My First Kpop Videos {Boy Groups}

I've been a Kpop fan for over 4 years now. But I still remember some of my first Kpop videos I watched of my favorite groups. Most of these I watched back when I didn't know anything about Korean music so my reactions were completely different from now.

SHINee - Sherlock

Back in 2012, I knew absolutely nothing about Kpop. Naturally watching something like this straight from the beginning left me confused. What are they wearing?? Who is the girl with the long hair and weird outfit?? I didn't even know that the leading girl was Jessica from SNSD. But even in my rookie days I thought that this was a great song and dance and the members were so handsome. I had no idea that a few months later they would become my favorite idols and my utter obsession for years to come...

Super Junior - Mr. Simple

This MV was a slightly easier to digest. It was simple, clean, and classy. Mr. Simple was my favorite SuJu song for years after I discovered this group. I remember being interested in Eunhyuk and Heechul, but if course I didn't know their names at the time.. And I thought Heechul had left because I didn't see him in the newer videos. But then I learned months after that he enlisted.

Beast - Beautiful

I discovered B2ST in 2013, I believe. I was under the impression that Kpop videos didn't have plots. I was genuinely shocked and interested at how good the story line was in this MV. I remember my eyes were glued to the computer screen even though this was my first time seeing this group. And the dancing was impressive. But one thing never changed even after all these years, Kikwang is a fine mother er >.<

Vixx - On and On

I remember watching Simon and Martina's Music Monday on this and went to watch the MV immediately. I loved it! And Vixx released serveral other dark concepts after this which secured this group in my top 5 favorite boy groups.

UKiss - Stop Girl

Yet another Kpop music monday from S&M. At one point they were covering every Ukiss video and even interviewed them!! I was drawn to the smooth beat similar to what plays in America pop. Soohyun took my breath away with this voice T_T And the dance was different than anything else I had seen in Kpop.

Big Bang - Fntastic Baby

Everything about this MV and song was bizarre. Even today it still is. But this song gets me turnt!! But my second and third MV I saw was Bad Boy and Haru Haru. Those songs were so different I almost couldn't believe they were by the same group. BB is so versatile. They can pull off anything.

Boyfriend - Boyfriend

Image me trying to fathom blonde and red headed Asians... This was one of the first Kpop videos I ever  saw and I was ashamed I liked something this cute. Boyfriend left this concept behind years ago, however I still listen to this because it takes me back to my rookie days of Kpop. I had no idea that the female lead Bora wouldl become my bias years later. They also looked like live action anime characters and as a former otaku I was in heaven everything I watched the MV..

BtoB - Wow

This song is still my favorite song by them 4 years later. Cube did right with this!! For the longest time I thought this was their debut song, but there's 2 songs before this, I believe. I haven't seen into their latest songs, but in their earliest days they slayed by life.

Nu'est - Face

Back in the day I used to be obsessed with them!! Nowadays, there are barely around. Ren confused the hell out of me. I remember rewatching the MV over and over tryng to figure out Ren's gender.

B.A.P - One Shot

Once again, the plot shocked me and I was glued to the screen. Intense plots are rare in Kpop videos. The song was so powerful and not even the typical Kpop vibe. The rapping and vocals was impresive as well. Even though BAP have tried different styles, I prefer their hardcore concepts.

Infinite - Chaser

K. Will - Please Don't

At the time I had no idea that the female lead was Dasom from Sistar haha

If a group isn't listed I probably forgot about them, I can't remember my first video like 2pm/Jark Park, my first video was their debut video at the time of release like I saw Exo in 2012 and BTS in 2013, or I don't really follow the group.

What were your first Kpop videos by your favorite groups??

My first shinee mv was Hello and it had me. I really dislike Sherlock but I acknowledge that it showcases their talents really well. I just don't like the song ^^'
For others, I honestly have no clue. Stellar, I think, was Marionette. Exo was MAMA (and I was not a fan) but the rest is just ... a blur? I think Oh! was my first SNSD mv (it and Hello brought me into kpop), Mr. simple was my first SJ (and what a ride that turned out to be, holy ). Mirotic was probably my first TVXQ but I'm not sure. uwu"
