“Ah, it’s getting late.” You exclaimed awkwardly, feeling uncomfortable with the tension suddenly building up. “I should head home.”

“Of course. Sorry to have kept you so long.” Jongdae stood up and you followed suit.

“No, no, sorry I kept you. You’re the one who was helping me after all.”

“My pleasure.” Jongdae smiled at you again. “We can keep going tomorrow if you feel up for it. Like I said, you’re already a lot better so with a few more study sessions I’m sure you’ll pass easily.”

“Thanks, I’ll see if I can manage to handle more after school tomorrow. See you in class?”

Jongdae nodded and you waved to him, feeling slightly awkward still, before running off to catch a bus home. Had you looked back you would have seen Jongdae staring longingly after you until you disappeared. But you didn’t.
