KAI
*
Kai was in the middle of Noon Prayer when he heard impatient knock on his beach shack. He ignored it, and try to focus with his prayer but then it became so irritating and annoying when the sound followed by a shout in foreign language which made his eyebrows furrowed in curiosity. He grumbled lowly at the distraction and stopped abruptly from worshipping the God. Peace and freedom were his reason to live in this remote village, far from city’s noises and crowds. Even his secretary, Sehun, knew it well not to disturb him in his solitude.
So while still wearing his white shirt and sarong, he approached the door and yanked it open to a sight of a beautiful boy in short and spiky blond hair, smiling giddily while squealing a ‘hi’ and asked about his name,
“Hi, umm… are you Kai?”
“Wrong house.” He replied in fluent English, smoothly lying to the attractive blond. He didn’t know why he had to lie in the first place. He’d only smell trouble from this boy and he hated trouble just as much as he hated strangers. So Kai pointed at the shack next to his, which belongs to a widow with her three little kids, while wondering if the Blond will be feed by his lie.
“Ups, I’m sorry.” The blond giggled again, now in shame, “My brother mentioned his friend who lives here and asked me to find this guy, but he’d only give me the village name so I don’t really know exactly where this man lives… oh, btw I’m Luhan.” The stranger then gave Kai a hand to shake and he just stared at it, while translating the words into his brain, and can’t help but getting interested more with this person. However, Kai just nod, cause he’s already cleaned up and touching the blond will be risky. He didn’t know if Luhan was also a Moslem, and if he’s not, Kai will need to clean up again before the prayer.
Luhan seemed disappointed with Kai’s gesture but the blond gave an understanding nod and a small smile, “then, good bye.”
Kai watched as Luhan walked down the narrow stairs of his shack, now his heart filled with guilt as he saw the hunched back and overheard a tired sigh. What possessed him, he didn’t have idea but when Luhan reached to carry his pink travel bag which was rested on the sand, Kai was already stood near and grab it for him, “I’m just kidding.” He said softly, while giving an apologetic smile to the now stunned blond, “It’s nice to see you. My name is Kai.”

LUHAN
*
Before Luhan met Kai, he was prepared to see someone around his father age, probably an Indonesian fisherman he saw from TV with thick moustache and wide grin, posing next to his precious sailing boat while facing the promising sea. But no, the first impression of Kai was turning his mind blank and made Luhan stilled into statue.
He knew from some friends, Indonesian men are exotic but Luhan didn’t know they could be THIS hot! He meant, Kai didn’t look like what he imagined about them, the hell, he doubt Kai was from this world when he saw how perfect the man was in his humble white shirt and this traditional cloth. Luhan wasn’t even gay but his mind can’t stop fantasizing dirty things with Kai and his mouth can’t stop drooling over the man’s grumpy expression.
He didn’t even angry when Kai fooled him. He guessed he deserved it, since he could only stare dazedly at Kai's accented English, instead being aware that the man was the only person in this village who could converse with him. Other villagers he found on his way to this shore were only gave him strange look, or worse, running away like he bared contagious disease or something.
“So, why are you here?”
Luhan accepted a big glass of warm tea with a thankful heart. He finished it in one go, now he could feel how thirsty he was after three-hour walking from the bus stop. Then, he turned at Kai who sat next to him on this rattan couch, or bed, Luhan can’t decide because it’s the only surface they could sit in this crumpled place.
“My brother’s name is Kris. He was a volunteer doctor during the Tsunami and he said a lot about you.” at hearing Luhan’s brother name, Kai reacted by grumbling lowly in familiarity and somehow it made the blond smiled excitedly, knowing that he’s going to the right place and meeting the right person. “He said you helped him a lot finding his faith back. He said, you loved your God so much, it moved his heart to do the same with his.”
“No, you’re wrong.” Kai said grumpily, “I’m just a common man, worshipping my God in what had been taught to me.”
Luhan laughed, “wow, that’s precisely what I want to know.” And when Kai gave him a questioned look, the blond continued with, “Unlike my brother, I’m an Atheist. I don’t believe God was existed, but lately there are unanswered questions bugging me and my brother suggested me to find you cause he believed you had the answers for me.”
Now Kai was the one who turned still, but only for a moment before the man whispered dryly,
“Man, you’re crazy.”
