It was a cold Thursday morning at the SNSD dorm. Taeyeon woke up feeling giddy as she was excited to spend the day with her girlfriend since they’re both free from work. The time day spend with each other got limited because of hectic individual schedules and during group activities, she can’t always talk to Sooyoung since they’d be obvious. Of course she has to interact with the other members as well. Plus, they’re placed in a certain order that they all have to comply with.

The SNSD leader is currently cleaning her and Sunny’s room, when she heard a distinct knock on the door. “Ne? Come in!” She said as she craned her neck to get a glimpse of the person at the door. She saw it was Sooyoung, as usual, with a huge grin on her face. Seeing the taller girl smiling so early is one of Taeyeon’s favorite parts of the day. She couldn’t help but reciprocate a smile too.

“Good morning baby!” Sooyoung bounced inside the room. “Hi! Good morning to you too!” The shorter girl chuckled as her girlfriend pulled her into a hug and gave her a peck on the lips. “Well aren’t you hyper today!”

“Of course! I can’t contain it any longer!” Sooyoung said eagerly. “I almost didn’t sleep last night!”

“Wae? What happened?” Taeyeon worriedly asked but Sooyoung’s smile broadened more. “Nothing! It’s just today is a special day!”

Special day?Taeyeon thought confused. What date is it today? It’s not our anniversary isn’t it? The Soshi leader went nervous at the thought that she had forgotten something that they should be celebrating right now.

As if reading her thoughts, Sooyoung decided to end her girlfriend’s misery and tell her what’s going to happen today. “Don’t worry! You haven’t forgotten anything.” Taeyeon’s features softened in relief. “Ugh, you had me worried there. So tell me why is today special?”

The taller girl looked down and connected her fingers, indicating shyness. “Since we’re both free today…” she said quietly, “I wanted to… take you out on a date.” Sooyoung, although hesitant and nervous, decided that she should be straight forward because the two of them haven’t spent a lot of time together recently. Although they can do it inside the house, she wanted Taeyeon all to herself, without the members prying, teasing, and guarding their every move as if they’d do something bad when the members are not looking. The taller girl wanted nothing more than to make her girlfriend happy and their relationship balanced and normal as much as possible.

“So…? Is that okay with you?” Sooyoung asked unsurely since the shorter girl hasn’t replied yet. “Of course! I’d love to Syoung!” Taeyeon replied enthusiastically and now as excited as her girlfriend.

“Yeay!” The taller girl clapped her hands childishly which earned a giggle from Taeyeon. “So where are we going?” She asked.

“It’s a surprise. But dress casually like the usual and put on some winter clothes. It’s kinda cold outside and I don’t want you to catch a cold.” The younger girl instructed. Taeyeon raised her eyebrows. “The usual meaning…? Like we dress when people could see us?” Sooyoung bit her lip and nodded in response. “Alright.” Taeyeon said.

“I’ll be back in 2 hours. Be ready by then okay?”

“Okay.” Taeyeon said as her girlfriend exited the room but was replaced by Sunny who just went inside.

“She’s up early today huh.” Sunny said tonelessly. She stared at her room mate whose expression she can only read as excitedly nervous. “Taeng? What’s up with you?”

“Sunny-ah! Help me pick clothes!” Taeyeon grabbed both her room mate’s shoulders, showing desperation. The shorter girl’s widened eyes from the sudden contact changed immediately to confusion. “Why do you need help for clothes? You always know what to wear.” Then a sudden realization hit Sunny. Taeyeon is only acting this way when… “Wait, did she ask you out on a date again?” The leader nodded shyly which made Sunny snort. “I swear Taeng! Aren’t you used to it by now? You still act like it’s your first date!”

“But Sunny, we only go out once a month and sometimes once every two months! I can’t get used to the feeling immediately. I feel more nervous right now than when we’re performing on stage!” Taeyeon said with panic in her voice. Feeling pitiful to the other girl, Sunny decided to help her as always, like a good room mate she is.

“Okay fine. But really Taeng, you don’t need my help, I’m sure whatever you’ll wear, Sooyoung will still be all over you, especially when you’re not wearing anything.” The joke made Taeyeon slap her room mate in the arm. “YAH!” Taeyeon shouted embarrassed and annoyed at the same time.

Sunny rubbed the stinging part of her arm where Taeyeon hit her. “HAHA, sorry! That was uncalled for. Well, I advice you should wear something thick since it’s cold outside.” Sunny now went to their closet to search for some clothes, eventually taking out the winter garments one by one. “So where are you two going anyway?” Sunny asked as she continued to rummage the closet.

“She won’t tell me. It’s a surprise.” Taeyeon replied.

“Ugh, Sooyoung really is such. Then wear this on the inside in case she brings you somewhere warm.” Sunny held out some casual clothes which is quite revealing but discreet at the same time. Taeyeon thought it was a good idea and took the clothes in her arms.

After they have sorted out the outfits, Sunny left the room after Taeyeon went out to take a shower at the bathroom in front of their bed room.

She saw the members who don’t have schedules hanging around the living room chatting quite seriously, namely SeoHyun, Yuri, Jessica, and Tiffany. Sunny managed to catch the conversation the other are deeply induced in.

“….So I heard they’re going out on a date.” Jessica said quietly. Sunny rolled her eyes. Of course the ice princess will know. She always knows. I don’t even know how she does it. Maybe she’s just pretending to be asleep but in reality she just wants to hear some gossip. Sunny thought to herself.

Hearing the SooTae couple will be out on a date, Tiffany had this uncomfortable feeling inside her. As the other members are talking about what to do so they can stalk the couple, Fany tried to hide her irritated and annoyed expression by wearing that famous eye-smile. All she wanted is to stop the other members on their scheme but at the same time she also has this weird urge to see what the couple will do. But it’s completely understandable since she has feelings for Taeyeon and even if she can’t do anything for now about the SooTae couple, she’ll just wait on the sidelines waiting to strike.

“Unnie, I don’t think this is a good idea.” SeoHyun said doubtfully. Leave it to the maknae to be a killjoy. Truthfully, SeoHyun doesn’t want to disturb her unnie’s privacy. Being in a secret relationship is hard enough, but her other unnie’s are stubborn as well.

“Don’t worry Seo. We’ll just follow them around! We won’t disturb them.” Yuri said reassuringly. The maknae just shook her head to her unnie’s antics. Sometimes they’re really immature. “Can I not go?” She asked.

“Suit yourself. Then it’s settled. We three are going…” Jessica looked at Yuri and Tiffany knowingly, and then she saw Sunny watching them at the corner of her eye. “Yah, Sunny~a do you want to join us?” The shortest member turned around and said, “No. I’ve seen enough of those two. But you guys should just drop it you know.”

Jessica rolled her eyes, “Fine, just don’t tell them! Especially Sooyoung. She’ll kill us.”

“Whatever.” Sunny deadpanned as she disappeared in the kitchen. “Keep your voices down though. I can hear you guys from here.”

The other members huddled once again to form a plan so they won’t be spotted when they initiate their plan to follow the SooTae couple.

After 2 hours, Sooyoung was already waiting outside Taeyeon and Sunny’s bedroom waiting for her girlfriend to come out. She checked her watch and she saw that if her girlfriend doesn’t come out within 10 minutes, they will be late for the bus. So she knocked impatiently on the door. “Hey guys, aren’t you coming out yet? We’re gonna be late.”

“Yeah, yeah, we’re coming!” Sunny yelled from the inside of the room. Just then, the door opened revealing an annoyed looking Sunny and a cute Taeyeon dressed fashionably in winter clothes. A huge smile appeared on Sooyoung’s face upon seeing her date, and the latter did the same. The taller girl took Taeyeon’s hand, simultaneously kissing her in the cheek. Before pulling away, Sooyoung placed near her girlfriend’s ear and whispered, “You look beautiful.”

Taeyeon blushed at the gesture but Sunny just rolled her eyes at the two. “Okay, okay… Before ants starts to eat your bodies, I think you two should go.” Taeyeon smiled appreciatively at Sunny which the other girl reciprocated. “Gomaweo Sunny~ah.. See you later.”

The couple made their way to the front door. Sooyoung looked around with a baffled expression which Taeyeon caught. “What’s wrong?” The two were outside of the dorm already before Sooyoung answered. “Nothing, it just felt weird. The other members are nowhere to be found.”

Taeyeon didn’t think too much about it and she doesn’t want her girlfriend to do the same so she grabbed the taller girl’s hand and said, “Don’t worry about them. Let’s just enjoy today okay?” Both of the girls beamed at each other. Sooyoung put the thought out of her head as she started to guide the way to the bus they’ll be riding to get to their destination.

Little did the couple know that the other members were already waiting outside of the building, of course with disguises, closely watching them.

“Where do you think they’re going?” Yuri asked to no one in particular. Jessica shrugged. “Who knows? But if Sooyoung planned this date, then for sure it would be weird and unexpected.”

Tiffany ignored the two and decided to ask the question that’s been bothering her for a while now. “Uhh guys, how do we follow them? If we get on the bus, they’d recognize us.”

Jessica smirked at Tiffany. “Fany, you are such an amateur. Of course we’ll be taking the cab.” Yuri furrowed her eyebrows, “But it would be more expensive!”

“Don’t worry Tiffany here has plenty of money. Isn’t that right Fany~ah?” Jessica teased suggestively. The other girl didn’t like the idea but what else could she do? She’s always been bullied like this. Sometimes only Taeyeon takes notice and defends her. That’s why she wanted to be with the girl so bad. “Fine. Just pay me back later or else.” She said defeatedly.

As the couple rode the bus, the trio hailed a cab and instructed the driver to follow the vehicle their friends took.

The SooTae couple boarded the bus and took the seats at the back that was luckily available. Taeyeon sat near the window and Sooyoung settled beside her. Automatically, they intertwined their fingers as the older girl leaned her head to the taller girl’s shoulders.

“No fair. I don’t get to do that.” Sooyoung said pouting. Taeyeon chuckled and said, “That’s because you’re taller than me and it’ll be uncomfortable for you. Besides, your neck would probably get stiff.”

“Hmf.” The younger girl faked her anger, which earned a giggle from her girlfriend. “C’mon if you really want to do it then lean on me.” The shorter girl motioned to remove her head on Sooyoung’s shoulder but the taller girl used her hand to place Taeyeon’s head to her shoulder once more. “I’m kidding. I like it like this. It feels warm and also… it’s like… you depend on me to protect you.”

Sooyoung felt Taeyeon smile at what she said. “That’s right.”

After 20 minutes at the bus, Taeyeon getting agitated finally asked the haunting question on her head. “So… will you tell me now where we are going?” The Soshi leader asked.

“Look outside the window.” Taeyeon did what she was told and through the foggy glass, she saw a huge Ferris wheel on a distance which instantly gave away the answer she was looking for. Her face lightened up like a child when she realizes, “The amusement park!” She said excitedly. Sooyoung nodded happily while her girlfriend enveloped her in a tight hug.
