VII. 

“Oh my God Onew it’s raining we have to--”

“Stop, Jessica.” He looked at her straight in the eyes adoringly.

As the seconds passed, his hands holding hers in the air, their positions fixed, like they were caught in a spell, a slow-motion film, a fairytale of their own. He made the first move, putting his hands on her slim waist, leaning in towards her, slowly, steadily, carefully, as if she was a glass crystal able to break with too strong a grip.

The rain fell, faster and harder, the tiny drops slamming onto their backs again and again. Yet they didn’t mind, both eyes not leaving the other’s faces, gazing intently.

She slid her arms around his neck, smiling softly and whispered barely above the rain, “You’re mine.”

“I know,” he said, capturing her lips with his own, kissing gently. The rain danced around them, creating a misty aura. He pulled her close, tight, safe.

Only God knew how long they kissed, but it was a soft, love-filled one, neither of them exerting too much pressure. The kiss was so magical, so perfect, like nothing could ruin the moment. But when the time was right, he pulled away, unable to believe that they just kissed in the rain.

“I love you.” She smiled again.

“I love you more,” he replied, pulling her into a secure hug, “more than you’ll ever know.” 

I want a boy who will kiss me in the pouring rain.
