Chapter 10

Don't Leave

Several knocks from the door made Tiffany wake from her slumber. Her sleep was shallow so she immediately heard the thumps someone was annoyingly making, causing her to lose her beauty rest. She didn’t budge from her position, thinking that the noise would just go away but it didn’t. Still, she was trying her hardest to ignore it. She closed her eyes again and waited for sleep to take over her.

When she was already on the verge of going back to dream land, a voice pulled her back from reality cutting her trip to the other world off.

“Fany~ah… Please open up.”

Tiffany sleepily marched to the door to open it revealing an irritated Jessica, clutching a pillow and a blanket in her hands.

“What…?” Tiffany questioned, confused why the girl was bothering her in this ungodly hour.

“Can I sleep over?” The ice princess asked hopefully.

“Sure.” Tiffany said, kinda hesitant but what else can she do? She then stumbled back to her bed, Jessica followed her from behind. The blonde girl locked the door while Tiffany the lamp on her bedside table.

The two settled down in Tiffany’s double sized bed, both facing the ceiling. The silence was not awkward but it kinda felt heavier than normal. Clearly, something needed to be resolved and Tiffany, despite her sleepiness, forced herself to talk to her new companion.

“So what brings you here? Did you have a fight with Sooyoung or something?” The brunette asked, trying to break the ice.

“Not really but I’m pissed because they kicked me out of my own room. I’m really sleepy and you know how I get when I’m like that. Although it was completely understandable since I think they need sometime to sort things privately.” Jessica mumbled in the semi-darkness.

Tiffany stopped listening after the word ‘they’. “What do you mean “they”?” She inquisitively asked although her mind already provided an answer for her.

“Sooyoung and Taeyeon. Who else?” Jessica deadpanned.

Tiffany sprung from the bed, throwing her blanket away from her body. She started to dart to the door when Jessica grabbed her wrists and pulling her onto to bed once more.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

“To your bedroom! Duh?” The brunette growled. She was seriously mad at the idea of Sooyoung and Taeyeon staying at the same bedroom. Tiffany felt that victory was slipping from her. Why does this have to happen now? When she and Taeyeon were getting along well and when she’s finally feeling confident that she has a chance of getting the Soshi leader back.

Tiffany was still battling off Jessica’s grip on her and the ice princes was getting tired and sore from stopping the girl who was struggling to be free. “Stop it Tiffany!!”

“Let me go Sica!” Tiffany whined stubbornly.

“No! You have to stay calm and stay here!” Jessica retorted, slightly out of breath from the impromptu exercise she was currently having.

“No! I SAID LET ME GO!” The scramble between the two continued and Sica was getting sick of it. Her patience was running low, not to mention the tiredness and sleep she was feeling didn’t help to calm her down. Tiffany was getting out of hand.

“YAH! HWANG MIYOUNG!!” The blonde finally shouted. Her raging voice echoed through the quiet room, which she hoped that the other members didn’t hear. At that point, Tiffany stopped moving and settled defeated beside her friend.

Through the quietness of the room, only hard sobs of defeat and heavy breathing were heard.

The SooTae couple was lying side by side at Sooyoung’s bed. The taller girl had her head propped up on her elbow so she would get enough leverage to look down on her beautiful girlfriend. While Taeyeon was also facing Sooyoung with her arms on her girlfriend’s waist and her legs were draped over the taller girl.

There was a content smile on both of their faces and the mutual feeling they shared, missing this predicament which they had been wanting for so long. Although, there were still important stuff to talk about which they tried hard to ignore but they just can’t.

“We really need to talk you know.” Taeyeon said as she tucked some stray her into Sooyoung’s ears.

“Yeah…” The taller girl said not tearing her gaze away from Taeyeon.

“I guess I’ll start first.” The Shikshin nodded her head and Taeyeon closed her eyes momentarily, getting ready of whatever she wanted to say to the girl beside her. “Don’t interrupt me okay?” She received a nod again from her girlfriend and she took a deep breath and said, “Sooyoungie… I… I’m really sorry.”

Taeyeon looked away for tears were threatening to fall from her eyes and she doesn’t want to cry yet because she knows when she does, she won’t be able to say everything she wanted to say.

“I’m sorry for hurting you. I’m sorry for being a bad girlfriend…” She said, never tearing her eyes from her girlfriend’s brown orbs.

“I’m sorry for doubting you. Us. This relationship means so much to me and I just thought that if I leave you I would be able to protect you but I was completely wrong. I’m sorry for not understanding whenever you have jealousy attacks or when you’re being moody. I didn’t see everything from your perspective and I’m really an idiot for letting Tiffany in, take me away like that from you.” Taeyeon heard her girlfriend sigh but she saw the girl was smirking. She couldn’t help but do the same despite the tears.

Sooyoung took the silence as a signal for her to say something. There were parts where she wanted to cut her girlfriend off but she thought it was best to let her finish just like what Taeyeon wanted.

“What made you realize that…” Sooyoung trailed off. She doesn’t know how to finish the question but Taeyeon caught up.

“I never really considered being with Tiffany silly. Why would I even do that?”

Sooyoung pouted slightly and said, “Well, because you two are really close and it seems like you’re having fun with her.”

“How about you and Hyoyeon? You two are also close but did you consider being with her?” Taeyeon asked challengingly although she already knows the answer.

“Ew. That’s just gross Taeng.” Sooyoung crinkled her nose at the thought. She slightly shivered which earned a giggle from Taeyeon.

“See? Tiffany’s just like my sister. But I do admit, sometimes thoughts like that enter my mind. Like earlier.”

“What do you mean?”

“When I was having a hard time getting my shoes off… I kinda expected Tiffany to help me but she didn’t. And you came even though I didn’t ask for your help.” A smile was formed on Sooyoung’s lips. “Well, I just compared the two of you and I felt like an idiot for doing so. And also I wanted to punish myself for not getting back with you like sooner.”

Sooyoung planted a kiss on Taeyeon’s forehead. And she whispered “Yeah… about that…. I’m sorry as well.”

Taeyeon didn’t respond so that Sooyoung would continue what she was saying.

“I did everything I could not to get jealous but really… I failed. I’m sorry for lashing out on you, for not talking to you when you wanted to talk. My pride is so out of control sometimes. I just get sick of seeing you two being like that every day even though I know it’s just for the fans. I just hate the thought of Tiffany getting close to you, knowing that she has feelings for you so… I guess I was just afraid that she’ll snatch you away from me.”

“But what I did was just stupid too, now that I think about it. I almost let you get away from me. I shouldn’t have let everything get worse. And I’m really happy and thankful that you’re still mine.” Sooyoung continued. Taeyeon smiled sweetly at her girlfriend.

“You are still mine right?” Sooyoung asked like she was trying to make sure that everything that was happening was real.

“Of course. I never left.” Answered Taeyeon.

They both shared a sweet kiss which lasted for a minute before they ran out of breath to continue. They smiled at each other, their eyes glowing of love and care which became stronger after all what has happened between them.

“So…” Taeyeon broke the silence.

“So…?” Sooyoung repeated questioningly.

“We’re still part of So Nyeo Shi Dae tomorrow… which means, I would be interacting with Tiffany again…” Taeyeon cautiously said, looking for assurance. When her girlfriend didn’t respond, she continued. “What will you do?”

“I’ll interact with Hyo as well. So… We’re kinda even.” Sooyoung said nonchalantly as if she didn’t care.

“Syoung….” Taeyeon whined. “What will we do?”

“We just have to trust each other babe.” The shikshin replied. “Though I’m not that confident with this plan but hey, we’re together and we know how we feel right? So… I think….” Sooyoung let her words linger as her face slowly erases the gap between the two of them.

“What?” The shorter girl said breathlessly, anticipating the feel of Sooyoung’s lips on hers.

“I think we should…”

Before Sooyoung could finish her sentence, their lips met halfway and started this dance that only the two of them know.

The kiss grew heatedly in time and the SooTae couple just couldn’t get enough of each other. Hands were roaming in every part that they were allowed to reach, their breaths become heavy, and their eyes were hooded, filled with love, desire, and passion.

This was it. The moment they were saving themselves up for. The moment every person who felt love wanted to experience with their partner.

This would definitely change the both of them. It will be the way of expressing their undying love for each other.

This will remind them to whom they belong. And of course, that would be with each other.

After 2 months…

“Hyoyeon! Seriously~ try not to goof around!” Sooyoung practically yelled at her friend for acting like a 5 year old. “We are running out of time!”

“Calm down! We got this!” Hyoyeon said with her trademark giggle.

“I think you should sit down first eonni. We got everything covered.” Seohyun said.

“Thanks Seo~ I don’t know what I’d do without you. These kids are crazy.” The older girl said referring to the other members. The maknae gave her an encouraging smile and then she left to help Yuri and Yoona with the table setting.

Sooyoung ran a quick inspection of the place. She rented a small gazebo on a rooftop of a nearby hotel to celebrate her and Taeyeon’s anniversary. She was also very thankful that the other members were willing to help and they were more excited than her because they rarely get to do this stuff, except for scripted variety shows.

There was a beautifully decorated table at the middle, courtesy of the YoonYul couple and the other decorations like the white roses were courtesy of Seohyun. Her outfit was chosen by Jessica and the red petals on the floor were Tiffany’s doings.

Speaking of Tiffany, Sooyoung saw she was approaching her at this moment.

The brunette smiled and said, “Hey, can we talk?”

Sooyoung stood up from her seat and both of them walked towards the secured railing of the rooftop. Both looking down on the busy street, the cold wind blowing on their faces.

Tiffany decided to speak up first. “We never really got to talk… you know… about the stuff that happened.” She said unsurely. The taller girl kept on listening.

“I just wanted to say I’m sorry for everything. I really think that you deserve Taeyeon more than I do. Just look at what you’re doing for her.” Sooyoung turned to her friend and she flashed a tight-lipped smile. “You’re a really great person Sooyoung. Make her happy.”

“I will.” With that, Tiffany hugged Sooyoung and the other girl hugged her back.

“Thanks for the petals by the way.” Sooyoung said sincerely.

“It was Jessica’s idea. I kept pestering her that I wanted to help in some way.” Tiffany replied while watching the other members having fun decorating and trying to make everything look good. Both of them laughed when Seohyun yelled at Hyoyeon for making a mess of the white roses the maknae carefully arranged.

“Speaking of Sica, how are the both of you doing?”

“After she confessed… well, I’m kinda surprised on how cheesy she is. Did you know that she was like that?” Sooyoung shook her head.

“It’s nice how love can make another person do stuff that you think they won’t do in their lifetime right?” This time, Tiffany nodded.

“Yeah. It’s wonderful.” They both stayed silent for a while. Tiffany’s phone went off and she saw a message from Sunny.

“Hey, Sunny said they will be here in less than 2 minutes. You ready? How are you feeling?” Fany asked the taller girl.

“Nervous but excited.” Sooyoung said with a smile on her face. “Thanks Tiffany.”

“No problem. Enjoy your evening!” Tiffany said as she started to gather all the members so that Sooyoung would be the only person left at the rooftop.

“CHOI SOOYOUNG! FIGHTING!!” The other members chanted which earned a chuckle from the ShikShin. They waved at her before they disappeared from the door.

“Hey you okay?” Sunny asked her room mate who was chewing her bottom lip and fiddling with her hands for the past 5 minutes. They were riding a cab to the hotel and Sunny was the one designated to get Taeyeon to the place around 7 PM.

“Don’t be nervous Taeng. It’s just your anniversary.” Sunny said, trying to comfort her friend. If you would call that comforting.

“I know. But I can’t help but be nervous. I don’t even know if I’m nervous.” Taeyeon spoke quickly.

“C’mon. it’s not like Sooyoung would propose to you!” Taeyeon looked at Sunny with wide eyes. “Sunn…”

“Look, I’m kidding! You’re just gonna have dinner. Relax!” Sunny tried her best to soothe her friend but to no avail.

They arrived at the hotel just on time. They both proceeded to the elevator and Sunny pressed the 12th floor and the button the leads to the rooftop. Taeyeon noticed. “12th floor? Who’s on that floor?”

“The other members booked a hotel room there so I’m going. You head to the top floor ‘kay?”

The elevator dropped Sunny off the 12th floor and the Soshi leader finally arrived at the rooftop. Her heart was pounding and the cool night wind was very helpful for she was sweating because of nervousness.

She walked slowly towards the gazebo and she saw rose petals around the place. She smiled to herself and after a few more steps, she saw the person she was dying to see all night.

The girl’s back was turned away from her, but she slowly turned around just in time for their gazes to lock. They both smiled and walked towards each other.

“Hi.” Taeyeon greeted.

“Hey.” Sooyoung said.

“Cool place. Everything looks so pretty.” The leader said while she turned her head from left to right examining the place. “Why are there so many rose petals?”

“Tiffany got carried away. I thought we’re going to dance ‘The Boys’” Sooyoung joked and Taeyeon let out her trademark ahjumma laugh.

“Well then, shall we…?” Sooyoung held out her hand and her girlfriend took it. She led Taeyeon to the table but before they sat down, the taller girl held the soshi leader in place. She then locked eyes with her and said,

“Happy Anniversary Kim Taeyeon.”

Taeyeon let out a cute killer smile and responded, “Happy Anniversary. I love you.”

“I love you too.”

They both shared a passionate kiss which made them feel both light-headed. They broke the kiss and gave each other sweet smile.

“Thank you for everything Sooyoung.” The taller girl continued to smile and she let out a contented sigh.

“Promise me one thing Taeyeon.”

“Anything.”

“Don’t ever leave me.”

“I won’t. I will never leave you.”

The end.
