❝ Chapter 11: A Month Later... New Struggles

Just after a month of P!NK FR!DAY’s debut, they were known as the renowned sister group of SNSD, for their colorful talent and strong, breath-taking vocals. Their reputation continued to grow within South Korea, gaining much popularity in the public and even gathering the attention from worldwide viewers. Their debut was considered a true success, despite the fact that Red Velvet that been released right after them and hadn’t actually gotten a boy. Well, for some of them at least.

Despite a few comparisons of being the counterpart of EXO, they represent the new SNSD, bringing a storm to international fans and netizens alike. Managing to win one week on Inkigayo and Music Bank they ended their successful debut with a boom on the music market. But in comparison, Red Velvet had also presented a colorful concept, but instead of singing a love song, they brought a wave of happiness ringing throughout the kpop world.

The nine lovelies had finished their promotions a week earlier, rewarded with a week free from practice, given the week to use as vacation or to visit their family. To take advantage of their short break, the nine separated in their own ways, finally gaining back some much needed sleep and rest. Since this was their first time leaving each other’s presences from their trainee days, some travel overseas to visit family (Diamond, Emily) or go back to their hometowns to pay a visit to their beloved family. Upon returning back to the studio, refreshed and renewed, they began stretching while going through their old routines of their trainee days; they have a reality check in how far they’ve come.

“Oh wow. I haven’t done this since… “ Jihye pauses in mid-sentence, flustered with her own words.

“Forever.” Lily finishes of her, an astonished expression etched over her facials as well.

“I don’t even remember it.” Soojung admits softly from the side, still struggling to remember the moves for the particular jazz routine. Eunmi nods silently, leaning her head against the other’s shoulder, “Wow… it’s like… time just… flew.”

“Time boils rain.” Emily mumbles from the side, still focused on her own reflection in the mirro as she flows through the moves of the dance with ease. Eventually everyone turned to stare at their leader, making the other change the topic immediately. “Anyways. Where’s Diamond?”

“I was going to ask the same thing.” Qui perks up from the ground, still in midst of stretching her legs, “Only, I was concerned about Haneul.” She receives the leader’s blank glance by sticking of her tongue playfully.

“Where is everyone anyway?” Mihyun speaks up, keeping her gaze glued to her phone.

“Princess,” Lily starts off, plopping on the couch beside the other in a not-so-subtle attempt to steal a peek from the younger’s phone. “Everyone is here.”

“No-” Mihyun finally tears her gaze away from her device, “-Well, just two are missing, but still.”

Lily sighs, failing to see what was on the other’s phone, Jihye joining the duo on the couch as she pulls out her own phone. “So how was your week vacation guys? Did you get to visit family?”

“Yup!” Qui jumps up from her place on the ground, “My parents are just getting older. That’s bout it! I dunno why, but they just make me feel old.” Emily, Lily, and Eunmi chuckle lightly, “Darling, if you’re old. Then we’re ancient!”

Qui shakes her head cutely, “Nope! Just you~” she points at their leader, stopping once the other raised her brow, sending a piercing glare at the younger. Before the two could break out of the icy stares, Haneul bursts into the room, saving Qui from the trouble and sending the maknaes into a frenzied attack of hugs.

“So… I WENT TO THE BEACH!” Haneul spins in a circle, throwing her arms to the ceiling with an exaggerated model pose that was worthy for hysterical laughter. “BETCHA YOU GUYS DIDN’T DO ANYTHING AS AWESOME AS THAT!”

“Hey! I went to the beach too!” Emily, Lilly, and Jihye spoke up at the same time. Their unison response ending with a series of laughter and fit of giggles.

At the moment, Diamond opened the door to the studio, her arms overflowed with bags that covered even her own face. “Erms… a little help here?” she mumbles through the toppling bags, finally the other eight girls running to help her. “WHOA. WHAT IS THIS.” Eunmi holds up the miniature snowglobe, the box already opened and unwrapped as it displayed the Golden Gate Bridge within. Diamond grinned widely, gesturing for the girls to gather around, “I bought souvenirs for everyone!” She digs through the bags to find the labeled items, handing different sized boxes to each members, their name printed in her loopy cursive.

After handing out the gifts to each individual member, she was attacked with multiple hugs of each side, the members chatting animately as they attempted to identity what they had gotten. “Thanks SJ!” Lilly hugs the other for the
