Absence

Arranged Future

LAST CHAPTER

“Hyung, I am so mad at you,” Jimin complained into his webcam. Yoongi couldn’t help but give a gummy grin to counter his boyfriend’s adorable pout, “Why?” he asked, their Skype connection freezing for just a second. “You were supposed to be home two weeks ago,” the younger whined with a cross of his arms. Yoongi sighed, “I know, Jiminnie, I know,” he said scratching the top of his head through his black beanie, “But one of our shoots took a little bit longer to put together. I promise I’ll be home really soon, though.”

Jimin shook his head, unconvinced, “I’ll believe you when I actually see you; you’ve already told me that twice,” he said holding up two fingers in front of the camera. The elder laughed, “Yah, I know, Park Jimin. But this time I’m sure,” he said with an affirmative nod, “so make sure you’re at the airport in on Saturday to pick us up.” Jimin grinned at his boyfriend and nodded, “I’ll be there, Tasty Cakes, with a bouquet of ‘Welcome Home’ roses,” he promised with a cute wink.

Yoongi laughed and shook his head, “Alright I have to get to bed, it’s like 3AM here,” he told his boyfriend, “and as you can see, Juntao-hyung is already sleeping peacefully,” he added pointing at his brother over his shoulder, who was knocked out on the couch in the background. As if on cue, Juntao snored a little louder and to his side.

Jimin grinned and nodded, “OK hyung, I love you,” he said as he stood up and kissed his laptop’s webcam, “Annyeong,” he waved before ending their video call. Yoongi chuckled to himself and shook his head again, “My silly little loser,” he mumbled resting his head back against his chair, “I love you, too.” Too freely, that confession came to him nowadays.

“How did you forget where you left your passport, hyung?” Yoongi yelled at his brother in annoyance. He crossed his arms and angrily watched the elder rifle around their shared apartment, frantically searching for his only valid identification in the foreign country.

“I partied so hard last night, you better be happy I remembered my own name when I woke up this morning,” the elder snapped back as he lifted a couch cushion over his head, “Ah ha!” he cheered when he saw it stuffed in a deep crevice. He yanked it free and kissed it, releasing a thankful sigh. “That’s wonderful, but do you think you could hurry up before we miss our flight?” the younger complained, his bags surrounding him in the threshold of the wide open apartment door, “Unlike you, I have someone waiting for me to get home.”

“Ah, don’t be rude Yoongi,” Juntao warned tugging his brother’s hair as he followed him out the door.

“I am so sorry Jimin,” Yoongi regretfully spoke into his phone’s front-facing camera, the airport Wi-Fi was ish and their connection kept freezing . Jimin sighed in disappointed, “What happened, hyung?” he asked into his own camera. He was using up all of his mobile data on this depressing video call. He reached over and switched off the engine to Yoongi’s car, he had just found an amazing space in one of the many parking lots surrounding the airport. He was SO ready to see his boyfriend again.

“Stupid Juntao took too long to find his ing his passport,” Yoongi tattled from his spot in the middle of the crowded American airport. They’d just made it through security when their plane took off without them. “Sorry Jimin, it’s all my fault,” Juntao admitted through a pout, his seat back conjoined with Yoongi’s. He was looking over Yoongi’s shoulder. “ off,” Yoongi snapped at his brother angrily.

Juntao reached over and smacked his brother upside the head, “Yah, I’m still your big brother, you little brat,” he scolded before turning back around. Yoongi bit back a snide remark and sighed. He looked at his boyfriend’s long face in his phone’s screen and couldn’t fight the immense guilt he was feeling, “Don’t look like that, Jiminnie,” he pleaded.

“How can I not, Yoongi?” Jimin mumbled, “You’re supposed to be here, in Korea, at home with me. I just…thought the wait was finally over.” His sad pout was making Yoongi’s heart ache, “I know, but I’ll be home soon,” he promised (again). Jimin shrugged, unconvinced (again), “OK,” he said blandly. “C’mon Jiminnie, I’m serious, we’re heading over to reschedule our flight right now,” the elder informed him with a comforting smile.

Jimin rested his arm on the console, “I’m going to go now, hyung,” he said before he ended their call. “,” Yoongi cursed under his breath, ‘I’m going to murder Juntao.’

Jimin groaned and to his side. He couldn’t sleep tonight, hollowness and disappointment weighing heavy on his young soul. He missed his boyfriend…maybe a little more than his parents right now. It was awful, but it was true. He’d never missed someone so much, he’d even changed all of his devices’ wallpapers to various pictures of Yoongi.

Phone, laptop, tablet; everything. It was obsessive and maybe a little sad, but it was all he could do to keep himself from being depressed at not having the real thing. Jimin rolled over onto his tummy, had his mat always had this much space? Yoongi’s space. So much so, that he’d filled it with the large stuffed white bear the elder owned for some unknown reason.

He grabbed his boyfriend’s thick pillow from beneath Suga Bear’s head and smelled it. He didn’t know if he was just being paranoid, but Yoongi’s pillow was starting to smell more like what it was and less like the elder’s rain forest scented shampoo. Jimin sighed again and shoved the elder’s pillow and bear off his mat and onto the floor.

He was pissed at Yoongi too, for continuously postponing their reunification. Didn’t he miss him too? Wasn’t the extended distance killing him too? Or did he find some cute American boy to keep him company? “Yoongi, why do you keep letting me down?” he asked aloud as he flopped onto his back once more, “Why won’t you come home?” He was starting to think his boyfriend would never return to him…or maybe he was just being paranoid again.

Jimin’s brows knitted when he felt something warm drape around his bare torso. He opened his confused dark brown irises to see a grinning Yoongi staring at him. “Yoongi?” he asked in disbelief. Was he dreaming? He reached for his eyeglasses at his side to activate his 20/20 vision. It was him. He looked a little worn out and disheveled, but it was definitely his Min Yoongi.

“What are you doing here?” Jimin questioned as he sat upright. Yoongi shrugged and propped his head in his hand, “I live here,” he nonchalantly replied. Jimin nodded, surprise still hugging his features, “I know, but you told me you rescheduled your flight three days from now,” he mumbled. Yoongi sat up as well, “I lied…to surprise you,” he revealed with another shrug, but added a smile.

In 2.5 seconds, Jimin had his arms thrown around his boyfriend’s neck in a hug causing them to topple over. “Finally,” he yelled in Yoongi’s ear. The elder smiled and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend’s waist, squeezing him tight. Jimin gave a relieved sighed, “I was starting to think you were never gonna come home,” he mumbled into the elder’s shoulder. Yoongi snorted and broke away, “Why?” he asked folding his legs in front of himself.

“I don’t know,” Jimin shrugged, “I thought you liked it better overseas, and found some cute blond American boy, and had adopted a western name.” “That’s ridiculous Jimin,” Yoongi said with a shake of his head. “Well what was I supposed to think?” Jimin defended a little loudly, “You were supposed to be home like a month ago. That’s four extra weeks, hyung.” Yoongi reached over and flicked Jimin’s forehead, “Problems happened Jimin, that’s no reason for you to think I was beginning a new life…especially without you,” he scolded.

Jimin sighed guiltily, “I know,” he nodded, “I just missed you like crazy and it made me a little paranoid.” Yoongi rested his hand on the back of his boyfriend’s neck, “Well I’m home now,” he mumbled before pulling him into a kiss. Jimin melted into the kiss, he’d missed his boyfriend’s lips. Insanely. Though they were a bit chapped, Yoongi’s lips still felt amazing against his own. “You can stop being paranoid now. OK,” Yoongi mumbled when he pulled away, “I’m still me, there’s no blond American boy, and I’m happy to be home with you.”

“One more kiss should do it,” Jimin bargained holding up a finger. He fisted his hand in the elder’s shirt and yanked him into another firm kiss, their teeth clinking from the force. Yoongi grinned into the kiss before deepening the kiss. Jimin sighed contently when they broke apart again, though his lips were chapped now as well. Yoongi gave a cocky smile and ran a thumb over his boyfriend’s reddening plump lips, only he could make Jimin smile like a huge idiot.

“So, where’s my souvenirs?” the younger asked through his lopsided grin, he brain still felt all fuzzy from their long-awaited kiss. Yoongi pushed Jimin onto his back, “Wasn’t my surprise gift enough?” he asked as he crawled on top of him. Jimin snorted, “Hell no,” he bluntly said with a shake of his head. Yoongi used his perfect teeth to tug on his boyfriend’s bottom lip, “What if I ed your brains out?” he asked hotly, “Could that be your gift?”

He wasn’t jetlagged anymore, suddenly all he wanted to do was be one with Jimin again. They hadn't had since Jimin came to visit him in America 2 months ago. Jimin did his best to shake his head, “No, that’s a reunification requirement. We were gonna do that anyway,” he mumbled. Yoongi laced their fingers together, all 20 of them, and huskily asked, “Really?”

His deep voice sent shivers down Jimin’s spine. Jimin nodded, “Every morning, and afternoon, and night…for at least two weeks straight,” he told him wrapping his arms around his shoulders again. Yoongi reached between his boyfriend’s legs and palmed his manhood, “Then let’s get started,” he said as he leaned in to kiss the younger again.

Jimin covered Yoongi’s mouth with his hand, “Presents first, and then we’ll take turns screwing each other’s brains out,” he haggled through a juvenescent eye-smile (like he wasn’t just talking about ). Yoongi sighed heavily and rested his forehead against Jimin’s, “I’ll give you one tonight,” he haggled back. Jimin cheered and happily pushed his boyfriend up, “Yay. OK, where is it?” he asked impatiently. Yoongi grinned and stood up to retrieve his backpack by the door.

“I’ll give you the greasiest gift first,” he said pulling a folded up neon green shopping bag from his backpack. He tossed it into Jimin’s hands and then rejoined him in their bed. Jimin reached inside the bag, “Snapbacks?” he queried pulling the black caps from the bag. “Read what they say,” Yoongi ordered as he moved to lie on his back.

Jimin turned the caps around to read them, “‘Tasty Cakes’ and ,” he read aloud, “‘Cuddle Bear’.” He laughed loudly, “How lame are you, Yoongi-hyung?” he playfully commented before securing the ‘Cuddle Bear’ snapback over his lifeless dark hair. Yoongi laughed too (to hide his embarrassment) and nodded, “Which is why we will never where these outside of our home,” he said firmly.

“Why?” Jimin asked crawling on top of the elder, “You don’t want anyone to know I’m your Cuddle Bear?” he questioned rubbing their noses together. Yoongi nodded and put his respective cap on as well, “Right, and no one needs to know I’m your Tasty Cakes,” he said before pulling his boyfriend into another kiss.

“Don’t you want to come with me, Jimin?” Yoongi hopefully asked as he pulled his t-shirt over his head. He was tired and wasn’t sure if he was up to visiting his parents on his own. Jimin grinned from his place in the center of their messy mat, “No thank you,” he denied with a shake of his head, “I had my fill of your parents when they dropped by a few weeks ago.”

Yoongi chuckled, “I still can’t believe they popped up like that,” he said incredulously. Jimin tucked an arm behind his head, “They were actually worried about you, believe it or not. Though they made it seem like they came for contact info that only you had,” he defended his boyfriend’s parents, “They’re actually starting to come around…at the pace of a turtle…but still progressive.”

Yoongi nodded, “Oh I believe it,” he agreed, “but it’s still shocking.” He dropped onto his knees and crawled back into their bed, “I want to show them some of the photographs I took,” he told his boyfriend, “Do you think they’ll be interested?” Jimin shrugged, “I don’t know hyung, I don’t have all the answers,” he answered through a grin.

Yoongi glared at his boyfriend lightly smacked his forehead, “Yah, I know that, you little brat. I was just asking for your opinion. Judging by the way things have been going with my parents lately, do you think they’ll be interested in seeing some of the pictures I took?” he asked again. Jimin shoved his boyfriend’s hand away, “I honestly don’t know. It could go either way with them,” he replied as he rubbed his reddening forehead, “They seem to be coming around, but they also still seem to be a little angry with you. They could look at them and  then belittle pretty much every aspect about them or they could refuse all together. I think your best bet would be to just wait and see.”

Yoongi sighed and nodded, “Wait and see,” he conceded.

He could do that.

Because Jimin missed Yoongi so much:

Chapter 22: How come it's the end? Hyuhyuuu T^T Jimin and Yoongi were so adorable >o< I'm still salty about Yoongi's parents, but they're improving so I try to think positive about the future. I'm so proud of the boys; Juntao and Yoongi made it big while Jimin is happy and content. How sweet :")

Chapter 21: Yoongi acted a little selfish, I guess. But it was for the best, he didn't want to part with Jiminnie. I'm glad that Jimin didn't throw everything and wanted to go with Yoongi though. It would be kinda stupid hah But the Min brothers are going to LA, yay! ^u^

Chapter 19: Jiminnie had a point. Hopefully, he won't feel so insecure anymore. Or maybe Yoongi will tell it more often now? I honestly have no idea haha :D But I'm glad that their issue got talked out before it grew big.

Chapter 18: them! Hahaha :D It was my motto for a long while as well, and it really helped me. Such a small thing but how much it changes, huh.
I think that they came to see Juntao's art not only for investors, but also because they wanted to see their son's success, but they're too big cowards to admit it (probably even to themselves). I hope they will accept their sons someday :(

Chapter 16: If now Yoongi's father won't realise the reality, after all the reasoning by Jimin, I'll lose faith in humanity. Okay, maybe only in Yoongi's dad. He's so freaking stubborn and it's so annoying, ugh. I feel like smacking him across his forehead lol

Chapter 15: Wow, jealous Jimin acts so bratty >u< It was cute though. The whole chapter was actually! I legitmately couldn't stop smiling, it was so nice :3 I didn't expect Yoongi to have Hoseok as an ex-boyfriend, and to think that Tae is Jimin's bestfriend who's also Hobi's boyfriend? Small world indeed haha

Chapter 13: Oh man hahaha, the ending is killing! XD But yeah, it would be more effective if not where Jimin was laying ><
And in so proud of the boys! They're doing so well and luck seems to be on their sides. Aww.

Chapter 12: Aww, what a sweet moment! It doesn't feel like Yoongi and his brother didn't see each other for such a long time. And Juntao is so cool, I hope he will show up more in Yoongi's life from now on.
