If I could erase your existence

And start over on a blank page

I would write a new story for myself,

A story about how “I’m doing well;”

A story without you.

But you’ve engraved your existence

So deeply into these pages

Even if I try to erase you

Your outline would still be there

So unless I become someone else,

Unless I tear out every page in this book,

Unless I burn this book of life away,

You will always be a part of me.
