"Time for the reports now. Hoya, report on the public please," Ji Soo asked

 

"Total number of reports from the public is nearly 3,000. Unfortunately, there were mostly prank calls. 3 people claimed that they might have known of seen Kira. But the information they gave us was on the news or the Internet. Nothing that was unknown to the public," Hoya reported. 

 

'The plan is working just perfectly, L.' thought Hoya.

 

"Sunggyu, report on the victims."

 

"We confirmed that all the victims, who died of heart attacks, had their information and picture publicly available in Seoul. We also investigated the times of death for the victims. We concluded that the killings happen from 4 pm to midnight on weekdays. On the weekends, from 11 am to midnight."

 

'You might be the second youngest, L. But you come up with the best ideas.' Sunggyu thought.

 

"That's interesting information. There's a chance that our culprit might be a student. And the evidence is that since Kira is targeting criminals, Kira is driven by a sense of justice. Of course, this is a mere statement. But, I suggest all of you remove any doubts that our culprit is a student. Considering any possibility seems to be the easiest way to catch Kira. Please continue." L said

 

"Any other reports?" Ji Soo asked. Nobody spoke. "That wraps everything up. You can go home now."

"How are you so confident about not getting caught?" Joon asked

The door opened. "Oh, hi appa." Kai waved

 

"How are your studies?" Ji Soo asked

 

"Good." Ji Soo nodded and closed the door.

 

"I see, your appa is a police officer." Joon said

 

"Yep. And I can easily hack into his computer without leaving a trace and keep track on the investigation." Kai opened up a file. "Looks like they're suspecting that Kira might be a student." Kai opened the book.

"Joon, if the cause of death is specified, then you get 10 minutes to write it?" 

"Yeah, so what?" Joon asked

 

"Looks like I might be able to bring more entertainment to you."

Two days later...

"What!? Another 23 victims died!? This is just like yesterday. 1 victim per hour." Ji Soo yelled 

 

"That's not it! Why did Kira kill them in 1 hour intervals? Kira is trying to tell us that he can control the time of death at will. But, don't you think that it's weird that 2 days after we suspect that he's a student? Kira probably knows how to get police information." L explained

 

"Dongwoo, please go on the phone and contact the FBI. Tell them to investigate everybody who has access to police information. I might be one of them, but might as well just investigate me just in case someone close to me has access to police information." Ji Soo ordered.

 

'Kira is smart. He actually did what I expected for him to do.' L thought

"L probably suspects by now that there is someone who's close to the police." Kai said

"But, doesn't that make it more riskier than them suspecting you're a student?"

 

"Think about it. Would you trust someone who you didn't know? The police and L will turn on each other. On the surface, they are working together. But in reality, they're against each other. I'm  using it so I can find L and destroy him. I don't have to find his real name. The police can do it for me."
