It was raining outside once Chanyeol stepped out of the building. He decided to get away from the agency for a quick breather but the weather did not seem to let him. Not bringing an umbrella just made the condition worse than planned. A sigh escaped from his lungs when a quick flashback of his friend being dragged by Soohyun’s men haunted him.

“I’m such an awful friend that I don’t even deserve to call as one. I should’ve rejected and just tell President Shin what actually happened.” ‘And let your family who had no idea what your job at risk?’ His consciousness voiced in his mind. He did not even care if the rain drenched his whole body. His mind was just too preoccupied with everything that happened.

Chanyeol had a conversation with the culprit before leaving the company’s building. Both of them were experiencing the same problem. Betraying their best friends was one of it.

“So did the plan go according to plan? I did well right?” A male around Chanyeol’s age asked him when seeing the tall man walked out of the elevator on the ground floor. He bobbed his head and was about to make his leave but the other pulled his hand to stop him.

“I was wondering though. My job was to impersonate as an agent. Who is this unlucky fellow that he wants to get rid off?”

“Why did you agree with this plan again?”

“He promised me that I could be in the IT section. It had always been a dream of mine to invent stuff but the Head Tech Specialists never gave me the approval I expected. They didn’t mock me or anything but I am sick of this. I know I could do more things besides repairing those agents’ gadgets.” The so-called culprit spoke his thought honestly.

“You only did this for the raise?” Chanyeol asked him with wide eyes. He was surprised by the fact the male in front of him did not get any threat but his background hit him hard. “I have no family. I only had a friend. I didn’t get to see him these days. I wish I could meet him soon and thanked him for dragging me here in the first place.”

“Who is this friend of yours? I’m curious.” Chanyeol asked more out of curiosity. Once the male told the name, he had no idea how to breathe properly. His mouth was gaped open in shock and it made the other grew worried. “What’s wrong? By any chance you know him? If yes please tell me!”
