The Married Life of Kim Taehyung

"Good morning, love." was what I used to wake up to.

The obnoxious beeping of the alarm clock jolts me awake.

That is what I wake up to now.

I groggily roll over onto my stomach and swat the snooze button with my left hand.

"5 more minutes.." I sigh, pulling the covers over my head.

"Mommy! Mommy!" Taekwon yells, barging into Taehyung and my room. My child climbs up on the bed, and bounces on the mattress.

"Wheee!~" He screams happily. "Weekend! Weekend! Weekend!"

"What?" I say, sitting up.

"Yay!" Taekwon cheers and jumps on me. "Yah!" I shout angrily. I push him off and stare at the glowing red numbers of the digital clock.

7:02 AM, it reads.

On the far left corner, Saturday comes up.

"Saturday." I say slowly. "Mmhm, umma!" Taekwon nods enthusiastically.

I glance over to the spot where Taehyung should've been sleeping on and realize that he isn't there. "Where's appa?" I ask Taekwon, gently, knowing my little man's tendency to wake up in the middle of the night.

"Um.." Taekwon's lower lip jutts out as his eyebrows crease in thought. "When I waked up daddy was talking on the phone. And then he went into mommy and daddy's room, put on clothes and left."

"Do you remembered what time you woke up?" I prompt, subtly, while trying to supress a broad smile.

My little man was just too cute.

He rubs his eye and frowns. "Uh...4:17..I think."

I lean close and give him a loving peck on the cheek, "Thank you, little one. For that, do you want some patbingsu today?"

His eyes grow large, "Really?"

"Really." I repeat.

"Saranghaeyo, umma!" Taekwon cheers, diving into my open arms.

My child always gives me a reason to smile, but I couldn't deny the fact was annoyed at Taehyung.

Leaving without a note?

He always leaves one no matter how tired he is.

But what Taekwon tells me makes Taehyung's actions seem sketchy.

I yawn and Taekwon shrieks but then dissolves into giggles. "Morning breath! Ewww!~~" He laughs, and runs out of the room. I smile at my child's disappearing figure and climb off the bed.

I strech a bit and head to the bathroom. My eyes dart to the finished tube of toothpaste sitting uselessly near the sink, I shake my head and throw it into the trash can. I make a mental note to buy some more toothpaste when I go grocery shopping.

I exit the bathroom after my morning routine. Taekwon sits in one of the breakfast bar stools, patiently waiting.

I grab his favourite oreo cereal, I only allow him to eat once a week due to it's sugariness. It's sometimes empty when I find it, Taehyung likes to snack on it while watching TV. I smile at the thought, but immediately surpress it.

The minature oreos tumbles into the bowl I placed out after I got the milk from the fridge. I pour milk over it, and put it in front of Taekwon, who stares at it, hungrily.

"Wait." I say, sternly.

He pouts, but obeys.

I pluck a stainless steel spoon from the dishrack and hand it over to Taekwon. "Thank you, umma." He says, and starts to scoop up the cereal. He slurps and chews, messily.

He finishes the cereal what seemed like in a blink of an eye. I wash the bowl and put it over the dish rack so it can dry. Taekwon waddles to his room, and I trail behind him. I pick out a shirt and pants for Taekwon, while he undresses himself.

He raises both his arms, so I can slip the t-shirt through his head and arms easier. I take his pants and it, he steps into the legs and pulls it up himself. My fingers reach for the button, but he pushes my hand away.

"I can do it." He claims.

After Taekwon grins and spreads his arms, like, TADAH!

I shake my head, and laugh. I kiss him lovingly on his forehead. He runs out to the living room, and I hear a click. A squeaky, comical voice echoes across our home, and a weird sound effect like a spring being clenched and released follows after that. Taekwon's cheery laughter wafts around the room.

He must be watching television, I think to myself.

I pick up his pyjamas that were on the floor and fold them neatly before placing it on the foot of his ikea bed.

I pop my head out to check on him, before walking to Taehyung and my room.

The familiar surroundings remind me of all our good memories. The walls are painted a warm mauve with 2 white horizontal stripes. One on the bottom and the other at the top.

The sheets on the bed is black and white with this wheat looking pattern. I remember going to the department store with TaeTae and picking out the stuff for our new home, a gift from Big Hit Entertainment, or JYP, I don't remember who gave it, but it techinically is the same thing.

I flop onto the bed and sigh.

A/N: This scene is set in the past so will be written in past tense, approximately 3-4 years ago, they are newly wed, but Taekwon hasn't been born yet.

After multiple hours of strolling through the gigantic department store in the shopping district, Taehyung's calloused hand entwined with mine. "The colours are that, um, purple colour I can't remember, black and white, aren't they?" He asked.

I nodded, subconciously while staring at the different styled beddings. I turned my attention back to him, "Yeah. But that purple colour, it's called mauve. Purple is a lot more darker and has less grey tones than mauve."

Taehyung stifled a laugh, "They're basically the same thing, babe." I rolled my eyes at him, jokingly. "To you they are." He shot me a knowing look, and stole a kiss from my lips. I glared at him without meaning it, trying to ignore the fact that I was blushing hard.

Really hard.

"My Yura is so cute when she is embarassed!~" He cooed, and curled a tendril of my dyed brown hair behind my ear. I pouted, and then pointed at one of black and white beddings I had spotted in the corner of my eye. "That one looks nice, let's go check that one out."

He smiled, "Okay."

We both walked up to the bed that was displaying the sheets, and I knitted my brows together. "What's wrong, honey?" He asked, mirroring my action. Taehyung looked at bedding, then back to me.

Looked at the bedding. Me. The bedding. Me.

"Uh..baby, I don't know about this one..." I bit my lip, and tilted my head to the left. "What's wrong with it?" He made a face. I opened my mouth to answer, but Taehyung cut me off.

He let go of my hand and placed a sassy hand in front of my face.

"Wait! Oh, is it because it's not the correct shade of black? Or is the white too yellow?" He mused.

I narrowed my eyes at him, playfully and punched him lighty. "No, you idiot. That's not what's wrong with it!"

My boyfriend husband sat on the bed, and bounced a few times like the man child he is. "Seems okay to me." He vocalized. I plopped next to him, "The price is a bit iffy, Tae.."

"Really, Yura?! Really the price is what you're worrying about?" Taehyung exclaimed, holding his two arms out. I shrugged, "Well, I mean, it is kinda expensive for some bed covers."

"I like this one." Taehyung smiled, "There are some good points about this one, but bad points about it."

I crossed my arms, and raised a brow. "That is...?"

He cleared his throat, and put up 1 finger.

"Good stuff about this bed cover. Number 1, it matches the colour scheme of our bedroom."

"Number 2, the material is really soft."

"3, the design is nice."

"4, it's 20% off, and if you buy it the pillows, it becomes 30% off."

"5, the pillows are comfortable."

"That is all for the good stuff."

I couldn't help but laugh at his little pros and cons. "That's all?" I said, trying to supress my giggles. "Nope!" He responded, popping the 'p'

"Ahem. The bad stuff about this bed cover. The first con and the last-" He leaned into my ear, and whispered in a seductive tone. "If gets on the bedsheet, it'll be extremely noticable...ugh.."

I clicked my tongue, and rolled my eyes. Heat rushed to my cheeks, I looked away before my husband could notice I looked like a tomato.

"So clearly the pros outweigh the cons!" Taehyung stated, "We're getting it! And I'm paying for it." He quickly caught the attention of an employee and bought the sheets before I could say anything.

My mouth dangled open, as I stared at Taehyung, emotionless. He held the shopping bag with the pillows up, and smiled, sheepishly.  I readjusted my crossbody bag, and grabbed one of the pillows and whacked him with it.

"Yahh!" He yelped, trying to block the attack with his arm. "I just bought you some super expensive bed covers, and you're hitting me with a pillow? Is that any way to treat your lover?"

I shoved the pillow back into the shopping bag, and huffed. "We could have chosen a cheaper alternative, y'know!"  I enveloped him into a hug, sulking to myself.  "I didn't even like that much."

I felt Taehyung my hair, softly and say, "Who are you kidding, Yura? I know my wifey well, and I can tell she wanted the bedding."

"Thank you, Taehyung-ah."

"I love you, Yura." He told me, and kissed the top of my head.

"I love you too, Tae." I breathed.

+++

That night, Taehyung and I cuddled in the darkness. In the newly purchased bedsheets, we just laid there. Silent.

I could feel his body heat.  His breaths, the quiet hammering of his heart. It was all oddly soothing.

I loved every single millimetre of him.

"Taehyung..." I whispered quietly. I looked up, when I heard no response. "Taehyung." I repeated. I slowly got up, and realized he had fallen asleep. "Good night, Love." I said, barely above a whisper.

I leaned in, and kissed him on the cheek.

"Sweet dreams."

I shake my head, laughing to myself quietly. "We haven't even used the pillows yet."

I grab a pair of dark wash jeggings, a peasant top, and a taupe cardigan from the left side of the closet.

The right side is Taehyung's clothing, the left is mine.

I fling them onto the bed, and pull my t-shirt over my head in exchange for the peasant top. I slip into the jeggings that are just so comfortable. I shrug into my cardigan, and settle in the vanity chair. I stare at my bare face in the mirror.

"You're beautiful." I remember Taehyung saying everytime I applied my makeup.

I pull open one drawer, and take out my curling iron, and heat protectant. Spritzing my hair with the heat protectant, I curl my hair inwards, creating a touch of girliness.

I glance at the ditigial clock, and frown.

I'm running out of time, I think.

Due to the lack of time, I slapped on some BB cream that dried to powder, (A lifesaver, if you're a mommy), concealer to hide some redness and blemishes, brows, eyeliner, mascara and tinted lip balm.

Aside from my wedding ring, I wear no jewelery.

"Taekwon, honey." I call, as I step out of Taehyung and my bedroom. He perks up and runs towards me. My little man tackles my legs and hugs it tightly.

His eyes grow large.

"Wahhh! Mommy is so pretty! Oh! Are seeing daddy?"

I smile, and ruffle his hair. "I'm sorry, sweetheart, but daddy is busy, okay?"

Taekwon looks a bit crestfallen, and voices a reply anyway. "Okay.."

I shoulder into my crossbody purse and lead Taekwon to the door while shoving some cash, lip balm, cell phone for touchups in my purse. I pluck the set of keys off the rack and hand it to my little man. "Hold these for Mommy, okay?" I coo, and offer a smile.

He grabs the tag and swings it around as I slip into my toms.

Taekwon passes me back the keys, and I lock the door behind us.

He slips his hand into mine as we walk down the hall towards the elevator.

"Good Morning, Yura." Ahjumma Jookmi greets, her smile lines more prominent as ever. I always treated her like my grandmother, and she always treat me like her granddaughter although Taehyung said he didn't really like Jookmi ahjumma. "Good Morning, Jookmi Ahjumma." I say. Taekwon blinks and shyly waves.

"Where are you going so early in the morning?"She asks. "Oh," I say back, " I'm taking Taekwon to the park, then pabingsu afterwards."

"Oh!" Jookmi says, "Pabingsu? Lucky you Taekwon!"

I smile, and pat my child on the head, "Yes, Lucky him."

"Okay, you know what, it'll be my treat. I'll just give you the money and-" As Jookmi's hands reach towards her fanny pack to pull out some banknotes, I place my hand over her weathered one.

"No, just forget about it, you don't need to pay, Jookmi Ahjumma.." I decline, politely.  "Aish! You youngsters, and your selflessness, I say just take it!" She snaps, and presses the money into my hand.

I bite my lip and stare down at the bills. "Are you sure?"

She nods, "Yes, Yura-ah!"

"Thank you." I say, and I nugde Taekwon lightly. "Say thank you, Taekwon."

"Thank you." The son of Taehyung echoes. Ahjumma Jookmi smiles, and waves. "Bye, now! And be careful!"

I tuck the banknotes into a pocket of my purse and continue walking towards the elevator. "Pabingsu!~" Taekwon sings, and start swinging our hands.

After Taekwon adn I leave the building, we walk a few blocks to get to the pabingsu store.

"Appa!" Taewon shrieks when he walks into te parlour.

Huh?, I think.

"Taekwon, " I chide, and pat his head. "You don't scream or call people appa."

"Hey." A familar voice greets.

I look up, and it is indeed, Taehyung, Taekwon's appa.

I stare, blankly. "Which one do you want to order?" I say to Taekwon and nudge him subtly towards the display case. "Uhhhhh...." Taekwon goes, his finger tapping against his bottom lip.

I step away and angrily look Taehyung in the eyes. "Leaving in the middle of the night, huh? After calling someone? Who was  it that was so important and urgent that you didn't even write me a note?"

Taehyung sighs, "Look, Yura. Chill, 'kay? I had some work to do at the company."

"Sure." I say, narrowing my eyes. "I know you only work Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Not Saturdays."

"Wait," I snap, suddenly. My vision tunnels to a purplish mark near the base of his neck. I surge forward and tug on his shirt. "What the is this?" I seethe. He swats my hand away, "Nothing, okay? It's just I fell when practising a dance with Bangtan."

I bite my lip, and turn my palms up. I decide to take the passive road. "Fine. Whatever. We're gonna talk about this at home."

I spin my heels to go back to Taekwon until I hear the sound of heels clicking, and an obnoxious high pitched voice call, "Taehyunggie?~"

I glance back and I asborb the lady's outfit. A frilly lace blazer with pearlized buttons, a bib necklace made out of white-gold, and a bunch of precious stones, a slinky raven wrap dress with low 'v' cut that stooped so low I could see the peaks of her fire engine red bra, glossy red soled peeptoe heels, and to top it all off, ebony Chanel clutch.

She dresses in a mixture between, womanly, proffessional, and plain ty.

I guess I could say just made it above average in looks, but a feeling in my gut told that she was bad news.

I curl my fingers around hip, and quirk up a brow, like Answers, Taehyung. I want answers. NOW.

"J-Just a colleague." Taehyung stammers.

"Hallo." She smiles, and waves half-heartedly. "You're his sister, right?" She crinkles her powdery nose, "But you don't look really much alike."

"Taehyung." I say, sweetly. "You know, what? Let's not talk about this at home. Let's just not talk about it at all. You better book a hotel tonight, and make sure you have enough money to stay for a week or so."

I saunter away from the 304, and the man I couldn't believe I call 'my husband' at times. Indeed this was one of those times.

"Who was that?" Taekwon asks with a mouthful of strawberry pabingsu. "No one." I tell him, I feel bad for lying but he's still a child. "I don't like her." Taekwon states, "She ugly."

I chuckle, and ruffle his hair. "That's not nice."

"But it's true." He frowns, and stabs at his melting ice cream. "Her makeup can cause a sinkhole."

I grin.

Kim Taekwon.

The child of me, Park Yura and Kim Taehyung. Born on October 3rd at 11:06 AM. The light of my life.

Frankly, I wouldn't know what I would do without my little man.

Chapter 19: Man...the feels! I don't know what I would have done if my husband cheated on me...I'll probably break down. I would cry myself to sleep and not eat. That's what I'm afraid of...sometimes I think not being in a relationship is better. You won't get a big heartbreak. I have never been in a relationship, I want to but I'm scared that the bond will not be there anymore.
