Baekhyun glared at the clock on the wall with a passion. Time seemed to be creeping by slower than usual, but then it always did during math classes. He sighed loudly and glanced at Chanyeol, who was sitting directly next to him. The younger gave him a knowing look and rolled his eyes at the sister droning at the front of the class.   Forty more minutes to go.   Baekhyun slumped onto his table and rested his head upon his forearm, doodling flowers on his worksheet.   Stupid math.   Just as sister Kim was starting on how integration was technically the opposite of differentiation, a knock interrupted the lesson and everyone was suddenly perking up in attention.    Baekhyun watched as sister Kim moved to open the door, his head still resting atop his forearm. Sister Kim appeared to be thrilled about something the sister on the other side of the door was telling her, but Baekhyun honestly couldn't care less-- it was probably just another sports meet or some other boring event in the planning.   Baekhyun heard his teacher thanking  the other sister and then the door closed and the lesson was suddenly abandoned in favor of sister Kim's over excitement.   "Class... Cla- Pay attentio-- Kyuhyun sit dow-- Baekhyun! Sit up!--LISTEN TO ME!"   The class quietened down some, since sister Kim hardly raised her voice.    "There are guests here today" sister Kim stated far more cheerily than Baekhyun could understand why, so he elevated his head and asked    "So?"   Sister Kim turned to face him, grin still plastered to her face.    "They want to adopt one of our last years, so that means one of you," she paused to cast a sweeping gesture with her arm (which Baekhyun thought was just her being dramatic), "is going to be adopted!" A murmur passed through the class and everyone was suddenly abuzz.    Baekhyun's eyes widened slightly at the news as well. Hardly any of the guests chose to adopt last years. He looked over to Chanyeol, whose expression almost mirrored his own. Almost. Chanyeol seemed though he was fighting a grin or something. Baekhyun hoped it was that something.   Baekhyun didn't have time to ponder this as the class erupted in chatter, and the boy sitting behind him, Jongdae, tapped his shoulder insistently.    "Oh my god, Baek, we actually have a chance at this!" Jongdae said excitedly.   Baekhyun tore his eyes away from Chanyeol to look at Jongdae, who was almost vibrating with excitement. Not wanting to ruin the mood for his friend, he grinned and nodded.   "Yeah, it's been long since anyone wanted to adopt a last year"   "Was there even anyone in the history of this place who adopted a last year?"   "I don't know, but at least you know you have two less competitors on this one" Baekhyun gestured to himself and Chanyeol.    Jongdae looked almost conflicted. "Don't you think you guys want to give this a shot? It's probably l our last chance of ever getting parents at all"    Meanwhile, Sister Kim was still trying to take control of her class, but it obviously wasn't working.    "Nah, we have our parent-less future all planned out" Baekhyun said just as Chanyeol ended his own little conversation with another classmate.   "Whose parent-less future are we discussing here?" Chanyeol questioned, cutting off Jongdae's reply.   "The janitor's" he deadpanned.   "Yours, Captain Rhetorical" Jongdae chipped in.   "Betrayer" Chanyeol muttered, tossing a pen at Jongdae.     When sister Kim had finally managed to calm the class down, she produced a piece of paper Baekhyun realized she must have gotten from the sister at the door.
