Before we start, I’d like to thank SarahLilacs2 for recommending this story in her thread (you guys should check her recommendation thread, really, she provides amazing stories that you might like to read!). If it weren’t for her I would less-likely encounter Tributaries which is, like, one of the most amazing stories ever written here in AFF.
Talk about realism; we have Tributaries. Not only did it convey a short, tragic love story, the oneshot that Scheherazade wrote for Sky is the Limit Writing Contest also portrayed the life of an idol which, unfortunately, is not as glamorous and blissful as it may seem on TV. Reading this again after the Kris issue was revealed, I couldn’t help but to feel a slight pain on my chest. I don’t know with you guys, but I am (will always be) standing up for Kris.
(+): Despite the story being so compactly written, the characters’ individualities and backgrounds were perfectly delivered. You will also encounter more than one life moral hidden between the lines. The idea of plot development is completely genius. Flawless grammatical and metaphorical skills. I guarantee you won’t regret reading Tributaries.
(-): Scheherazade is one, amazing writer. It took me only one piece to admit her talent. That piece happens to be Tributaries, which is pretty much flawless in my personal opinion. Give it a try :)
