Coffee Shop

Risk and Retaliations
Aria absent mindedly traced her finger around the top of her coffee cup as Jay recounted her days endeavors, her lips curling up into a huge grin as she mentioned Kim gyosunim and her encounters with the lovely Mr. Daehyun whom she met in her dance class. It took all of Aria's will power not to start squealing, when she and Jay agreed to study abroad in Seoul, the last thing on their mind was the thought of meeting guys.

"What the heck Jay?! It's only your first day and you already have two guys drooling over you. And one of them is our professor." Aria whispered, leaning forward so only Jay could hear her.

"Shut up, Aria...and sit down you look crazy leaning on the table like that." Aria slid back down into her booth and giggled,

"Hmph. I still can't believe that you have two guys fawning over you, one of which is our professor!" Jay opened her eyes wide and smacked Aria on the arm,

"Stop saying that, someone may hear you." Jay hissed, looking at the people who were sitting several tables to their left.

"They can't hear us, Jay. Stop being so paranoid, besides, it not like they know who we are talking about." Jay shook her head and crossed her arms,

"But what if they do know who it is we are talking about? Hmmm?" Aria leaned back defiantly and sighed,

"Jay, seriously, come on, you know you can't tell me stuff like this and expect me to just be calm about it." Jay rolled her  and glared at her dongsaeng,

"You are making a big deal out of nothing, Aria. All he did was try to fix my hair, that's it. Nothing more. Now can we talk about something else, besides our Korean professor? Please?" Aria began to pout,

"Whatever, Jay. He tried to fix the hair of one of his students he barely knows. That has to mean something. If it were me he wouldn't try to fix my hair, he'd probably tell me, but he wouldn't walk over and attempt to touch my hair." Aria would have continued had it not been for the death glare Jay shot at her.

"Okay, you win. We won't talk about you and Kim gyosunim. But don't think I am going to forget about it either. Oh come on Jay, I know you like him.' Aria blurted out, taking a sip of her latte through the giggles that escaped . Aria watched as Jay's eyes wandered around the café as she searched for something to focus her attention on, as she searched for something to change the subject to.

"Jay, do. You. Like. Him?" Ari exclaimed slowly, drawing out each word. Jay looked up at Aria suddenly and grinned but only slightly,

"I don't know, Aria!...Maybe...I mean...he's so handsome...I just...I can't explain it..." Aria started to giggle rather uncontrollably as she watched her friend's eyes light up at the mention of possibly having feeling for their professor.

"Shut up! This isn't funny...it's dangerous...I can't like our professor Aria..." Aria was too busy giggling to hear Jay,

"I'm sorry Jay, you're just so cute." Jay growled lowly, looking away from Aria and out of the window for a brief second,

"What about you, Aria, how was your day today?" Aria looked up at jay, her body jumping as hiccup after hiccup surfaced in ,

"You know, that's what you get for laughing at me...and for prying." Jay said with a small smile on her lips.

"It was...totally...worth it" Aria stated between each hiccup. Jay shook her head and chuckled,

"Really Aria, how was your day?" Aria looked down at her latte, the smile on her face falling, the hiccups stll rising in .

"It was...okay..." Aria didn't bother to look at Jay, but Jay was looking at her, her eyes filled with concern,

"Aria, is everything okay?" Aria nodded her head, still avoiding eye contact with Jay.

"Aria, no it isn't, I know you...tell me what happened." Aria glanced up at Jay, a small and insincere smile spreading across her lips.

"It's nothing Jay. Really." Jay glanced out of the window before settling her eyes on Aria again,

"Aria, what happened?!" Aria sighed  heavily and averted her eyes trained on nothing in particular. Aria didn't want to tell Jay about Taeil because she knew the moment she did, Jay would be ready to go and confront him, which is something Aria was not ready to do.

"I just ummm...I got lost earlier and I'm still little pissed that I have to sit all the way in the back of im gyosunim's class." A random sound of annoyance fell from he lips as she regarded Aria with wide eyes,

"Really Aria? Is that all?! You had me thinking that someone hurt you or something...I was getting ready to kick some . " Aria flashed Jay a false smile, and giggle lightly before she peered out of the window, her eyes falling upon a very disturbing sight. Aria watched as Taeil walked down the side walk and toward the café entrance, her heart hammering hard against her ribs. Aria didn't know why the sight of Taeil was so unnerving, all she knew was that, at the moment, she did not want to be near him. Aria glanced at Jay and smiled, her leg shaking underneath the table as she contemplated what to do next. Aria glanced down at her latte and took a sip of the now cold beverage,

"Aria are you alright? You look like you just seen a ghost or something." Aria glanced up at Jay, her lips slipping up into a rather small and emotionless smile.

"It's just really really cold is all...and my latte is cold too, so it's not helping." Jay flashed Aria toothy grin,

"Is that all? Goodness you get cold really quick, you are so frail." Jay joked as she slid out of the booth,

"Look whose talking. Where are you going?" Aria asked, the tone of her voice a few octaves higher than normal as the thought of being left alone settled upon her mind.

"I'm going to get you another latte you derp, I'll be right back." Aria smiled at her friend and nodded her head before looking around to see if Taeil was anywhere in sight.

"Thank you eonnie." Aria chirped, peering up at her friend and flashing her a small but sincere small before wrapping her arms around herself.

"Whatever kid, you better be lucky you're my best friend...or else you'd be hopping your little frozen tail up and getting it yourself." Aria flashed Jay a genuine toothy grin before her friend walked away, turning the corner to the front counter.

"Okay, Ary, don't worry...maybe he left..." Aria muttered to herself as she looked out the window to see if Taeil had left the café.

"Maybe who left?" A smug voice sounded behind Aria making her jump in her skin, a small squeak escaping her lips. Aria squeezed her eyes shut and swore before turning around to face the owner of the voice. Aria looked up and into the face of Taeil, and she couldn't help but to gaze into his eyes, his oh so dangerous eyes. Despite the fact she was sure she did not like this young man, she was sure of one thing, that she was inexplicably drawn to him, and his enticing eyes were not at all helping the situation. Aria parted her full lips to speak but all that came out was a wisp of air. Taeil tore his gaze from Aria's and looked down at her lips, her gorgeous, full lips, one of which she now nibbled as she racked her mind for an answer to his question. Taeil  in a deep breath and, though the task difficult, tore his eyes away from Aria's lips, exhaling heavily through his mouth,

"Umm, no one... you should be concerned about." Aria chirped finally, flashing Taeil a mockingly bright smile.

"Aww, for a second I thought you were talking about me." Taeil said, his voice thick with sarcasm. Aria rolled her eyes and twirled a curl on her finger before moving her hand over to her ear and fiddling with her earring and earlobe, hiccup after hiccup rising in . Taeil watched as Aria tugged at her earlobe and chuckled,

" What are doing? Are you nervous or something? Do I...intimidate you?" Taeil murmured, leaning forward so that he was hovering in front of Aria's face. Aria and Taeil's eyes locked,

"Bite...me." Aria hiccuped, a cute grin gracing her lips, her long eyelashes sweeping the air as she batted them. Taeil looked from Aria's eyes to her lips and back again,

"Maybe I will." Taeil whispered, earning from Aria a groan of disgust. Taeil chuckled quietly as he watched Aria look away from him, rolling her eyes in the process, her body slightly bouncing as each hiccup shook her. Taeil didn't know what it was but Aria made him feel strange, like one moment he knew exactly what to do, exactly how he felt, but then when he was near Aria, he got confused and a little flustered. Taeil smirked as he watched Aria, who was still looking away playing with her hair,

"Oh and baby girl... you are in my seat."  Taeil said, leaning even closer to Aria's face, his lips mere inches from hers. Taeil's voice was as quiet as a whisper, and as low as a murmur, causing Aria to practically melt. Aria scoffed, the heat rushing to her face as she dwelled on just how y Taeil's voice sounded at that moment.

"B-baby girl?! You're..seat? You're too funny." Aria laughed awkwardly, glancing up at Taeil hesitantly, her breath catching in as she realized just how close Taeil was to her. Suddenly those hiccups that she was cursed with dissappeared.

"Excuse me, can you...um...you know, b-back up a bit..." A smirk played on Taeil's lips as he peered down at Aria,

"I don't know...can you get out of my seat?" Taeil rebutted, flashing Aria one of his most dazzling smiles. The butterflies in Aria's stomach fluttered uncontrollably and for a second it was hard for her to breathe. Aria was breathless and flustered, and the longer she held Taeil's gaze, the harder it was for her to think straight. Aria shook her head and shut her eyes,

"You're full it, do you know that?!" Taeil snickered, taking a sip from his coffee cup, briefly glancing out of the window.

"...and you are annoying." Taeil said coolly, his eyes falling upon Aria, capturing her once again. Aria could feel her blood begin to heat up, and she had no idea whether it was because of Taeil's presence, the way he was looking at her, or if it was because all of the jumbled up emotions that flutter around inside of her. Taeil and Aria said nothing for a while, the tension in the air so thick that it could be cut through with a knife, there was no denying that these two did not like each other. Aria and Taeil just stood glaring at each other,

"Um, Aria? Here's your latte..." Aria blinked a couple of times, her eyes still focused on Taeil's eyes,

"Oh, hey, Jay..." Aria chirped, finally breaking eye contact with Taeil and looking up at her friend with bright eyes. Aria watched as Jay looked between her and Taeil, her eyes widening ever so slight, along with the grin that was gradually growing on her lips. Aria frowned and shook her head, but Jay didn't take the hint,

"Um...Aria? Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend here?" Jay said, a small grin on her lips,

"No." Aria mouthed, shaking her head slightly.

"Yeah, Aria, how rude of you not to introduce me to your friend." Aria snapped her eyes on Taeil her lips parting as if she were going to say something back but instead of speaking, Aria just chewed her bottom lip and held her tongue.

"Oh yeah...um...this is Taeil..." Aria's voice was void of any enthusiasm, her face free of any expression,

"And this is my best friend Jay. Well then now that we have that out of the way, me and Jay have to go. Come on Jay" Aria said, avoiding all eye contact with Taeil as she slid out of the booth,

"Aria, what are talking abou-" One desperate and rather pleading look from Aria is all it took for Jay to stop talking,

"Right, we need to get you back up to the campus to study... Um, bye Taeil." Jay mumbled as Jay watched Aria hurry for the exit. Taeil smiled pleasantly at Jay, waving at her before she disappeared out of the exit after Aria . Taeil watched out the window, his eyes following Aria as she walked pasted him on the sidewalk. Taeil waved at Aria as she glimpsed at him, earning from the small girl yet another look of disgust. Taeil chuckled to himself as she continued to watch her disappear.

Aria continued walking down the crowded side walk, not even bothering to wait for Jay,

"Aria! Aria! I know you hear me! Slow down! Aria!" Aria couldn't hear Jay over the obnoxious buzzing sound in her head. Her encounter with Taeil was most peculiar,

"Aria!" A firm grasp on Aria's arm jerked her back and turned her around,

"Aria what the hell was that back there?!' Aria sighed heavily and crossed her arms over her chest, her eyes following the many cars that zoomed by.

"...nothing... can we just get back to the campus before it gets too late? I do have to study you know, Korean history is nothing to mess around with." Jay looked into Aria's face, her lips set into a line, her eyes narrow. Aria knew that until she told Jay what was going on with her, that they would not be going anywhere.

"Aria, come on, I know something is bothering you. Is it that Taeil guy? He's really cute." Jay commented, her voice dancing with enthusiasm. Aria scoffed,

"Whatever! Taeil cute?! Give me a break. He's a jerk...he pisses me off so bad...just his very presence makes me want to puke." Jay crossed her arms across her chest,

"I knew something was bothering you, I didn't buy that 'I'm still a little upset for having to sit in the back of the class' story for one second. What did he do to you to make you so pissed at him anyway?" Jay asked pulling Aria by the arm until they were out of the way of the bustling people. Aria looked out into the distance,

"He's rude and I don't like him...simple as that." Jay rolled her eyes,

"It's not like you to just dislike someone  for no reason, Aria. What really happened?" Aria exhaled heavily and looked up at Jay, who stood there waiting for Aria to admit what it was bothering so much about this Taeil guy.

"Well, we sit next to each other in Korean. I introduced myself and he just...can we just not talk about him, Jay...please...I kind of just want to forget about him right now." Jay looked down at her dongsaeng and smiled,

"Sure Ary, besides, we need to hurry up and get to our dorm...I want to show you the dance I learned today." Aria looked up at Jay and smiled, Aria was glad to have a best friend like Jay because there was no need to explain things, she just knew. One of the greatest decisions Aria could have ever made was coming to Seoul with her best friend, and the more she thought about it, the more she realized just how lost she would have been had they never been able to come to Seoul together.

"Alright, lets go...I think its about to rain anyway." Aria and Jay walked down the bustling sidewalks of Seoul, singing random songs and giggling about nothing in particular. It took the girls about fifteen minutes to get from the coffee shop to the campus grounds, and then it took them ten minutes to get to their dorm building. The dorm building was teeming with life, every corner Jay and Aria turned something different was happening and it seemed almost impossible for the two to find a quiet and calm place to themselves. It wasn't like there was a party happening or anything like that, there were just small groups of people scattered about the lounge area and chatter filled the air.

"Umm, well...first lets put our things in our room and then we'll figure out a place where I can show you the dance...you know a place where there is not an audience." Aria and Jay headed to their shared dorm and within fifteen minutes changed out of their clothes and slipped into something a little bit more comfortable since they did not have any more classes until the next day. It took Jay and Aria a total of seven minutes to find a nice, quiet, and rather secluded place to themselves. Aria walked over to one the windows looking over the campus. The rain drops had just began to fall, the small drops of water rolling down the glass. Aria looked out at the campus grounds, watching as all of the students scattered around in search of a dry place to shield themselves from the rain. Aria wrapped her arms around her self a sudden shiver running down her spine, making her shiver. Her eyes, following the many bodies fell upon one body in particular. Suddenly that shiver that ran down Aria's spine, coursed through out her entire body, she was looking at Taeil.

Why do I keep seeing him?! Aria asked herself, her eyes following after him as he calmly walked through the rain toward the fine arts building. She had no idea why Taeil made her feel so strange, so out of place, so lost.

'Oh and baby girl...you are in my seat...' Aria could practically hear Taeil's oh so y voice echoing in her mind, the very thought of Taeil having been so close to her made Aria shiver. She couldn't quite pinpoint the exact emotions it was Taeil was making her feel, all she knew was that Taeil made her weak and in every way possible. If he wasn't making her feel physically weak, may it be because of his enticing gaze or his wonderfully mesmerizing voice,  he made Aria feel mentally and emotionally weak. She didn't know what to think, or how to feel when Taeil was around, and it pissed Aria off knowing that she'd forever be confused when he was around.

"Aria?! Did you hear me?!" Aria jumped at the sound of Jay's voice,

No I didn't hear you, I heard Taeil. Aria thought as she turned away from the window.

"Huh?! What?! I'm sorry, Jay...what were you saying?" Aria asked, moving her hands up to mess with the curls that hung over her brow, peeking up at Jay, a small and nervous smile spreading on her lips. Jay rolled her eyes and sighed heavily,

"I said I am about to start dancing." Aria walked away from the window a little flustered from having seen Taeil for the third time today.

"Okay, I'm all eyes." Aria chirped, walking over to a chair and taking a seat, pulling her feet underneath her.

"Sure, whatever you say Ary." Jay took a couple of steps back until she was sure she was not going to hit anything,

"Alright here I go..." Aria watched Jay intently as she twisted and turned her body, each transition into a new move as fluid as water. There was no way Aria could ever move as gracefully as Jay did, so there was no point of her even trying to attempt the dance Jay was showing her. A wide grin spread over Aria's face as Jay neared the end of her dance, there was no way Aria's best friend had that much talent and was not famous yet.

Woohyun sat at the end of the hallway, the faint sound of hushed voices traveling through the air tickling his ears. He thought he was all alone and that no one was in these parts of the dorms, but he was wrong. Woohyun, fed up with the sound of high pitched squeals and giggles, stood up, his feet carrying him toward the sound of the females' voices.

"Oh my god Jay, you were amazing! How heck are you not famous already?!" One of the girls exclaimed, her voice as sweet as honey,

"Shut up Aria, it wasn't even that good." The other girl's voice sounded, Woohyun exhaled through his nose and stepped around the corner to see two dark skinned girls standing in the middle of a vacant lounging area. Woohyun couldn't see their faces, but by outlines of their bodies he could tell that these two females were probably gorgeous, especially the little short one, whose big curly hair hung a little past her shoulders. Woohyun stood completely still as he watched the taller girl, step by step, show the shorter girl how to do this y little body roll move. Woohyun's eyes stayed focused on the shorter girl as she took a step forward, threw her arm in front of her, and rolled her body. It took all of Woohyun not to burst out laughing as he watched the shorter girl fail her first attempt, but then when the girl attempted it a second time, the temperature in the room rose and his pants grew just a tad bit tighter. Just the way the shorter girls curvy body moved fluidly, the way her chest popped and her hips had Woohyun speechless, and the look she had on her face deinantly did not help either. Just watching as the girl bit her lips, her eye brows furrowed, all of it just made the move all the more y.

"Whoa~" The sound fell from Woohyun's lips before he could stop it. Aria and Jay abruptly stopped their dancing and turned around, only see Woohyun peeking from behind a wall.

"Annyeonghaseyo?" Aria asked, taking a couple of steps toward the wall, only to jump back when Woohyun stepped out of his hiding place. Woohyun scratched at the back of his head, his face coloring with embarrassment for having got caught by the very girls he was watching. Woohyun looked down at his feet and then back up at Aria, a boyish smirk on his face,

"ummm...that was pretty neat...that dance you both were doing. Sorry for intruding, I just...well that move looked really cool...and it looked even better with two girls as pretty as yourselves doing it." Jay looked over at the boy who they had found spying on them, a low inaudible growl surfacing from . Just the way this guy spoke oozed class A creeper, the guy just seemed a little off to Jay, and his stupid little boy like grin was not helping one bit.

"Thank you...the amazing one is actually my friend. She's the dancer, not me..." Aria looked away from the handsome young man, biting her bottom lip hard as she turned and motioned for Jay to join her.

"Oh my gosh." Aria mouthed as Jay walked over to where she stood in front of Woohyun. Jay just shook her head and smirked as she took her stance next to Aria.

"Ah Annyeonghaseyo, jeoneun Jay yeyo. Ireumi mwoyeyo?" Woohyun's eyes grew wide as he realized he had yet to introduce himself to the two girls.

"Ohh, mianhaeyo...jeoneun Woohyun-iyeyo." Aria looked up at Jay and then over at Woohyun, who both just stood there staring each other down. Aria could tell something was wrong, but what it was wrong, she did not know. All Aria knew was that this Woohyun guy was smoking hot, and he looked really sweet.

"Jeoneun Aria-yeyo, nice to meet you." Woohyun looked away from Jay and down at Aria, his eyes glowing as he looked into Aria's curl framed face. She looked like a little milk chocolate doll to Woohyun,

"You know, for someone who says they are not a dancer, you sure know how to move your body. I would have never been able to tell that Jay-ssi was the only dancer here." Aria couldn't help but grin at Woohyun, he was just so charming, and Aria was sure, that if he kept it up, he'd have her smitten. Aria stayed silent, not knowing how to exactly respond to Woohyun's comment,

"Um, thank you Woohyun. It was really nice meeting you." Woohyun smiled, his face lighting up even more, making Aria's very heart lurch.

"Ah, the pleasure was mine. Maybe we can get together some time...you can teach me that dance..." Woohyun said this with the intention that just he and Aria get together, but he looked at both girls. Jay shook her head,

"Sorry, I would but I am way too busy...I barely made time to show Aria that what I just showed her." Jay lied, the truth was she just did not like this guy and the last thing she wanted to do was teach him dance moves. Jay looked down at her dongsaeng, hoping to catch her attention, she didn't like the guy and she was hoping, praying that Aria made the right decision and turned him down. Jay did not know what it was about Woohyun that had her on the edge, maybe it was the fact that his attempts to swoon Aria were effortless and seemed insincere,  or maybe it was because he was trying his hardest to make an impression on Aria. Or maybe it was becauae there was a terribly good looking guy flirting with her dongsaeng right in her face. Jay exhaled calmly as she watched the smooth talking Woohyun continue to flirt with Aria,

"Um, well, if you really want to learn it I can teach you. Just tell me when and where and I will be there." Aria flashed Woohyun a grin that showed off her pearly whites and her gloriously big smile. Woohyun flashed Aria a devilishly handsome smile of his own, practically causing Aria's heart to stop beating.

"How does tomorrow at...hmm...six o'clock sound?  We can meet here, and maybe afterward get a bite to eat?" Aria began to fiddle with her ear at the sound of Woohyun suggesting that they go out after the little dance lesson.

"Sure." Was all Aria could say as she looked at the incredibly handsome young man standing before her. Jay, who now relocated to a chair some ways away from Aria and Woohyun watched the couple as they planned their date. Jay just couldn't shake the feeling that this Woohyun character should be watched. Looked at her phone to see that it was a little past eight,

"Whoa, Ary, we need to get going! We have to study for Korean." Aria looked down at her phone and frowned, Jay was right,  they really did have to leave.

"Um, yeah, sorry Woohyun but i have to go. Maybe we can-" Aria was cut off by Woohyun,

.
"Exchange numbers?" Woohyun smirked before taking Aria's phone out of her hand ajd swiftly typing hia name into her contacts.  Woohyun slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out his phone,  handing it over to Aria. Jay walked over and linked her arm through Aria's yanking her away from Woohyun,

"Come on Aria, we have to leave now." Aria could hear the urge in Jay's voice.

"I'll just text you then?" Aria asked innocently as Jay yanked her toward their dorm.

"I'll be waiting for a text from Aria, so don't forget. See you tomorrow, and bye Jay." Jay waved her hand above her head, not even bothering to turn around to face Woohyun.  Jay said nothing to Aria until the two were back at the dorms, on their way to their dorms.

"Goodnight eonnie..." Aria exclaimed as she passed Jay who was siting on the sofa.

"Goodnight Aria." Was all Jay said to Aria before they each went off to their own rooms. Aria was a little confused as to why Jay was acting so strange, she had did nothing wrong. Aria slid under her covers and pulled out her phone,

Good night Woohyun-ssi. Aria typed on her phone before turning it off and setting it on her night stand to charge. Aria tunred off her lamp and shut her eyes, a grin playing on her lips.

Maybe this wasn't such a terrible day after all
