Chapter 01
Will fate bring us back to each other?
“Yi Fan, please let your little brother play with the toys too.” Mrs Zhang scolded her seven years old son who wouldn’t let his little brother share the toys their father just bought for them. Mrs Zhang could only watch how the five years old Yi Xing kept looking at his elder brother jealously, patiently waiting for his turn to play the toys.
Hearing his mother scolding, Yi Fan gave up and handed the toys to his little brother that brightened up immediately. But Yi Xing smile disappeared immediately as he saw his elder brother stood up and about to walk away. “Ge, where are you going?” little Yi Xing stood up as well and followed his elder brother.
“Why are you following? Just play with your toys!” Seven years old Yi Fan shouted at his younger brother.
“But... But I want to play with you.” Little Yi Xing started to get teary eyes. He really does want to play with his brother.
Seeing the almost crying Yi Xing, Yi Fan gave up. “Fine. Whatever you want.”
Yi Xing smiled brightly as he followed his elder towards the back garden of their house.
“Dad, can we go fishing today?” Twelve years old Yi Fan asked his father excitedly.
“I want to go too!” Ten years old Yi Xing joined in as well. “I’ve never gone fishing before!”
“Why do you always want to copy whatever I do?” Yi Fan looked annoyed at his little brother.
“I don’t! I want to go with dad too!” Yi Xing defended himself.
“Alright! Alright you two, knock it off! Why don’t you two go change your clothes while I will prepare the fishing equipments?” Mr Zhang decided to stop the quarrel of his two sons.
“Yes, sir!” Both boys did the sailor salute at their dad before ran upstairs to change.
“We do have two cute sons, honey.” Mr Zhang smiled at his wife who was watching from not far.
“I’ll go prepare the foods for you three...” Mrs Zhang smiled back at her husband before she walked to the kitchen.
“Mom, we’re home!” Seventeen years old Yi Xing announced that he and his brother were home from their basket play around the neighbourhood. “Hey Dad, I didn’t know you’re home this early.” Yi Xing noticed his dad presence in the living room.
“Yes, I have my work done sooner than I expected.” Mr Zhang replied his son. “How’s the match?” He asked his sons.
“We win, as always.” It’s Yi Fan who answered proudly. “Technically, I win because Yi Xing didn’t even help at all.”
“Hey, I help, ok?” Yi Xing protested.
“Whatever.” Yi Fan rolled his eyes as he walked back to his room. “I’m going to shower first.”
“Wait for me, Ge!” Yi Xing hurriedly followed his elder brother upstairs.
“Time sure flies fast. It’s just like yesterday they’re still in our arms, but now look at Yi Fan. He’s so tall now and will be nineteen next month.” Mrs Zhang commented as she took the seat beside her husband.
“Honey, there’s something I need to talk to you about.” Mr Zhang turned to look at his wife seriously.
Mrs Zhang looked at her husband understandingly. She sighed, “I know what you want to talk about but can we wait for next year? He’ll be 19 only. He’s too young.”
“But honey...” Mr Zhang wanted to protest but looking at his wife sad face, he didn’t have the heart to talk more.
“Dad, you’re looking for me?” 21 years old Yi Fan entered his father work room to find both his father and mother on the couch, clearly waiting for him.
“Yes, son. We have to something to tell
