Chapter 1

Don't Leave

It’s almost a year since Taeyeon and Sooyoung started dating. Everything is going well between the two lovers. Their relationship hasn’t been open to the fans due to certain publicity reasons but their family and friends had been very supportive of them which the two have been very thankful for.

It’s a lazy evening. The Sootae couple is lounging at their dorm’s veranda (in Taeyeon and Sunny’s bedroom). Sooyoung hovering over the shorter girl Taeyeon, with the former’s hands on the latter’s waist, enjoying the comfortable silence. But it was broken by an audible sigh coming from the Soshi leader.

“What’s wrong baby?” Sooyoung asked her girlfriend. Taeyeon mentally smiled at the pet name. Though it’s been a long time since they got together, her body still produces goose bumps whenever Sooyoung is all mushy with her. Maybe it’s because she’s the only one who gets to see this side of the shikshin, and that’s what makes her feel more special.

“Nothing. I’m just so happy right now… With us like this.” Taeyeon said contentedly. She could feel that her girlfriend was smiling because of her statement. “Me too.” Sooyoung crooned. “I don’t know what I’d do without you.”

“Same here. Promise me one thing.” Taeyeon turned around so she was facing her girlfriend, looking up rather. Their eyes met. Both can see adoration and love emitting from each other. “Don’t ever leave me.”

The tanned girl smiled and caressed Taeyeon’s cheeks gently and lovingly. “Don’t worry. I won’t.” Sooyoung assured.

The taller girl leaned forward and kissed her girlfriend on the lips, both closing their eyes at the contact. The kiss was supposed to innocent but neither has the intention to break it off. Their lips moved in rhythm with each other, soaking up the warm feeling coming from their bodies. Taeyeon clenched Sooyoung’s arms as the taller girl grabbed her girlfriend’s neck to deepen the kiss. A soft moan escapes from the leader’s mouth which gave Sooyoung more confidence to not break the slowly heating kiss.

Cupping Taeyeon’s face, the shikshin quicken the pace of their movement, but also careful not to scare her lover away. Her girlfriend seemed to sense where the situation was going so without second thoughts; she opened slightly, granting Sooyoung’s tongue entrance. The taller girl took the opportunity, as she slowly entered her tongue to explore Taeyeon’s mouth which elicited whimpers from both of them.

Kissing like this teleported the girls to another dimension, in their own universe. Where they can still feel every bit of touch, hear every beat their hearts make, and feel the electricity the seemed to flow in both of their bodies. The two girls haven’t accustomed yet to this new sensation but they sure as hell are enjoying every moment of it.

Time stood still, they didn’t know how long they were standing there making out in the cold night air. It doesn’t matter how cold the wind is. As they were not aware of anything else; to them, everything ceases to exist.

But an unwelcome noise broke the barriers they’ve set up from the outside world. Surely in a dorm consisting of 9 girls, a moment of privacy is truly rare. Taeyeon and Sooyoung broke off from the kiss, mouths reddened from the contact. They both stared annoyingly to the source of the noise.

“Uhh.. As much as I don’t want to disturb this make out session, we kinda have an early schedule tomorrow. So if you please Sooyoung, get out of our room. Thank you!” Sunny said, faking the disgusted tone from her voice. Though she may have screamed and find this situation gross, she grew accustomed to it by now, seeing it everyday, she doesn’t have much of a choice does she? She heard Sooyoung sigh out of disappointment like every time they were caught.

“You always ruin the moment Sunny-a~” The taller girl said.

“Now c’mon get out.” Sunny grabbed Sooyoung’s arms and uses both of her hands to push the shikshin out of the door.

“Alright! Alright! I’ll just say goodnight to Taeng~!” Sooyoung complained halfway across the room. Taeyeon was also inside the room now reaching for her girlfriend. “Goodnight Syoong.” The shorter girl said sweetly. Sooyoung gave her a hug and whispered to her ear, although Sunny heard it too, “Jalja yeobo.” Taeyeon giggled and Sunny rolled her eyes and scoffs.

When the taller girl was out of the room, Taeyeon saw her room mate staring at her with disbelief. “Really? Yeobo?? When did that start?”

Taeyeon smiled at Sunny’s annoyance, and started settling herself on her bed. “She insists on calling me that. I think it’s cute though.” Her smile broadened when Sunny stood up motioning to turn off the lights. “It’s still weird for me seeing Sooyoung like that. Her sweet side never fails to amuse me. Consider yourself lucky.” The shorter girl said as the room went black. Oh I do consider myself lucky. Very much indeed. Those were Taeyeon’s last thoughts before she drifted off to sleep.

Tiffany walked sleepily to the dining area. She’s glad she doesn’t have anything on her schedule today. It’s been weeks since she really had a decent rest but she still likes waking up early. Her view is still blurry from sleepiness but she couldn’t be mistaken that the girl sitting in the dining table is Kim Taeyeon.

She approached the leader quietly, not wanting to disturb her. It was silly. The girl is only eating. Tiffany didn’t realize she was staring until the slightly shorter girl called her attention. “Fany-ah, what are you doing standing there? C’mon join me for breakfast.” The soshi leader said cheerfully. Fany head to the table hesitantly. She sat on the opposite side of Taeyeon, not tearing her eyes away from the girl. Taeyeon is staring at her phone, a stupid smile plastered on her face. Only one person can make her smile like that. “Is that Sooyoung?” Tiffany asked while grabbing some hotdogs and eggs on the main plate at center of the table.

“How did you know?” Taeyeon asked confused. Tiffany didn’t reply, instead she started eating her breakfast. “Am I really that obvious?” The shorter girl asked. Fany just nodded her head without looking at the older girl.

“Where is she anyway? As well as the others?” Tiffany inquired, sensing the quietness of their normally chaotic dorm.

“Everyone has schedules or somewhere to go to except me, Jessica, and you. But I think Sica is going somewhere later.” The leader said knowingly. She keeps track of the others’ schedules, being the eldest and the most trusted person of their manager. It’s not really her responsibility but she likes being informed on her members’ whereabouts.

Tiffany nodded again at what Taeyeon said. Then it hit her. Sooyoung isn’t here? And if Jessica is going somewhere then she’d be alone… with Taeyeon? Her heart pounded at the thoughts that plagued her head. Ever since the Sootae couple started dating, her and Taeyeon didn’t have much bonding time together. Sooyoung is always by her side to Tiffany’s annoyance. She likes the shikshin but she resents the fact that the taller girl managed to steal Taeyeon away from her.

No one knows of course that Tiffany secretly likes Taeyeon. All those Sones call ‘fan service’ aren’t fan service at all, if Tiffany has anything to say about it. It was real. She wants do it. Because it’s with Taeyeon. The only girl she’s comfortable being around with, maybe except for Jessica. But the girl is so freaking cold; Fany doesn’t even know how to interact with the ice princess sometimes. That’s why she loves being around Taeng. She’s understands Tiffany more than the others. She’s always been there whenever she needs help with coping up with the Korean culture, teaching her new stuff, and defending her when Sooyoung, YoonA, and Hyoyeon decides to joke around with her. She completely trusts the soshi leader that’s why she still can’t accept that Taeyeon chose the violent girl over her cute eye-smile.

“What are you thinking about so hard?” Tiffany heard Taeyeon say. See? The girl can even read her emotions! Her heart is full of regret that she didn’t do anything to get Taeyeon. But she never did considered Sooyoung as a threat. She didn’t even know that their leader has the hots for one of their members, especially on the younger ones. Taeyeon never mentioned it once during their late night or drunken conversations. Does she really like Sooyoung? Maybe she’s just blinded by the feeling that someone wants to take care of her. But I can do that too. I’m more mature than Sooyoung and I have more experience in love. Tiffany thought.

“Why do you like her?” Taeyeon cocked an eyebrow at Tiffany’s question.

“Who? Sooyoung?”

“Uhuh.” Tiffany breathed, anticipating the shorter girls answer.

Taeyeon sigh-smiled and got lost in her thoughts. After a few moments, she decided to just give Tiffany what her brain keeps telling her. “I don’t know.” She said with a satisfied grin on her face.

Tiffany’s brows scrunched up. “What do you mean you don’t know?” She doesn’t even know why she likes her??

“Well, isn’t it like that? You love the person just because they are them. I see Sooyoung probably the same way as you see her. There isn’t supposed to be a reason, I think. If there is, I really don’t know where to start.” The soshi leader said confidently.

Tiffany got confused even more at Taeyeon’s answer. “So you like her coz she’s loud, violent, whines a lot, and is always hungry?”

“Pretty much.” Taeyeon laughed at her member’s description of her girlfriend. “But there’s more to it.”

“Enlighten me.” Tiffany challenged, not giving up on the subject. She wants to know all she can so she’d be aware of what she’s up against. And really, Taeyeon is making it difficult for her.

“Fany-ah… You’ve been in love before right?” Tiffany didn’t respond but Taeyeon took that as a yes so she continued, “If you’re asked to describe why you love that person, what would you say?”

The other girl automatically thought of describing Taeyeon. It was easy, but she can’t blurt it out in front of her. So she just said, “That’s hard.” Even though it’s not.

Taeyeon gave her a knowing smile and stood up from her seat and went to the living room. Does that mean she doesn’t love Taeyeon that much? Because she can describe why she likes her? That’s nuts. Tiffany is definitely not convinced.

Her inner rant was disrupted by the sound of Taeyeon’s laughter coming from the lounge. The mushroom, curious, checked out what their leader is up to. She saw that the shorter girl is watching TV, a pre-taped MBC show where they were the guests. Unmistakably, it was Sooyoung on the screen, making her imitations and belting out jokes here and there with Hyoyeon. If the taller girl’s humor is a factor for Taeyeon to be attracted to her, Tiffany can do that. She can be funny if she wants to. But she’s not vocal like Sooyoung. Also, the other members find her humor weird since she didn’t grow up here. She sighed to herself giving up the thought.

“Hey! You look like a creeper standing there.” A dull voice startled Tiffany. She turned and saw it was only Jessica.

“You look like a zombie.” She said to the sleepy girl in English. Whenever they have a chance, Jessica and Tiffany converse in English, as so not to lose their accents and forget some English words. They consider it as practice and a luxury to speak without the fear of someone listening in to their private conversations.

“Why are you spying on Taeyeon?”

“I’m not spying. I was just curious what she’s laughing at.” Unconvinced, but she let it slide, Jessica went to the bathroom to have her alone time.

Tiffany sat on the couch beside their leader but not too close. She tried channeling her attention to the television but she just couldn’t. In her peripheral vision, she can see that Taeyeon was texting every now and then, and she doesn’t have to guess who the person on the other side is. With much jealousy and defeat, she wallowed into her growing sadness and scowled at the program they were watching.
