Chapter 1: Hired.

Yeojin’s POV

“Yeojin, have you done your homework?” my mom asked me.

“Yes, mom,” I answered and came close to her. She was busy washing the dishes. I took the plates that had been cleaning by my mom and rinsed them.

'I’m the only child in my family. My dad works as a driver in Lee’s home while my mom is a housewife. Sometimes she works a part time job as a housekeeper in Lee’s house too. My dad’s healthy is not really good. We are poor and only depend on Lee’s family. My parents have told me that Lee’s family is really nice even they’re rich. And me? I’m 17 years old and still studying. I feel sorry to my parents. They work really hard to pay my school fees. I think it's the time that I should get a job to help them.'

“Honey, Yeojin, I’m back,” my father called us as he stepped into the house. I woke up from my thought. I must tell them about my plan.

“Mom, dad, I feel sorry to both of you. I think maybe I should find some job to help our family,” I told them. They shocked hearing that and then looked at each other. They probably didn’t believe what I’ve just told them.

“But Yeojin, you’re still studying. Don’t it’ll affect you academic?” my dad said.

'I know they're worried so much about me but I don’t want to do nothing.'

“Don’t worry dad, mom. I’m not a kid anymore. I know how to manage my time but please allow me to work,” I begged them. They looked at me once and then looked at each other again.

“We'll allow you to work, Yeojin. But make sure you don’t forget to study,” my dad said to me.

“Thanks dad, mom. I really love you both,” I thanked them and kissed their cheeks.

“Yeojin, I heard Mr Lee want to hire a new maid. Why don’t you work with him?” my dad suddenly told me. I felt happy hearing that.

'At least I know I have a chance.'

“Really, dad? I’ve no school tomorrow. Maybe I should follow you to his house tomorrow morning,” I said to him and then all of us went to sleep.

'I really can’t sleep tonight. I keep thinking about the “maid” job that my dad has told me just now. I must grab this chance.'

Tomorrow morning, my dad and I went to Lee’s home. As I reached there, I was amazed with the beauty and the size of the house. It was really huge. My mouth opened a bit but quickly was covered by my dad’s hand.

IT'S SO EMBARASSING!!!

I smiled sheepishly to him and he just shook his head.

“Let’s meet Mr Lee. But please don’t do something unpleasant okay,” my dad told me while lifting his left eyebrow. I nodded my head, giving a sign that I understood his WARNING.

I was amazed once again as we entered the house. All the furnitures inside the house look really expensive.

'This is not a lie. They are really rich as my parents have told me.'

We arrived at one room and my dad knocked the door. I heard a man’s voice from inside, telling us to come in. We entered the room and I saw he was writing something.

'He looks serious but I can tell that he is really handsome and smart even he is old.'

He looked up to see us.

“Oh Mr Choi, please have a sit. But who is this pretty girl?” he asked my dad while looking at me. I just smiled hearing that.

'This is the first time people praise on me. He is really nice I guess. He has a wonderful smile.'

“This is my daughter, Yeojin. I heard that you want to hire a new maid and by chance my daughter want to find a job. I thought maybe she can work here,” my dad told him. He just looked at me and smiled.

“How old are you?” he asked me.

“I’m 17 years old,” I answered him.

“You are too young but why do you want to work?” he asked me again. I just smiled to him. I knew he will ask me this question.

“Yes, I know but I could not bear anymore looking my parents working so hard to raise me alone. My dad is not really well. I’m really worried about him. That’s why I want to find a job,” I said to him and looked at my dad. My dad just smiled hearing that and held my hand. I didn’t notice that Mr Lee was looking at us.

“Yeojin, you can start working today. But during school days, you can come here after the school end. Do you have any problem?” he asked me. His word really shocked me.

“Really? No... No Sir, I’ve no problem. Thank you, Sir,” I thanked him and hugged my dad. I was happy thinking that I can help my parents.

“Mr Choi, please bring Yeojin to Miss Han and then she will tell her what she has to do here,” he told us. My dad nodded his head and we left the room. I can’t stop myself from smiling.

Mr Lee’s POV

'She looks like a nice girl. Maybe she’ll change my son’s attitude one day.'

I smiled thinking about her.
