Chapter 3

“Yama-chan~ Please take her in... Just for the mean time! And I know you like her, so it's gonna be alright!”

“WHAT?! Hey, this was your idea! You take her in! And I DO NOT like her, so why should take care of her?!”

“I... I... Well, my father... He forgot to talk to Nee-san before he left for the out-of-town seminar... and... Even if I explain it, she would never listen unless she hears it directly AND personally from Father! I can't take Miyu in with this kind of situation!" Chinen's eyes were already tearing up as he was staring at Ryosuke.

"You know Nee-san, she’ll kill me if I take a girl home! She’ll think something like we’re a couple and she’ll get me to marry Miyu!”

“Whoa, what?! You’re totally exaggerating, Chii!” Ryosuke said as he was looking at his bestfriend who looked as if he was going into a panic attack.

“I AM NOT! You know Nee-san, right?! She would never allow a girl to live with us unless she’s my wife! She told me that!” Chinen yelled, he was staring at Ryosuke and was looking so helpless.

Though Chinen sounds and looks like he's exaggerating, Ryosuke knows above anyone else what Chinen's sister is like. Though he knows that Chinen really can't go against his sister, Ryosuke still doesn't like the idea that he'll be the one to take care of Miyu.

“Then why did you tell her that you’ll be helping her out? Now what will you do?” he yelled instead.

“Yama-chan, WE are going to help her out! WE not ME! Geez. You should be the one worrying about her, she bumped into YOU not ME!” Chinen voiced out while pointing towards Ryosuke and himself.

“But—“

“No buts! Talk to your Dad and Mom, already! Miyu’s gonna be discharged after three days…” Chinen said as he looked up on the calendar on his mobile phone.

“But—“

“Okay, I’ll be the one paying for the hospital fees since I know you don’t have any money or any savings for that… So please, just take care of the house she’ll live in! Your Mom wanted a daughter, right? And you have a spare room at home! Please, Yama-chan!”

"FINE! I'll help you with every school work we have until Nee-san allows me to take Miyu in! Is that okay with you now?!"

In an instant Ryosuke's face lightened up and he seemed to forget that he hated the idea,

“Yeah! No problem! Miyu’s gonna live with me!”

“Great! It'll all be okay when Father gets back home...” Chinen beamed.

And Ryosuke sighed, realizing what happened.

“You can’t go to my room, you can’t touch my things, you can’t eat my food, and never… NEVER EVER touch the strawberries inside the refrigerator! All of those are mine! Understand?!” Ryosuke kept saying while he was leading Miyu inside the house.

“Strawberries?” Miyu said as she smiled brightly.

“I told you, all strawberries are mine and MINE alone!” Ryosuke said while glaring at her.

“Ryo-chan? Is that you? Is she there yet?” both of them heard the voice from the kitchen.

“Yeah, Ma! She’s here…” Ryosuke looked back at Miyu and said, “My Mom… She’s a bit—“

“MIYU-CHAN~” a woman about the age of mid 30s came out of the kitchen and immediately hugged Miyu.

“Ma, you’re suffocating her!” yelled Ryosuke who was trying to pull her mother away from Miyu.

“Oh, you’re so pretty! I made you a Strawberry Cake!”

“WHAT?! YOU MESSED WITH MY STRAWBERRIES?! THAT WAS MINE!” Ryosuke yelled out and began to color up, he was looking so furious that Miyu had to back away from him in fear of being beaten to death.
