Chapter 2: Crazy

How Much do Dreams Cost?

Sehun's POV

I watched as Sophie plays with the straw inside of her cup, we had been sitting in a coffee shop until the snow lightened up

"You want to be a Professional Ballerina?" I ask Sophie, I had never heard of something so crazy

"Yeah, what you think it's crazy?"

"Kind of"

"You sound just like everybody else, well if you think it's so crazy, let's end the conversation here" she gets up, but I grab her wrist

"Calm down, I didn't know you'd get so worked up"

"You'd get worked up too if someone thought your dreams were crazy" she sits back down, "what are your dreams?"

I thought about it

"I don't have any"

"What do you mean? Everyone has dreams"

"Not me, my future was planned out for me ever since I was born"

"That doesn't sound too great"

"To me it does, I like having stability in my future, knowing exactly how it's going to go"

"But the fun part is not knowing" she tells me, then her phone starts going off.

"I have to go, nice talking to you Sehun" she rushes out, but she forgets her shoes

I get up and chase after her in my car, I got to her right before she walks inside

"Wait Sophie, you forgot these" I hand her the shoes

"Oh thanks, you're a life saver" she smiles at me

I continue to stand there, noticing I could see inside the studio from the window.

Before she walks in she turns around, "don't watch me through the window, since you think being a professional Ballerina is so crazy, come to my recital in two weeks and you'll see me then" she hands me a flyer

"Alright, I'll be there" I say and get back in my car.

Sophie's POV

Sehun calling my dreams crazy gave me even more motivation to do an excellent job, just so I could prove him wrong.

He would be the first, since my family refuses to come to my recitals period.

Later that night, while Vanessa is giving me a ride home I tell her all about my conversation with Sehun

"Is he cute?" after all I've said is the only thing she has to say

"That's not the point Vanessa, the point is that for the first time, I'll be able to make someone see that being a professional Ballerina is a serious career"

"I see that already" she comments

"Yeah, but you never doubted me in the beginning"

"True, I deserve some kind of bestest best friend in the universe award" she jokes

"Of course, I'm already in the process of making it" I add.

When we get to my house, I do homework as she gives herself a pedicure.

"You should let me give you a pedicure" she looks down at the horror of my busted up feet, "they'll look...less terrible"

"No there's no point, the polish will only be covered with band-aids at some point"

She goes on to painting her fingernails as I stress over my math homework

"I hate this, I hate it so much" I whine

"C'mon, it's not that hard'

"Coming from the mathematician herself"

Vanessa was completely opposite of me, she loved math but her parents wanted her to persue a more exciting career, while my parents obviously wanted me to hate my job for the rest of my life

Sehun's POV

As I was filling out paperwork at my desk, my little sister comes barging into my room

"Sehun, can I borrow your red plaid shirt?" she asks while already going through my closet

"I guess, what for?"

"To tie around my waist, it's a new trend"

"But you already have a jean jacket on, you won't need it"

"It's just for style, I'm not going to actually put it on"

I shake my head, that made no sense to me

"Of course it won't make sense to a fashion-deprived person like you" she rolls her eyes

I look down at my outfit, I had on a white collared button up with a blue sweater over it, and khaki pants

"That's because I dress like a sophisticated person"

"You dress like you're wearing a school uniform"

"Shut up Jimin, and where are you going this late at night?" I look over to the clock to see it was nine o' clock

"Late? Late is like eleven, you're only twenty years old yet you act like you're forty or something"

"Again, shut up Jimin" I go back to my paperwork

"Have fun grandpa" she teases when she finally finds my shirt, I throw a pillow at her on her way out, but she closes the door before it could hit her.

When I was sixteen I barely went out, yet Jimin goes out every week. Still at twenty I barely went out.

Now that I think about it, I never went out because I never had anyone to go out with...
