Chapter 7

Don't Leave

I must warn you that this chapter is a mess like me right now. I dunno. I hope you still like it.

Thank you for all the reviews. Even though I don't get to reply to all of you, I want you to know that I appreciate it so much. :D

Sooyoung followed her girlfriend inside the dressing room. From the look in Taeyeon’s eyes, she knew something was wrong. So she intended to find out. After entering, she saw her girlfriend standing in the middle of the room. Although there were mirrors around, she still couldn’t see Taeyeon’s expression.

“Taeng?” She approached her girlfriend carefully. “Is something wrong?” Sooyoung asked.

Before she could reach the girl, she found herself being pushed down on the couch. (Yes, their dressing room has a couch.)

Sooyoung was sporting a puzzled look, while she let herself fall on the sofa. “Taeng?” She called out again, trying to get the girl’s attention. When she got a better look at the girl’s reaction, she saw that she had hooded eyes, which Taeyeon normally has when she’s upset about something. It frightened her because it reminded her of the time when Taeyeon was pissed during one of their performances on Music Bank. It was like the dark days. She literally had to make a fool of herself so that she would see Taeyeon smile at her (even though at that time, they were only friends).

“Hey are you okay?” She asked cautiously looking up to the girl who was standing in front of her. Taeyeon was avoiding eye-contact with the taller girl but Sooyoung sensed that her girlfriend wants to tell her something. “Why?” The shorter girl finally said in a whisper.

“Why what?” Sooyoung asked.

“Why are you having so much fun with Hyoyeon? Unlike me…” Taeyeon trailed off. Sooyoung did her best to put the pieces together, and when she did, a small smirk formed in her lips. Taeyeon saw it which made the leader pout more and looked like she was about to cry.

“Hey…” Sooyoung said softly. She tugged Taeyeon’s hands down gently and the shorter girl just went with it. The soshi leader was now sitting on Sooyoung’s lap, in other words, straddling her.

Even though their faces were just a few inches apart, Taeyeon was looking in another direction, trying to avoid Sooyoung’s searching and knowing eyes. The taller girl was wearing a small smile because she found the whole thing adorable. She then placed her hand in Taeyeon’s chin turning it to her direction.

“Kim Taeyeon. Are you jealous?” Sooyoung asked still smirking. Taeyeon didn’t respond for a while but she slowly nodded her head. Satisfied that she got the answer she wanted, Sooyoung started to get on Taeyeon’s good side.

“I’m sorry if I made you feel that way. Hyo and I were just being our goofy selves.” Sooyoung said while rubbing her girlfriend’s face gently. Their eyes never left each other. “And besides, you’re kinda busy with someone as well.” It was Sooyoung’s turn to look away. Taeyeon caught her girlfriend’s face in her hands and she cupped them. Taeyeon leaned in for a gentle kiss which sent jolts of electricity to both of the girl’s bodies.

When they pulled apart, Taeyeon said, “We were just talking.”

“Yep, I know. It’s just that I really want to spend time with you. But I couldn’t. So…” Sooyoung reasoned out. Taeyeon gave her a tight-lipped smile. “Me too. I just want this rehearsal to be over.”

“It will be soon.” Sooyoung assured her girlfriend. They sat there, foreheads resting against each other, while giving occasional kisses to anywhere they could reach. It was a good feeling, spending time together after hours of being away and being with another person they wished was their lover instead. It was straining but it was worth it when they finally get back to each other’s arms.

Because the two were busy playing around, Taeyeon still straddling Sooyoung, they didn’t notice that the some of the members were trying to get inside the dressing room. The doorknob turned and the door opened revealing Seohyun, Yoona, Yuri, and of course Tiffany. The members were stopped in their tracks as they saw the scene unfolding in front of them. There was nothing special going on but their eyes still widened except for Tiffany who averted her gaze to somewhere else, clearly pissed.

“What’s everybody doing standing at the door way?” Sunny asked curiously. She tilted her head to see what the others were looking at and she saw that her room mate and Sooyoung in a provoking position. “YAH! If you’re planning to do something, you could’ve at least locked the door!” Sunny yelled getting the attention of the Sootae couple.

Taeyeon blushed and Sooyoung rolled her eyes. “We’re not doing anything!”

“Yeah? I just hope Joohyun here doesn’t get nightmares later.” Sunny said as the members resumed moving about the room except for Seohyun who was still standing motionless at the doorway. Sunny patted her back and lead the maknae to sit down.

Meanwhile, Sooyoung patted Taeyeon’s to make the smaller girl get up and whispered. “Let’s continue this later.” Taeyeon had this goofy grin on her face but before she stood up, she placed her lips near the taller girl’s ears and said, “No more touching with Hyo, kay?” Then she kissed Sooyoung’s left cheek. The taller girl had her evil smirk once again and seductively looked at Taeyeon when the shorter girl headed towards the door.

Tiffany watched the two like a hawk and from her angle; she assumed that the two were planning something unspeakable later which made her chest tighten with suppressed anger and jealousy. She saw Taeyeon walk past her and then she looked back at Sooyoung whose eyes were on her.

Both couldn’t read the expression the other had but they knew something that only both of them could ever understand. It was unspoken but in the silence, it could be heard booming out loud. Tiffany composed herself, lifted her chin and stared intently at Sooyoung. The taller girl cocked an eyebrow, alert of what will happen. She saw Tiffany turn around and followed her girlfriend out the door.

“Taeng~!” Tiffany called out. “Wait up!”

The SNSD leader turned around and greeted Tiffany with a warm smile which made the brunette’s heart double its speed. “Yeah? What’s up?”

“Are you doing something later? I was wondering if you’re free. I’d like to go to that restaurant you introduced me to.” The slightly taller girl said fast. Taeyeon caught all of it and knitted her eyebrows together, hesitant. Even though she didn’t make a legit plan with Sooyoung, she still felt like they would do something later. But what Tiffany said made her think twice. “I know you’re busy with Sooyoung and all. But I miss you. You’re my best friend and I think we don’t spend much time together… Outside work.”

“Uhmm… I don’t know Fany, I’ll ask Sooyoung first.” Taeyeon said hesitantly. She saw the sad look Tiffany had and she couldn’t help but feel guilty and bad for the girl so she added. “I promise we’ll go out sometime okay? Just the two of us but I don’t think now is a good time. And I miss you too.”

With just those words, Tiffany replaced her frown with her famous eye-smile. “I’m looking forward to it.” Taeyeon reciprocated the smile. Without warning she felt two hands grabbed her shoulders and she realized she was enveloped by a hug from Tiffany. She didn’t think any of it and she hugged the girl back.

From the opened dressing room door, Sooyoung witnessed what happened. Her eyes widened when she saw that the girls were hugging. She tried to calm herself down because she doesn’t want Taeyeon to think she’s being overly possessive. Besides, her girlfriend just said she got jealous because of Hyoyeon. So she tried her best to think that it was just a friendly hug, although she couldn’t think of a reason why they have to do that.

Fan service. She thought. But as she convinced herself that, she saw Tiffany looking at her challengingly while hugging Taeyeon. Her girlfriend has her back turned from her, making her get a full view of Tiffany’s face.

Sooyoung almost stood up from her seat but she felt a hand stop her. “Don’t.” Sunny said calmly. The shorter girl was secretly watching what was happening as well. Sooyoung gave the her unnie a disbelieving look. “I know how you feel Soo, but not here. There are other people.” Sooyoung was breathing heavily trying to get away but Sunny has a point. “Look, Taeyeon told me what manager oppa said. If you don’t want your situation to get worse, try to control your feelings.”

Sooyoung tugged her arm away from Sunny. She didn’t want to cause any scene and she ated the thought that Tiffany would do something like that to her. She was their friend. She felt betrayed. All her rage was building up on her but she kept it bottled up. She thought of Taeyeon, their relationship, the other members, and the fans. She wasn’t that inconsiderate. Sure, they can do all the fan service they want but she won’t sit idly by waiting for Tiffany to snatch her girlfriend away from her. That’s the only thing she won’t ever allow to happen.

“Sunny told me what happened the other day. You did the right thing.” Hyoyeon said to Sooyoung quietly. They were sitting at the back of the bus where they use to tour around. They’re on their way for their last gig of the day so Sooyoung was totally exhausted physically and emotionally.

She sighed heavily. “I just want this day to be over.” She whined. Hyoyeon smiled at her. “Awwh.. look at our shikshin. Exhausted for making the right decisions.” Hyo teased the taller girl.

“YAH~!” Sooyoung shouted and they both burst to a fit of laughters. The other members turned to look at them but they eventually ignored them for it was a common thing for them to do. “I got an idea.” Sooyoung said. Even though she was tired, she wanted to release some stress so she came up with a stupid but fun idea. She stood up and Hyoyeon followed her, both trying to maintain their balance because of the unsteady movement of the bus.

Taeyeon looked on, worried that her girlfriend might get into an accident but she let her be. She didn’t want to move around much because she was sitting beside Tiffany who was fast asleep, almost leaning on her shoulder.

Sooyoung saw the position Tiffany is in. She looked at her girlfriend waiting for the other’s reaction. Taeyeon pouted and mouthed, ‘I miss you’, which earned her a smirk from the taller girl. She loves me, I don’t have to worry. Sooyoung thought. So she grabbed the bus’ microphone and continued with her antics. “Alright yo~! This is SY.” She gave the microphone to Hyo, “And this is HY. We’re going to entertain you tonight!”

The shikshin wanted to be loud so Tiffany would wake up, erasing her excuse to lean on her girlfriend’s shoulder. But still, the mushroom isn’t budging.

The other members cheered except for Jessica who moaned loudly because her sleep was being disturbed. “Shut up Sooyoung! I’m sleeping here!”

“Too bad for you!” Sooyoung yelled at the mic. She whispered something to Hyoyeon who whispered to the crew inside the bus.

When everything was set, Sooyoung happily announced, “Since we have like 2 hours before we arrive at… whatever.” The members laughed at her even though she wasn’t joking. “I’m going to sing a song to all of you while Hyo here, will dance. Feel free to join us.”

“Unnie, how can you dance in a moving bus?” YoonA said while laughing. “That is the power of the dancing queen.” Hyo said.

The music started and all the remaining members, except Tiffany and Jessica, immediately perked up just by hearing the intro of the song. They were all excited and laughing because all of them love the song.

They started clapping their hands while Sooyoung prepared to sing the first verse.

Geunyang pyeonhan neukkimi johasseo~

Joheun saramira saengakhaesseo~

Taeyeon let out her trademark ahjumma laugh at her girlfriend singing that song. She knew the taller girl started to love that song when she sang it on Chin Chin Radio a few years ago. She couldn’t help but look at her girlfriend adorably singing the chorus.

Oppa~! Naman bara bwa~

Babba geureohke babba~

Apa maumi apa~

Nae mam wae mollajweo?

The other members sang along with Sooyoung, clapping their hands to the beat. Taeyeon wanted to join in but she kinda wanted to respect Tiffany who was sleeping beside her. But just then, the brunette opened her eyes and looked around sleepily.

She met Taeyeon’s eyes and the leader gave her a tight-lipped smile, in an apologizing manner. Before Tiffany could say anything, Taeyeon stood up carefully from her seat and went down the aisle, to her girlfriend.

Sooyoung saw Taeyeon coming down the small space and she announced at the mic, “Let’s welcome the shortest SNSD member…” A pout was formed in Taeyeon’s face but is quickly replaced by a cheek-hurting smile when Sooyoung whispered to her ear so that the other people in the bus wouldn’t hear, “and the best girlfriend in the world.” She continued to shout in the mic “Kim Taeyeon!” The other members cheered and applauded except for two.

Jessica watched Tiffany carefully as the scene unfolded. The girl was clearly pissed off and not to mention her sleep was disturbed because of Sooyoung’s crazy ideas.

Tiffany sulked at her seat as Taeyeon took over and sang the song, when she felt someone sat beside her. She doesn’t need to know who it was. She just took the hand the other girl offered and she leaned on her shoulder. She felt warm hands her hair and she felt the need to cry.

The other girls were oblivious to what was happening behind them so they continued their mini concert and had fun before their performance.

“I’m so beat…” Sooyoung announced as she plopped herself on their dorm’s sofa. It’s 2 o’clock in the morning and they just arrived from their performance.

“Me too. Good night guys.” Sunny said walking towards her bedroom.

“Goodnight!” The other chorused as they all went to their respective rooms which left the Sootae couple alone at the living room.

“Why aren’t you going to bed yet?” Taeyeon asked her girlfriend.

“Jessica’s still using the bathroom so I need to wait for her to finish. You know how she takes a long time there.” Taeyeon nodded. “What about you?” Sooyoung asked.

“Nothing, I just want to spend more time with you.” Taeyeon cuddled against Sooyoung. The taller girl smiled and kissed her girlfriend’s forehead. After like a minute of comfortable silence, Taeyeon decided to break it.

“Hey, do you think I could go out with Tiffany?” The question caught Sooyoung off guard. Taeyeon waited patiently but the taller girl didn’t respond.

“Why do you need to go out with her?” Sooyoung tried to hide the annoyance in her voice but she failed. Taeyeon sensed it so she tried defending her stand. “It’s because we don’t get to go out anymore and I kinda miss her.”

“Is the time you spend during shows isn’t enough? You guys are always together lately so why is there a need to go out with her?” The taller girl doesn’t want an argument but due to her tiredness and stress, plus suppressed jealousy, she was starting to crack.

“She’s my best friend Sooyoung.” Taeyeon said trying to stay calm. She could sense her girlfriend being agitated and she was too.

“If there was a need for you to go out with somebody, it’s supposed to be with me!” Sooyoung shouted, unable to control herself. The anger is building up and even though she wanted to stop herself, she can’t.

Taeyeon was taken aback by Sooyoung’s sudden outburst. She didn’t understand what was happening. She hasn’t seen this side of Sooyoung before and she was scared. “Why are you acting like this? Don’t you trust me?!”

“I do! But I don’t trust Tiffany!” Sooyoung blurted out. Taeyeon’s eyes widened. “How can you say that?! She’s our friend, a member of this group! And I can’t let you guys get in a fight!”

“Is that all you care about? Because you’re the leader, you’re defending her?!”

“What are you talking about? Of course I think about the others! You are all my responsibility! Stop being so selfish and immature!!”

“Is that what you think of me? Immature?” Taeyeon didn’t know what to say. Right now everything is getting on her nerves. She wanted to cry out of frustration. Why is Sooyoung being so difficult? Taeyeon sighed heavily and said, “Right now, yes.”

“Fine.” Sooyoung dismissively said. She grabbed her jacket from the couch and walked out of the door slamming it in the now quiet room.

Taeyeon broke down almost after Sooyoung stepped outside. She felt a pair of arms enveloping her into a hug. “Shh.. It’s alright. Let it out.” Tiffany whispered comforting the other girl.

The song is called Oppa by Wax.

I know all of you are hardcore SooTae fans so maybe you know that they both sang that song waaay way back. (in separate events)
