Silence filled the room for what seemed like a couple of minutes before Joohyun cocked her to the side, raising her left brow.

“And you think I’m dumb to believe you? What are you on, Seungwan?”

“I-I’m serious! I like Seulgi!”

There was a ‘hmm’ before steps could be heard towards the bed, Joohyun taking her seat while looking as uninterested as before.

“Alright. Good for you.”

Wendy pursed her lips, her own brows furrowing to the middle in confusion.

“You’re not mad?”

“Why would I be?”

“B-because you might like S-”

“Okay, let me stop you right there. I don’t like Seulgi. I never will.”

“Then how come she made you laugh?”

A pause. Joohyun honestly didn’t know what to say. Heck, she didn’t even know what to think after she did so back then. Was she really happy then? Was that a genuine laugh? She doesn’t even know what the happened back then.

“She made you laugh like it was a natural thing between you two. She made you question yourself, made you doubt yourself. She made you feel things, Joohyun! I was your bestfriend for God knows how long but never did you laugh on anything!”

Right, Joohyun is not dumb. She felt Wendy’s frustration on every word and before you think about anything else, it wasn’t in a romantic way. She felt the frustration of a friend who’s been with her ever since...only to feel her getting snatched away by another person.

“Seungwan.”

“It’s unfair, Joohyun! All I ever wanted was for us to be real friends! To laugh and cry together! To share things with each other! That’s all I ever wanted! Throughout the years, all I know was a Joohyun who studied and studied and nothing else. I was never able to joke around with you or go to a carnival with you! It’s unfair! Seulgi just came and she got to do all of those!”

It’s true, it was unfair. Joohyun knew that too, even without the tears streaming from her friend’s face at the moment. She knew that but what is she supposed to do? Wendy’s situation is different. They are friends. It’s not like she can shut her up with a kiss or something. And besides, Joohyun knows it’s unfair since even right now, she couldn’t sympathize with the other girl and feel sorry.

“Stop picking on Seungwan. She keeps on blabbering about it and saying how scary you are.”

Seulgi laughed and scratched the back of her head before leaning back.
