Kai's POV

It was as if the doctor had dropped a bombshell when he said those words.

I had lung cancer. That is impossible. It will never happen to me.

Tears welled up in my eyes and and began flowing down my cheeks like rivulets. No words could express my agony. I felt the whole world collapsing on me.

That all happened about an hour ago. I sat on a bench in a park near my house.

"What am I supposed to do?" my voice was soft and gentle, almost to the point of breaking.

Placing a hand over my chest, I lowered my head and my shoulders shook.

I do not have enough money to treat my illness. I still have Hana to take care of. She is the only one I have. I couldn't bear to leave her alone in this cruel world.

I let out a deep sigh and looked up as I felt a rain drop fall and land on my cheek.

I walked back to my house. It was pitch black when I opened the door. She is not home yet.

I glanced at my wrist watch. 11.30 pm. Where did Hana go?
