Sophie's POV

My heart was about to beat out of my chest, today was my solo recital and I watched as people filled the seats.

Vanessa helps me stretch as she gives me some encouraging words. 

"Hey you know Sehun seemed really excited to come to your recital tonight" she tells me

"He was?"

"Uh-huh, he let everyone off early from work so he could come see you" 

It made me feel a bit special hearing that

"You think my parents came? I left them a flyer on the refrigerator"

"I doubt it, they're just as stubborn as you" 

"You're probably right" they stop coming when I turned fourteen and deemed a Ballerina as my future occupation

As I put on my costume, my teacher comes up to me with a comforting smile

"Okay so I know you told me you'll think about Ballet school, but I called a few friends of mine who are apart of admissions to all the schools that were in those pamphlets I gave you. If they say you're worthy enough for Ballet school, will that help with your decision?"

"Possibly yes" hearing that made me even more nervous

"I didn't tell you that so you would get nervous, I just want you to go out there and show them what I see every night at practice" she hugs me, which eases my nerves. 

"Okay, I think I'm ready" I take a deep breath and she goes out on stage. 

I hear my name and the music began to play

I enter a whole other world

Sehun's POV

I made sure to get to Sophie's recital early so I would have a good seat. Moments later I was joined by Vanessa.

"You brought her flowers?" she asks me with this big smile on her face

"Mhm, you think she'll like them?" 

"Yeah, they're beautiful" 

"I-I bought them because I thought that's what most do when they come to these kinds of things" I explain

"Uh huh, of course you did" she gives me side-eye and we watch as a woman comes onto the stage

Once the music starts, I watch as Sophie gracefully glides onto the stage

I had never seen something so elegant, I felt my heart beating fast and I couldn't take my eyes off of her. 

She was making it seem effortless but I knew how much time and work she put into it. 

I feel a huge smile come across my face, it was like she had cast a spell on me. 

When she finishes I give her a standing ovation, along with everyone else at the theater. 

Sophie's POV

After the recital, all the ballerinas came together in a group hug, like we do whenever we perform, and congratulated each other. 

Vanessa runs up to me and tells me how beautiful I looked and the spectacular job I did

"Sehun had this huge smile on his face, he definitely loved it" she tells me

"Where is he? He didn't come with you backstage?"

"I don't know, I lost him within the crowd of people trying to come backstage" she explains

While we were making our way out, I was stopped by a small group of people

"Sophie correct? We're from the Ballet schools your teacher told you about" one woman introduces them all

"Nice to meet you all" I shake their hands. 

"I would like to be the first to say that you have talent, and if you're wondering if you could make it into my school, you certainly can" one of the two men apart of the group tells me

Everyone else nods in agreement

"You have what it takes Sophie, don't let it go to waste. You have until the summer to decide" the same woman who introduced them told me

"Thanks for the encouraging words, and I will make sure to let you all know about my decision on whether to pursue Ballet school or not" I tell them all, they shake my hand one last time and walk away. 

"Oh my gosh Sophie, how exciting! Not only does one school want you but like six of them just guaranteed your admissions, you have to go!" Vanessa is telling me as we walk out of the theater hall.

"I know but-"

"But what? C'mon you can't give up an opportunity like this"

"I'm only nineteen, I don't think I'm ready yet"

"Ready? You've been doing this for fourteen years, you're more than ready"

"I just have to think about it, but I've heard enough about it tonight, I'm exhausted" 

"I can only imagine how much your feet must hurt. C'mon I'll drop you off"

"Actually I would like to take her home" we hear a voice and turn to see Sehun holding a bouquet of flowers. 

"You were incredible, I was completely speechless while I watched you up there" 

"Don't think it's so silly anymore do you?" I take the bouquet

"No, absolutely not, I see how much it means to you now" 

"Glad to hear that" 

"After you?" he holds the car door open. 

I turn and hug Vanessa goodbye then get inside the car. 

"I'm curious, do your feet hurt or are you immune to the pain?"

"Both, they still hurt but not so much that I can't walk" 

"I'm so sorry for belittling Ballet, it looks extremely difficult" 

"It is, but I've been doing it since I was five years old" 

"You can tell, you outshine everyone on the stage"

"Well none of them have been doing it as long as me" 

"It kind of reminds me of how long I've been getting finance tutoring, but I've only been getting it since I was ten" 

"Well let me be the first to tell you, running a business seems difficult too, I probably couldn't do that" 

"I guess that's what makes us special" he smiles at me and my heart flutters a bit 

"You should come to my next recital" I tell him as he walks me to my door

"I wouldn't miss it for anything"
