Turn-Off #5 : The 'You' Story.

*Replace '________' with your name.
"I love you, _______." That was the last thing he had said to her. Although it has been ten years since they last met, those words always remained in her heart; it was deeply engraved.
Okay, first, who is 'she'? Is 'she' the girl across the street? Your neighbor, dog, cat, snake, or even your television? 'She' is not you, readers. The author may have told you to replace that annoying line with your name, but the author doesn't specifically say who 'she' is. What if your reader was a male? (Yes, there are male readers and writers on AsianFanFics.) Would you expect a male reader to read something like this?
"Oh my gosh!" _______ screamed out in ecstasy as Choi Minho ed into her. She longed for that feeling; the feeling of the hottest guy in school, in her room, on her bed, inside of her.
I am not a writer, so yes, it was horrible, but it was just a simple example. Anyways, wouldn't it be awkward for a male reader to replace that line with their name? Tell me, is this not weird to you:
"Oh my gosh!" Lee Donghae screamed out in ecstasy as Choi Minho ed into her.
Last time I checked, Lee Donghae was not a girl. Just saying, he may look like one, but according to his , he is not a girl.
Also, there is a new function where you could replace a name with your readers username, yeah, that's no better. It gets annoying and is pointless. I'd rather read a story about Barney the purple dinosaur and his scary voice and e-like smile because at least in that story, there are names and not just '(your username) and (random idol's name) went out to eat ice cream'.
I'm even willing to read a story where the protagonist's name is Ben Dover. I may laugh throughout the whole story, but hey, better than reading a story with just a boring username.
