❝ Chapter 10: Debut Anticipation

The nine lovelies of P!NK FR!DAY stood around in a circle, their hands extended into the center as their leader, Emily, spoke to them in a hushed tone. With only ten minutes left until the live airing of their cover of SNSD's Dancing Queen, they felt a mixture of nervousness, anxiety and excitement.

"Okay girls," Emily continues, earning shy smiles from her members, "This is own big moment. Let's do our SNSD sunbaes justice." she extended her hand into the middle, eight other hands piling on top as they cheer "PINK FRIDAY!" with a loud shout.

Haneul goes around, whispering "HWAITING!" lifting a hand in a gesture of encouragement. The group exchange hugs with their friends, readjusting their mics with buliding anticipation. Soojung and Eunmi, the main vocalist duo, were given hand mics instead, their fingers gripping their microphone that was now clammy with sweat. Jihye nuds Lily playfully, getting a small smile in return. 

Emily scans over her members again, as Diamond goes around to check on each girls costume and make-up, fussing over each girl as a way to forget about her nervousness. Mihyun joins Eunmi and Soojung for a vocal warm-up, getting their voices prepared as the maknae group goes to take a peek into the waiting audience, getting Emily to go over a scold them lightly.

The members were dressed in varied patterned shirts, all tied up to reveal their bare stomachs. Although they each felt a bit revealing, it was a concept for their debut that they had to dwell with. Matching their 80's outfit, colored skinny jeans and heels finished off their costume. "5 more minutes!" the stage director called out, making the leader gather the scattered girls again. 

"We got this!" Lily added from the side, making smiles curl up on everyone's face. Then they lined up, preparing to head out on the stage. But just as Diamond stood in her place, Emily takes her firmly by the wrist leading her to the side, out of hearing range of the others, "SJ, are you sure you can dance in those heels?" she asked at a whisper, her eyes flicking nervously at the 4-inch heels, "What if you end up twisting it again out there?" Diamond only sighed, patting the leader on the shoulders, "I'll be fine! Don't worry, in fact, to make you content, I'll be wearing the safer hip-hop shoes for IGAB instead of the sneaker heels, okay? Happy now?" Emily let out a relieved sigh, fiddling with belt of her jeans, "Alright, but promise me that you and Lily are going to rest right when we get back." 

Diamond merely answered with the slight roll of her eyes, "Yes ma'am —oh wait, I can't make any promises." 

"Shuijing! Emily!" Qui whispers loudly, earning hushes from Haneul and Eunmi, she turns to swat at Haneul, only to make her turn back around to face the stage. Eunmi gestures with the point of her hand, Only a minute left. The leader nods, exchanging a silent look with her co-leader before the two return to their rightful places in line, Let's bring it on.
