CHAPTER 21

"What do you know?" Yuto was already towering Suzuka and was glaring at her intently. The latter, though was feeling pretty scared at the moment, didn't show any sign of it. Instead she was also staring intently back at him.

"Why are you so affected anyway? Why? Are you scared that I might know something that you don't want people to know? Huh, Nakajima Yuto?" Suzuka said with a grin that made Yuto ever more annoyed. He frowned and suddenly held her by the arm rather forcefully making her flinched.

"Are you suspecting me?"

"Should I be?"

Yuto then released her arm and clicked his tongue before turning back to walk away.

"I really don't have time for you. And besides, why should I even explain to you when you clearly don't know what's happening. Even going to the extent of suspecting me. Sheesh. You're crazy..." he said as he began walking away, but before he could really get far from where she stood, she spoke making him stop his tracks.

"She mentioned Nakajima Raito's name... She was clearly feeling scared that time, and she was shouting, 'Why are you doing this to me, Nakajima Raito?' over and over again. And... and before she totally lost consciousness, I think she called for you... 'Why aren't you here to save me?' was the last thing I heard her say..."

The moment Yuto turned to look back at Suzuka, he was suddenly welcomed by a loud slap.

"What the--?!"

"She trusted you... I know you have something to do with what happened to Miyu and I won't let you hurt her again..." Suzuka's eyes was full of rage as she looked straight into Yuto's eyes who was obviously looking back at her with the same amount of anger.

"You have no right to tell me that. You don't know anything so don't try to act all high and mighty, Ohgo Suzuka. You don't know me, and you don't know what I am capable of doing. Mirai is the most important person for me and I wouldn't even think of doing anything to hurt her. So whatever you're thinking, you're definitely wrong."

"Then tell me... Why did she say those things? And... And what did she mean when she said, 'Just kill me already, Nakajima... I'm useless anyway...'" Suzuka was still staring at him angrily, but this time there were obvious tears on her eyes.

"What are you doing, Suzuka? What kind of nonsense are you saying?! Damn it! I would never do anything to hurt Mirai! I don't know why you're doing this but--"

"That's what I heard from Miyu and I know I didn't made a mistake. If you do have something to do with this... I swear, I'll have you rot in jail for what you did to her." as she said those words, the tears that she tried so hard to stop fell from her eyes staining her flushed cheeks. She then started walking away from the still confused and stunned Yuto.

Yuto was still standing where Suzuka left her. It had been minutes since she walked away leaving those confusing words making his head ache, but he seemed unable to decipher what it means.

'Why are you doing this to me, Nakajima Raito?'

'Just kill me already, Nakajima... I'm useless anyway...'

Those words kept repeating in his mind like a broken record and it makes his mind go crazy. 'What does Dad have to do with this?' he thought.

'Why aren't you here to save me?'

He then ran his hand through his hair in frustration before he got his phone and dialed a number in haste.

"Give me the details of Shida Mirai's kidnapping. Report everything that have happened before and after the accident. And check all the schedules of my Father during those time. Also, I want to know the details on the body that was found to be Shida Mirai. I want all those information by today."

As he hung up, he stared at the door where Suzuka dashed off to.

'I'll find out what really happened and see if that woman is right, that this wasn't a mere accident. And I'll make sure to find who did this to you and I swear to make sure they pay for it. I don't care who the they are, but I wouldn't just let anyone hurt you like this.'
