Chapter 13
Variety Royalty“B?” Mark said.
Jaye’s heart was beating furiously at running into the one member of GOT7 she wanted to avoid the most. An announcement played overhead before she could answer him back: "Lee Kwangsoo out, Lee Kwangsoo out."
“Yeah, it’s me,” she tried to say calmly, semi-registering the report from the sound system and actively avoiding Mark's eyes as she got up from the floor, he following her ascent, “I don’t go by that anymore though.”
“I realize,” he said, still very surprised, “I knew there was something familiar about you when I watched that episode.”
She just nodded, walking to brush past him when he went to touch her arm before retracting it. She looked at him, puzzled, until she saw him glance at all the cameras to the side, since his crew joined hers.
“They can’t understand what we’re saying anyway,” she said.
“Still,” he replied.
Mark had always been shy and private, even when they were younger, so seeing that he hadn’t changed much made her smile.
She nodded slowly before asking the staff if they could have a second to catch up. Hwanjin PD looked between the two of them a few times questioningly but then nodded slowly, motioning for the cameramen to turn their cameras off.
“Happy?” Jaye asked Mark.
“Yes,” he said, smiling.
“Okay, let’s go in here then,” she said, taking the lead into a room.
“I’m sorry I didn’t keep in touch,” he said after she closed the door on the staff, catching a glimpse of Hwanjin giving her a joking dirty look.
He didn’t see her roll her eye
