Xuehua’s POV

“Xuehua!” Kris called, “Come here!”

I came closer to Kris and asked, “What is it?”

Kris picked up a blade

“Yah! Where did you get that?” I asked, surprised

“Shh,” Kris shook his head and wrote our names on a tree

I smiled and took the blade adding something

“Careful!” Kris warned

After I finished writing, I turned to Kris and smiled who was also smiling back at me

 “Promise?” I asked him

“Promise! We’ll alwa-“

“Xuehua! Yah! Wake up!” Who is it? I opened my eyes and looked at my friend, Pao, pointing something at my other side. I turned my head and saw my teacher standing beside me. Omo!

 “Trying to sleep in my class, eh?” The teacher asked and slammed the ruler on my table, “Detention after lunch!” 

I sighed and looked at Pao she shrugged in response

Riing Riing

“Don’t forget to do your assignment!” The teacher instructed and went out of the room

“Aigoo~ Xuehua,” Pao shook her head and pointed at the window. It’s Byun Baekhyun..

“Excuse me,” I replied and went out of the classroom to where Baekhyun was waiting

“Annyeong~” Baekhyun waved, smiling

I smiled back, “Annyeong, why are you here Baekhyun-ssi?”

“W-would you like to go out with me?” Baekhyun stammered, “M-more than friends..”

I smiled and shook my head apologetically, “I’m sorry, I can’t..”

Baekhyun smiled embarrassingly, “It’s okay.. I’m sorry..”

“Aniyo, it’s okay.. And I’m sorry too,” I bowed and walked back inside the classroom

Kris’ POV

What the.. That’s the fifth guy this week! I walked to the guy and glared at him and went to Xuehua’s classroom

“Xuehua!” I called smiling when I saw her

Xuehua looked surprised and a smile came out of her face and walked to me. How I miss her smile..

“Ne, oppa?” Xuehua asked, still smiling

“Are you busy? Let’s go eat lunch together,” I offered

“Really?” Xuehua asked, “Alright, I’ll go get my bag first!”

“Here,” I gave her one of my sandwiches

“Kamsahamnida, oppa,” Xuehua smiled, “Your omma makes the best sandwich!”

I smiled

Flashback

“Omma! Can you teach me how to make the sandwich Xuehua likes?” I pleaded with my hands together

“Aigoo~ alright,” mom smiled

After a few tries I finally got the hang of it

“Omma! Try this!” I gave her the sandwich I made

My mom took a bite and smiled, “Hmm.. This taste great!” And gave me a thumbs up

“Chincha?” I asked, smiling

“Of course!” Mom took another bite

Ever since that day I was the one who would make her sandwiches..

Flashback ends

“Oppa,” Xuehua called looking at the sandwich

“Hmm?” I asked and looked at her

“You’ve been busy.. Lately..”

“I’m sorry,” I said apologetically 

“It’s okay,” Xuehua smiled sadly, “I know oppa’s busy..”

I looked at her frowning, “By the way, I heard a lot of people are confessing to you,” I smiled, “So.. Did someone capture your heart?”

Xuehua frowned for a quick moment, but smiled instantly, “There is someone.. I’m still waiting for him..” She looked at me hopefully.

“Xuehua!” Someone called her from the back, I looked back and saw a guy with good-looking features. I looked at Xuehua and she was smiling and blushing at the same time. “There is someone.. I’m still waiting for him..”  Don’t tell me..

When the boy reached us, “Xuehua, I have to ask you something.”

“Ne, Kai-ssi?” Xuehua asked, still blushing. Kai? Isn’t he the basketball team leader?

“Do you want to go out with me?” Kai asked

Xuehua looked embarrassed and was about to answer the question, but I couldn’t bear to hear her answer so I walked out. So, I guess this is it.. I skipped the rest of the class that day and went home.

The next day

Xuehua’s POV

It’s Kris oppa!

“Opp-“ I was cut when Kai appeared in front of me

“Annyeong!” Kai smiled

“What is it, Kai-ssi?” I asked while he was talking I searched for Kris, but he was nowhere to be seen. Where is he?

"I’m sorry, I have to go," I said and walked out to search for Kris

“Pao unni!” I shouted and walked to her, “Have you seen Kris oppa?”

 “Nope, why?” Pao asked, “Did something happened?”

“I don’t know.. He left when he saw Kai confessed to me..”

Pao smiled, “Why don’t you confess to him?”

“H-how?” I asked, “I’m afraid of getting rejected..”

“Then.. Why don’t you write it in a letter?” Pao suggested

 I smiled, “Pao unni you’re really smart!” I hugged her, “Thank you.” Why didn’t I think of that?

When I got home that day I decided to write the letter. After hours of writing and re-writing, “Done!” I smiled and looked at the clock. Omo! It’s already 11PM! I still have class tomorrow!

“Pao unni!” I called, “I’ve finished the letter already!”

“How are you going to give it to him?” Pao asked

At the same time I saw Kris at the entrance of the school, I started panicking and shoot the letter in his locker.

“Come with me!” I dragged Pao and hid in the janitor’s closet that is close to the locker area.

“Yah! What are you doing?” Pao asked

I sneaked open the door a little bit to see how he would react, but instead of reading the letter he threw the letter in the nearby trash can.

“Xuehua..”

“Ani, it’s okay..” I smiled and a tear escaped my eye

I knew it.. He doesn’t like me..

So for these past few days I started to avoid him. Until..

"Xuehua!" Kris called, I pretended not to hear him

"Yah! What is up with you?" Kris scolded, “You’ve been avoiding me lately.”

"I'm fine.." I shrugged and continued walking

"Come with me!" Kris dragged me and went to the place where he carved our name

"Let go of me!" I shouted

"Do you remember the promise we made in this tree?" Kris asked

I looked at the tree, then nodded. Of course, I remember..

"Then.. W-why do you keep avoiding me?"

I cried, "Because you threw the letter!"

Surprised and confused Kris asked, "What letter?"

"The letter I made for you.. You threw it!"

"You mean.." Kris sighed and smiled

“Why are you smiling?” I asked furiously. Why is he even smiling?!

“You mean this letter?” Kris took out the letter I wrote from his pocket

"Huh?” How?

"I went back and searched for the letter.." Kris continued, "It didn't have any name to it, so I didn't assume that it came from you.."

I became speechless; Kris smiled and hugged me, “Did it come from you?”

I nodded

“I love you..” Kris smiled and hugged me tighter with his embrace

“Pabo!" I slapped his arms, "I’ve been waiting for you to say that!”

Kris smiled and cupped my face kissing me lightly

Flashback

“Xuehua!” Kris called, “Come here!”
