His name is Shin Hyesung. That’s the name of Eric’s housekeeper/ helper. He is 21 years old and has just graduated from university. He is living with Eric, a CEO of a famous engineering company. He pays his rent in terms of being his housekeeper and helper. I’m sure that everyone thinks that working for Eric plus living with him must be the best thing in the world…

But Hyesung can assure you, it's not the best thing in the world. Hyesung knows that working means to be prepared for any ‘hardship’. But this is just too much. Why is this house in such a mess… Even though I’m the housekeeper, but shouldn’t he be more considerate? Bits and pieces of paper, dirty clothes and even important documents were laying on the floor. It's a miracle his company is still standing strong and has a strong footing in the stocks market.

Hyesung looks at the clock on the wall and swears to himself. 30 minutes from now, Eric has a meeting. An important one. Yet, that CEO is still sleeping. It’s not like the house is very near to the company. Hyesung shakes his head and reluctantly walks towards Eric’s room. Clutching the door knob tightly, his kuncles were turning white. And this is him supressing his anger so that he won't cause a murder case to happen in the room. He turns the door knob and enters. Eric’s room wasn’t exactly a very inviting place. His room is a mess. It has already been 1 week since Hyesung has stayed there and he still hasn’t cleared the mess.

By the way, Hyesung is a clean freak.

“Yah! Wake up you sleepy head!” Hyesung shouted at the top of his voice yet, Eric didn’t even stirred one bit. “I’m warning you. If you don’t wake up now, I am going to pull that warm and cozy blanket away from you!” Hyesung stifled a groan and walks towards the ‘unconscious’ Eric. Hyesung pants and moaned while trying to pull the blanket away from Eric. Yet it would not move. Eric was clutching on to the other end of the blanket even though he was asleep. “Unbelievable…” Hyesung muttered under his breath. Walking to the side of the bed, he decided to pull Eric out of the blanket. He tried with all his might but Eric would not budge. This is it! Hyesung gave his all and pull Eric when suddenly, Eric turned to his side, pulling Hyesung along with him.

And now, Hyesung was on top of Eric. He couldn’t move for Eric was holding on to him tightly. Hyesung struggled but to no avail. “Yah…..” Hyesung whined while struggling. “Let go of me you idiot!”

“Ha Eun…” Eric gently whispered. Hyesung stopped struggling and was now staring at Eric. That must be his deceased wife’s name. He looks so sad… Hyesung looks sorrowfully at the man and was shocked when he saw tears flowing down his cheeks. Instinctively, his hands reached up to his face to wipe away the tears. Hyesung sighs and was lost in his own thoughts when Eric groggily opens his eyes.

He stared at Hyesung who was blanking out before speaking in his unusually deep voice “Why are you on top of me?” Hyesung immediately snapped out of his thoughts and stuttered “Wha-what are yo-you talking abo-about? I was trying to wak-wake you up when you pu-pull me. And by the way, it’s 9:15. Your meeting starts at 9:30.” Hyesung slowly regains his composure. "Ahh.” Eric looks to the clock on his right “It’s okay. I’m the boss. Nobody can say a thing about me being late."

“What?” Hyesung barked. He really hates it when people in the higher ranks act like this. “You.Are.So.Not.Going.To.Be.Late.For.Your.Meeting.” Hyesung gritted his teeth. He then chased the sleepy Eric into the bathroom to wash himself up. In the meantime, he helped Eric picked out his outfit, prepared him breakfast and even sent him off to work. Why am I behaving so domesticated? Hyesung thought to himself while closing the door, part of him felt annoyed but it's not like he can do anything about it. 

“This is really unusual of you.” Minwoo, Eric’s best friend, who had just returned from a business trip said to him when the meeting ended. “You being only 20 minutes late when you are always an hour late and you are wearing nice clothes. Thank god for that. I can’t stand your fashion sense in the past. But now, I like it.” Minwoo grinned widely.

“Don’t tell me you’ve found someone special already?” Minwoo teased the quiet Eric who was still seated in his chair, sorting out his papers.

“I can’t believe you actually found out that I have a special someone already. I thought I have hidden it quite well.” Eric faking his suprised, looks up at Minwoo.

“Really? Who is she?” Minwoo’s eyes were wide open, eager for the latest news on Eric’s love life.

“HE is Shin Hyesung.” Eric answered rather matter-of-factly.

Minwoo went silent. “It’s okay. Liking people from the opposite is just too mainstream nowadays. Don’t worry.” Minwoo pats Eric’s shoulder “I won’t judge you. You are my best friend.” Eric stares back at Minwoo skeptically “He’s my housekeeper and helper. The younger brother of my secretary. I seriously think responsibility runs in their family.” Eric chuckled to himself. He really likes having Hyesung’s company. He doesn’t feel so lonely as compared to before and Hyesung takes good care of everything.

“You know,” Minwoo smirked “Housekeepers who are living with their boss usually end up together.”

“He’s a guy Minwoo.” Eric strained his voice.

“Nothing's impossible.” Minwoo shrugged his shoulders and smiled. 

“It won’t happen. I’m sure of it.” Eric retorted back. “I don’t think he really likes me.”

“Love can be unpredictable. He may like you as well. If you think deeply, why will he want to be your housekeeper in the first place?” Having said that, Minwoo walks away. He paused at the door, turned back to give Eric a thumbs up, leaving Eric to scoffed at that sight.

Will we eventually end up together? Eric thought to himself. Nah, I'm just over-thinking. 

"Where is he?” Hyesung said to himself worriedly. It was already half past 10 and Eric would usually be home by 9. Hyesung kept glancing at the wall clock, scaring himself with thoughts that Eric could have been kidnapped or even worse, murdered.

“Aishh…” Hyesung immediately grabbed his jacket and run out the door, trying to look for Eric. He looked frantically even though he has no idea where Eric is.

Wait! I can just call him. Hyesung rummaged through his pocket before he realized that he left it at home. I can always go home and called him. Oh . I left the keys at home. Arghhh and the door are auto shut. Why am I so worried about him in the first place?

At the corner of his eyes, he spots a back that was similar to Eric’s. He walks closer and realized that it was really Eric. He was beyond happy. Thank goodness he’s safe. Wait… what?

Eric was sitting on a bench at the empty park, staring mesmerizingly at the night sky. It was dark so he could see the stars shining brightly in the sky. “Eric-ssi?” A small voice interrupted his silence. Eric turned around and saw Hyesung standing just behind him. He pats the empty space beside him, acknowledging him to sit. While Hyesung was about to sit, he saw a picture of a woman on the bench. He was curious as to who it was and so he blurted

“Is this your deceased wife? She’s very pretty.” Hyesung gasped when he realized what he had just said.

Eric laughed and said “It’s okay. And yes. She is my deceased wife. I fell in love with her when I was still a student in high school. She was my neighbor back then. But then she moved away. I thought that I wouldn’t be able to see her again but then in university, we were in the same class.” Eric sighed. “We were a couple for quite a few years however, her parents wouldn’t accept me. They said that no one poorer than them can be their daughter’s boyfriend.

And so, I worked extremely hard and here I am, a CEO. The reason as to why am I seated here is because we used to go out at night, no matter how cold it is just to stare at the night sky. Be it if there is any stars or not. Ironically, she died when giving birth due to her weak heart when the sky was full of stars.” Eric paused to look at the photo and he pulls a lighter from his pocket.

“And I’ve made the decision to forget about her and start my life anew. I shouldn’t be moping around. I’m an adult. I should be able to handle grieve much maturely.” With that, he lit the photo and let it burn on the ground. When suddenly, he heard someone crying. He turned to his right and saw a crying Hyesung.

“Your love story with her is so beautiful. It’s such a pity she passed away. You could have a happy family.” Hyesung whimpered. “Why is life so cruel to you?” Hyesung rubbed his eyes forcibly to stop himself from crying.

Eric was surprised. He never met someone like Hyesung before. Not even Ha Eun was half of Hyesung. “Thank you Hyesung-ah. You are really kind.” Eric raised his hand to wipe away the tears before leaning in and kiss the sobbing Hyesung.

Hyesung immediately stopped crying and Eric rose up to his feet. “Thank you for helping me starts my life anew.” He walks away and stops when he is about a few feet away and turned back towards Hyesung with a confused look on his face “Aren’t you coming?”

Hyesung blankly stood up and followed Eric.

The touch of Eric’s soft lips still lingers on him, his hands reached to his lips and touched them.

A small smile formed on his face.
