Prologue:

                "Mama, why do you look so sad?" the young boy stares curiously at his mother and her grip around him tightens as she pulls him closer and she closes their front door.

"Because baba is worried and that makes me sad" she coos quietly into her five year old sons head and she lifts him higher in her arms as she walks further into the house.  

"Where is baba?" the small boy's eyes search throughout the room they are in looking for the familiar figure of his father, but he pouts when he is unable to find him.

"Luhan, you know baba loves you right?" Luhan's mother looks into his eyes, she smiles at the bright smile that breaks across her sons face and Luhan nods, answering her question. "Good, baba won't be able to come home for awhile, but he loves you and wants you to remember that, okay?" she recognizes the sadness in her sons eyes but he still gives her a large smile and a happy "Okay".

"Baby, you need to know that one day there will be good and bad people that will come for you, they will make you choose a side and it will be up to you to decide what's right" she talks to him softly, making sure he understands her and she puts him down, helping him take off his outside wear.

"Why? Will they want to hurt me?" Luhan's mothers' eyes snapped up to his worried face at his question, she knelt down in front of him and pulled him into a comforting hug. Her hand went up to his head, caressing the crown softly in a calming manner.

"Oh baby, no, no they won't want to hurt you, they'll want you to help them and they will fight each other for you help, baby some will want to do really bad things and when they come your life will be thrown upside down" Luhan clutched closer to his mother, he was scared of his future and these people that will come to find him.

"Mama, why do they want to me to join them?" Luhan pulled away from his mother enough to be able to look at her face and he wasn't surprised to see that she was still sad.

"Mama and baba weren't suppose to fall in love but we did and we even had our precious baby, so let's say it's our relatives and distant relatives that are mad at mama and baba, so they will come to get you because you are a mix of mama and baba" she tries to explain in small terms hoping not to scare her son but at the same time hoping he will understand.

"Why? If mama and baba love each other than let them" Luhan protested cutely a look of determination sticking on his face and he leaves a sloppy kiss on his mothers face, giggling as he pulls away.

"You're right baby, but when you're older everything will make more sense, buuut, it is bed time for a certain Luhan" she smiles as she tosses her son into the air and carries him to the bathroom; she finds him a change of clothes as Luhan brushes his teeth.

"Good night baby, sweet dreams" she whispers to her son and leaves a soft kiss on his forehead before she turns the light off and wanders out of the room. Unknown to five year old Luhan but that would be the last time he saw his mother and father.
