Sophie's POV

"So how was your first date with Sehun?" Vanessa asks me while we were waiting for our next class to start

"It was nice, we stayed in and watched movies" 

"What? All that money and you guys stayed home to watch movies?"

"Vanessa, I don't like him because of his money, I like him for him" 

"Yeah, but I still would have wanted to go on a shopping spree or something"

I give her a look and she just shrugs her shoulder 

"When are you guys going to actually start dating?"

"I don't know, but I'm in no rush, I like how things are going" 

"Well if you don't make it official, what if someone tries to steal him away?"

"Hmm, I don't think I'll have that problem, he's awkward"

"You're right, only a quiet girl like you would like some awkward guy like Sehun" 

Sehun's POV

My father suddenly called me in and I was sitting next to some random man I'd never seen before. 

"Sehun. I have to be honest with you. I've been having someone follow you around" 

I look over at the man and he gives me a small wave

"What?" I couldn't believe what I was hearing 

"You've been acting strange, so I had someone follow you. Now who is the girl you've been seeing?" 

I stay quiet

"Don't make me force you Sehun, now tell me who she is" 

I sigh, "Her name is Sophie"

"I want to meet her"

"But I don't want you to, that's why I've kept her a secret" 

"It doesn't matter what you want, invite her over for dinner" 

I just stay where I was,

"If you keep disobeying me you'll regret it" the man sitting next to me grabs my phone out of my pocket and hands it to my father 

I listen as he dials her number and puts her on speaker phone 

"Hello?" the sound of her voice brings a smile to my face

"Is this Sophie?"

"Yes. Who is this?"

"This is Sehun's father"

"Oh hello"

"I would like to invite you to dinner tonight, will you be able to make it?"

"Yes of course"

"Great, I'll see you at eight" 

When he hangs up, I grab my phone back and storm out of his study

"Mom!" I call her and knock on my parent's bedroom door

"What? Why are you yelling?"

"Why didn't you tell me Father had someone following me?"

"He did what? I had no idea I promise. Oh no, did he find out about Sophie?"

I nod, "He invited her to dinner"

"I can already sense it's not going to turn out well" 

And this is exactly what I wanted to avoid.

Sophie's POV

I was tempted to call Sehun back but I wasn't sure if he or his father had his phone.

How was I suppose to explain to my parents where I was going? 

I get ready and put on my most expensive dress, a navy blue 3/4 sleeve dress, stockings, and my handy dandy peacoat. I straightened my hair, which took up the majority of my time, and put on a pair of my mother's stilettos I stole out of her closet 

I basically ran out of the house to avoid having my parents ask me where I was going, to be greeted by a car that looked like Sehun's but in white. 

The driver gets out to open the door and I get inside. 

As I sat in the back by myself, I tried to remember everything Sehun has told me about his father, but if he was just like my father, I knew he wouldn't be happy to hear about my future goals

Should I hide it?

But I'm not ashamed of what I want to be, so why hide it?

I could feel my adrenaline rushing as I walk towards the familiar Oh door. 

I was greeted by his mother, her big smile made me feel better.

"You look even more beautiful, which I didn't think could even be possible" she compliments me 

"Thank you Mrs. Oh, you look stunning" 

"Thank you" she links arms with me as we make our way to the kitchen 

For the first time I saw Mr. Oh, and he looked like a nice man, but I knew he probably packed a punch. I felt like I was frozen and couldn't move

Sehun comes behind me and secretly holds my hand, and I suddenly felt like everything would be okay 

"Sophie this is my Father, Father this is Sophie" he introduces us

"Hello Mr. Oh, it's nice to meet you" 

Sehun whispers for me to bow and that's what I did, I'd do whatever he wanted, I just wanted him to like me 

"Well are you going to stand and eat dinner?" he jokes and Sehun and I take our seats 

Their maid brings out the food and I was the only one to thank her, she whispers a "You're welcome" 

"You don't have to thank the maid, she's paid to do the things she do" Mr. Oh tells me 

I just smile, even if she's paid she still deserves a thank you 

It was silent as we ate, I was anticipating the questions that we're going to be asked soon.

"So Sophie, how old are you?" Mrs. Oh was the first to ask something

"I'm nineteen"

"Do you work? Go to college?"

"I go to college"

"Where?"

"Seattle Pacific University" 

"That's a good school, my nephew went there" 

"What is your major?" Mr. Oh jumps in on the question asking 

"Computer engineering" 

That got me a approved head nod. 

"What do you plan on doing with that major?"

"I'm not exactly sure" 

It grew quiet again 

"So Sophie, why has my son kept you a secret for so long?" Mr. Oh starts back up the questions

"I don't know" I play the clueless card 

"Sehun?" we all look towards him

"Because I didn't want you to think she was a distraction for me" 

"Distraction? She seems like a fine girl, so it must be something else"

He stares at us until I break. 

"It's probably because of what I want to do in the future.." I start and Sehun grabs my hand, not wanting me to reveal anymore 

"And what do you want to do?"

Sehun's POV

I glanced over from my mother to Sophie, if she told my father that she wanted to be a Professional Balleriana, I could say goodbye to ever seeing her again 

"I'm waiting for the answer" 

I want..." she starts, I'm practically squeezing the life out of her hand 

I give her a look, signaling not to do it. 

"I want to start my own computer engineering company and Sehun didn't want you to know and think I only liked him to get you to help start my company" I suddenly hear coming out of Sophie's mouth

He just stares at her, did he buy it?

"Don't think so bad of me, I'm not that mean, I promise" he smiles at her, and the tension dies down

Once dinner was over, Sophie was smiling, but I could tell something was wrong  

"Dinner was delicious, but I really have to be heading home" she announces

"You were an excellent dinner guest, I hope to see you more often now that we've been introduced" my father assures her

"Yes, feel free to come by anytime" my mother adds in 

As I'm walking her out, she isn't making eye contact with me 

"Sophie is something wrong?"

"Why were you squeezing my hand under the table? Are you embarrased of me?" she looks up at me with tears in her eyes

"No not at all, but I just didn't want my father to say something rude" 

"Sehun, there's nothing he could say that I haven't heard from my own father" 

"I know but-" 

"Sehun, I just lied to your parents, that's not a good start" 

"No you only lied to my father, my mother knows you're a Ballerina" 

"That's not the point Sehun, look if I'm not good enough for your parents, then maybe we should just stop seeing each other" she starts walking off

"Sophie wait! You're taking this all the wrong way. My father has a lot of power, enough power to prevent us from seeing each other, and I just didn't want that to happen okay? I don't know what I'll do if I couldn't see you anymore Sophie!" 

She just continues to look up at me with watery eyes, I wipe her face with my thumbs and slowly bring her face closer to mine. 

Once I feel her soft lips on mine, it was like all my worries didn't exist
