Without thinking too hard about it you leaned in, closing the gap between you. Your eyes slid shut as butterflies took off in your stomach and, to your great surprise and pleasure, Jongdae kissed you back.

His soft lips moved against your own, making you wish this moment would never end.

When you did pull apart Jongdae looked into your eyes and you had never seen such intensity before. He looked at you like he was appreciating a beautiful sunset, admiring a precious gemstone and glimpsing a rare songbird, all at the same time. His look made you feel special, made you feel loved. Not just appreciated or cared for but really, truly loved all the way down to the deepest part of your soul.

“I can’t believe you beat me to it.” He muttered softly.

“What?” You asked, your voice barely over a whisper, afraid to break the spell.

Jongdae your hair, his eyes never leaving yours. “I’ve wanted to kiss you for the longest time, _____.” You shivered as he said your name, for the first time hearing how wonderful it sounded on his lips. “I just never had the courage… and now you’ve beaten me to it.” He smiled and you felt your own mouth returning the gesture.

“Would you rather I had waited for you?” You asked, unable to stop the teasing tone. Jongdae laughed and shook his head.

“No. No, thank goodness you didn’t. Otherwise it could have taken me months to be able to do this.” He pulled you into another kiss, longer and deeper.

Who knew studying could bring you this much joy?
