I was shocked, how could this happen? Why was here? I could feel Luhan tense up. He grabbed my hand and dragged me to class.

I was calm once we entered class; I turned to Luhan, “Hey, what’s up? Why are you so tense?” He looked at me, his eyes still looked dark, “Uh… it’s really nothing, but… how can I say this… Well you see, one of the guys I know is transferring here today. He’s a bad guy. Ever since we were young, he… well never mind, but promise me one thing ok? You won’t talk to him or even make eye contact with him. I don’t want my girlfriend to talk to trash like him.” I looked back at him and gave him a reassuring smile.

Class was about to start. Mrs. Lee walked in and was holding a bunch of papers. Still looking at her papers she said, “Class, I would like to introduce you to a new student. He transferred here from Prague…” My heart dropped, could it be? Could he really come back? What about me? Eun Soo? Luhan? I looked at Luhan, he looked tense again. His eyes looked dark too.

Just then a tall figure came in. There it was again- the smell of blossoms. Mrs. Lee smiled and handed him the papers. I couldn’t do anything but look wide-eyed at Kris. It was him, it was really him! “Class, please welcome Kris. I know this is a university and introductions are weird, but we’re a small class anyways. Please introduce yourself.” She turned to Kris and I heard the girls in class start to giggle and murmur. Kris stood in front of class, “Hi, I’m Kris” then he just sat at the empty seat behind Luhan and I.

I stood still in shock, I turned to Luhan and he was tense but I could sense the anger building up inside him. Class seemed to take forever, but as it finally ended Luhan turned to me and said, “ Hey, meet me at home. I need to take care of some stuff real quick. I’ll see you and Eun Soo soon ok?” I nodded and as I left I glanced back and I saw Kris staring at me, his eyes digging deep into my soul. I felt my heart stop so I left in a hurry.

(At Home)

My heart was still beating fast. I was scared, but something deep inside me was happy to see him. Eun Soo started to cry. I picked her up and tried to calm her. I looked Eun Soo in her eyes, “Shhh baby…Your father came back, but I don’t know what to do. I can’t tell Kris or Luhan the truth, and I’m Luhan’s girlfriend not Kris’s.”

Just then I heard the doorbell. I placed Eun Soo on her bed and went downstairs. I grabbed the door handle and said, “Luhan, what took-” I stopped what I was saying. There in front of my house was the person I tried to avoid the whole day. Just then I heard my phone beep, I picked it up quickly. It was from Luhan, “Hey baby, I can’t make it today, something urgent came up. Don’t open the door for anyone.” Kris  coughed and I looked at him, “Wha-what are you doing here?” He smiled again, it was full of warmth for some reason, “I was just passing by, I was surprised you didn’t even say hi to me.” I glared at him, how could he act like nothing happened. I mean he knew what he did and I didn’t. I was about to slam the door, but I grabbed it, “aren’t you going to invite me in. I mean, like I saved your life”. I couldn’t take it anymore, “GET OUT! Why would you even come here. I know you’re my boyfriend’s enemy!” just then Eun Soo started to cry again, Kris looked up and was about to say something but I slammed the door in his face.

It was quiet outside so I looked out the peephole and to my surprise Kris had gone. Eun Soo had stopped crying too. Just then my phone rang. I picked it up and it was Luhan, “Hey baby, I was worried. Did anyone come and visit you. I just got that feeling again.” I replied, “No Babe, everything’s fine. What happened, I thought you were coming over.” He stopped talking as if he was remembering something…

(Luhan and Kris’s Conversation Earlier)

The class emptied out and the only ones left in the classroom were Luhan and Kris.

Luhan went up to Kris’s desk. Kris looked away, he didn’t want to see Luhan again. Luhan became furious, “Why are you here again?” Kris looked up at him, then he got up. He was taller than Luhan. He pushed Luhan to the wall. Luhan pushed back, “Get away from here, you lost your chance.” Kris looked Luhan in the eyes, “What do you mean? Does she know what you did then? What do you think she will do when she finds out?”

(Present)

“Hello, Luhan?” I said. Luhan sounded shocked, “Uh… sorry, I just have a lot on my mind, I’ll see you tomorrow then ok?” We said bye to each other and hung up.

As I made my way upstairs, I smelled the scent of blossoms again. I quickened my pace and ran to Eun Soo’s room. As I entered the smell of blossoms intensified, but everything was quiet. Eun Soo was fast asleep in her crib, it was a little chilly. I wonder why I left the window open?

(The Next Day)

The sun had finally come up and I left Eun Soo with her baby sitter next door. As I headed to class, I heard the familiar sound of Luhan calling my name and running up to me, “Hey! Sorry about yesterday, but to make it up, how about we go on a date? Let’s go to the amusement park. I heard they had a new ride!” I nodded back at Luhan, it’s actually been years since I’ve been to the amusement park.

The class was almost full when Luhan and I entered. I looked around and I was relieved that Kris was not there. I started to chat with Luhan and class flew by in a flash.

As soon as class ended, Luhan dragged me to his car and we headed to the amusement park. I had the time of my life there and I could tell Luhan was enjoying himself too. I still couldn’t help but notice that Luhan seemed tense. His eyes were dark. Just then I smelled the scent of blossoms again. I looked around and I decided to calm down because there were a bunch of flowers growing on the ground.

It was late when we left the amusement park. Out of nowhere Luhan grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I was about to complain, but then I saw the place where I was standing. There was a gunshot. Luhan started pulling me away, “We got to get out of here. Hurry! Here stay here for a while, I’ll keep you safe. Don’t move or make a sound ok? I promise to come back, don’t worry about me ok? I promise I will come back” with that Luhan pushed me behind some trashcans, he made sure to cover me. After that he kissed me on my forehead and ran away.

What was going on? Why was there a gunshot where I was standing? I heard footsteps in the distance. I peeked through the little opening and saw four men. One of those men had a gun. He looked at the guy that had his back turned in my direction, “They couldn’t have gone far. He was with a girl, I tried to get her but he was too fast again. Try to find her, knowing him he must of hid her like the other one.” The men nodded. One of the men said, “Hey, what’s that over there?” my heart started to beat, the men quickly pushed the trashcans away. One of them caught me by surprise and grabbed my hand, another man came up and grabbed my other hand. Soon I was pulled and pushed to the ground by a wall. The men surrounded me. The one with a gun spoke, “ What should we do, she’s the one he was with.” Another man spoke, “Wait until he gets here boss, then you can do what you started. We won’t let him get away this time.” One man grabbed me again and started to tie me up and gagged my mouth.

Just then I heard a loud bang, and I saw Luhan appear. He pushed the guy away, “What do you think you’re doing? It’s me you want, not her. Let her go!” The men started to laugh, the man with the gun aimed at Luhan. Luhan grabbed the gun away and started to fight. The other men joined in. while they were distracted I tried to take the ropes off.

I felt a hand grab me and pull me away. Was it one of the men that Luhan were fighting? I turned around and the neighborhood looked familiar. It was my neighborhood! Where was the person that pulled me? There was no one in sight; all I could smell were the blossoms again.

I saw a figure approach from the dark, he was limping. “Luhan!” I cried and ran up to him. His lip was bruised and his shirt was covered in blood. He fell to the ground. I helped him into my house and into my bed. He was still asleep. I decided to clean his face with a wet cloth. As I finished he awoke, he grabbed my hand and said, “ Sorry about that. Listen, I’m going to absent for a while. I have to take care of some things back home. But, please don’t talk to anyone, especially Kris. I’m sorry, they won’t bother you again, I promise.” He stood up in bed and grabbed my face. He gave me a kiss, but just then I remembered Kris.

(The Next Morning)

I awoke to find that Luhan had already left. There was a note on the nightstand. It read, “I’ll be back soon, don’t worry too much. P.S. I love you” I felt like there were butterflies in my stomach

I took the bus to school again, because I don’t drive. As soon as I got off, a shiny car pulled up. It was a Maserati! People started to gather. As I was getting closer to the car, the door opened and to no one’s surprise it was Kris. I heard the girls next me giggling so I decided to leave. However, I couldn’t help but feel like someone was watching me.

Kris sat behind me as usual. I tried to keep my focus but I ended up dozing off.

(Dream)

“Here, take this. I made it myself and I wanted you to try it Babe” Kris said as he handed me a drink. I took it from him and it tasted so good. I felt my head starting to spin. I felt week… A few minutes later I was slowly beginning to wake. I heard Kris’s voice and another man’s off at the distance. I heard Kris saying, “What are doing here again. I didn’t know we were in this kind of relationship that made you think that you can come and go whenever you want?” The other man said, “I wanted to see if the rumors where true. You have a girl now? What happened to the old one? She was cute.” I was getting curious and a peeked through the door. The man that Kris was talking to was shorter than him, but he looked like an angel. The man had a smirk on his face, “What do you think she’ll do when she finds out about you and your past? Come to think of it, life just got more interesting. I should meet her- ”Kris pushed the other man away. The man looked mad, “Well we’ll just see what happens. It’s not over Kris, I’ll be back and I’ll take everything away from you!” with that he stormed out of Kris’s house.

(Present)

I awoke to an empty class. I was shocked, I never slept in class. Someone coughed behind me, “it’s about time you woke up.” I turned to see Kris. He was the last person I wanted to see, I grabbed my bags and stormed out of class. Kris grabbed my hand and pulled me back, “Listen, why do you keep avoiding me?” I looked back at him, but he wasn’t worth it. I shook his hand off and started to walk away. He was next to me again, “What are you? A Stalker? Why do you keep following me? Get away from me you jerk!” Kris pulled me by my hands again, “Listen! Don’t trust him. Luhan is not who you think he is” I looked at Kris, his eyes looked sincere, but I didn’t care. I left him there and ran to the bus.

Arriving home I still had a few more minutes before I had to pick Eun Soo up. The house was empty and I decided to take a drink out of the fridge and relax on the sofa. As I was resting I remembered my dream. Come to think of it, why do I only remember only 3 days from the week I spent with Kris? Wait! Why was the guy he was talking to? He sounded familiar. His voice was angelic. Just then I got a text from the babysitter. I swiped the screen, my heard sank. I looked at the picture of me and Luhan on my home screen.

It couldn’t be! It can’t be! It was only a dream… no, I don’t believe it… no… was Kris talking to him? Was he talking to Luhan?
