Hyosung covered her face as the smile on her face wouldn’t go away.

“Oh my god” she whispered to herself.

She could feel her eyes burning with tears and she knew that her hormones were going into overdrive but she couldn’t help but be so happy at what had finally happened. She bit her lower lip as she lowered her hands from her face. She slowly brought her hands down her body, hesitating slightly as she came to her s. She looked at the mirror and finally rested her hands on her stomach. As she felt the bump, she laughed. It finally happened….her baby was growing and it was finally showing.

She turned sideways, her eyes never leaving her reflection.

There it was. It was small but very noticeable.

She hadn’t realized it until this morning when she tried to put on a pair of jeans but they wouldn’t close. It had taken her by surprise. It was a bump; very small and very cute.

She dropped her hands from her stomach and stared at the shirt she wore. It was no wonder that she hadn’t noticed until then. She had developed a habit of wearing Kikwang’s shirts…even when she went to work.

The bathroom door opened and Kikwang shuffled in as he rubbed his eyes. He saw her and smiled.

“You’re up earlier than usual” he voiced.

“I had to use the toilet” she said with a sigh.

It was only six in the morning.

He reached her and planted a sweet kiss on her forehead. He often felt bad because she always had her sleep interrupted nowadays.

The only reason he was awake was because her sudden movements in bed had woken him up and he worried that something had happened.

As he moved away from her personal space, Hyosung grabbed his hand.

“Wait” she said, the smile on her face widening.

He raised an eyebrow.

“What?” he asked as he tried to open his eyes wider.

“There is something that happened” she said.

Kikwang stared at her, waiting.

She laughed a bit and then suddenly brought his hand towards her.

She gave him one more glance before she placed his hand on her stomach. As soon as he felt it, he pulled his hand away.

“No way” he said in disbelief as he looked at her with wide eyes.

Hyosung nodded and Kikwang grinned.

Without warning, he lifted her shirt up and looked at her stomach. He touched her stomach, taking pride in the fact that it was no longer flat and that his baby was in there, finally showing itself to the world.

“Your hand is cold” Hyosung whined.

They shared a laugh as Kikwang began to rub his hand over her stomach in an attempt to warm up his hand.

“This is unbelievable” he spoke.

Hyosung couldn’t help but start jumping around.

“This is exciting, Kikwang!” she said.

She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tight. As she pulled away, she kissed him.

It wasn’t something to be shocked about. After all…they were somewhat of a couple now…but still, it caught him off guard.

“I’m happy” she whispered against his lips.

She looked into his eyes, searching his eyes for some sign to go on.

“With me?” he asked boldly.

Hyosung nodded almost immediately.

“Yeah, with you” she assured him.

They didn’t need to share anymore words and so they continued on with their usual routines.

When Sohee finally woke up an hour later, Hyosung made sure that the first thing that Sohee saw was the bump.

Needless to say, everyone was happy.

As Kikwang watched Hyosung and Sohee chatter about baby things, he couldn’t help but frown a bit.

Although he was happy, he felt something at the very pit of his stomach.

He never allowed himself to be this happy because he has had to deal with the consequences more than enough.

Something was going to happen…it was only a matter of time.

The sudden flash of lightening illuminated the dark room for just a second before the room returned to darkness.

Lee Na Jun stared at the darkness as she blew out a puff of smoke from her cigarette. As another flash of lightening lit up the sky, she smirked.

Her fingers ran across the picture in her hand. It was only one…it was the only one she needed.

She leaned her head back to rest against the wall. The floor was cold but she didn’t mind. In fact, it soothed her.

She wondered when it would be the perfect time to attack. Tonight? Tomorrow? A month from now?

She had to think things through and have precise timing. She felt her smirk get bigger. She had no doubt that Kikwang would follow through on his threat. He might just kill her but she knew how to break him down…

He was the only thing that she wanted back in her life. He was her son, her baby and her life. No matter how much he would grow to hate her, she would never stop loving him.

She clenched her jaw as she thought of how that girl has poisoned him.

The thought of that girl using him was enough to drive her mad.

That girl had ruined her life and she would not sit around and stand it anymore.

Even if it was going to be the death of her own self, Lee Na Jun would definitely make that girl pay for everything.

She glanced at the digital clock and saw the numbers shining bright red. She ran her fingers over the photo once more.

Five more minutes…

Kikwang pulled at the collar of his shirt. He took in a deep breath as the elevator doors opened and he stepped out and walked down the hallway. He sighed as he saw his door. He hated working late. No doubt that Hyosung and Sohee would be asleep, so he had to be extra quiet. As he stopped in front of his door and opened the key pad to put in his pass code, he heard a soft crunch underneath his feet. He looked down, his eyes narrowing. He knelt down and picked up the object, quickly realizing that it was a photo.

He felt his heart quicken in pace and his breath caught in his throat. His hand trembled slightly as turned it over. The woman in the picture made his blood run cold and he instantly ripped it up. He looked over his shoulder but there was no one watching him.

“” he hissed.

He wasted no time in punching in the code and making his way inside. He locked the door and instantly looked through the peep hole but again, he saw nothing. He clenched his fists and shut his eyes tightly as he suppressed his anger.

“” he said once more.

The torn pieces of the photo felt as though they burned his hands. He threw the pieces onto the stove and turned it on, instantly lighting them on fire.

He watched the pieces burn, his vision blurry.

He swallowed hard and closed his eyes once more. No matter how hard he tried…it just wasn’t enough.  The person in the picture, with her large smile and her accusing eyes…she haunted him constantly.

He couldn’t escape.

His mother had found them…

Hyosung shook her head. She didn’t understand any of what he was saying…it didn’t make sense.

“What are you saying?” she asked Kikwang.

Kikwang felt his jaw clench. It was late and he knew that waking her up in the middle of the night and giving her explanations was a bad idea…but he couldn’t waste time.

“What do you mean that your mother found you? How?” she asked in a hushed tone.

They didn’t want to wake Sohee.

“She left a picture of herself right outside our door.”

He caught her gaze.

“She’s taunting me…” he said.

Hyosung took in a deep breath as she crossed her arms around herself.

“What should we do? Should we call the police?” she asked.

Kikwang sighed as he ran his hands through his hair.

“What good would it do?” he countered.

“Kikwang…the police can protect Sohee. Maybe they can provide bodyguards or something.”

Kikwang thought it over.

“Or we could send Sohee away…for the time being” Hyosung voiced.

Kikwang looked at her.

“Send her away?” he repeated.

Hyosung nodded.

She looked down at her clasped hands.

“We can send her to your dad.”

Kikwang instantly frowned. Before he could shut her idea down, Hyosung spoke up.

“He lives across the country and it would only be temporary. While she is gone, we can cooperate with the police and finally get your mother arrested or at least we can find somewhere else to live….somewhere she won’t be able to follow.”

Kikwang looked at Hyosung. From across the table, she looked confident but Kikwang knew better. She was afraid and uncertain that what she had suggested would even work.

“I’m not sending her to him. He can’t protect her…he never could. Everything he has done has only hurt Sohee in the long run. When my mother was torturing Sohee…he was nowhere around. He couldn’t help Sohee back then….he can’t help her now.”

Hyosung didn’t say anything. She looked down at her hands as Kikwang stood up from his chair and paced the floor.

“Hyosung…I’m afraid of what I might do” he spoke.

Hyosung looked at Kikwang.

He stopped pacing and stood in front of her.

“If she comes near Sohee once more…I might kill her.”

Hyosung didn’t say anything once more. Instead she held out her hand to him and he slowly put his hand in hers. She squeezed his hand tightly and pulled him towards her.

“It won’t come to that” she finally replied.

She would stick with him and she would protect Sohee.

Sohee looked around her room for any signs of anything that she could have possibly forgotten. She looked out of the window and sighed.

All of her energy suddenly melted away and she let her body plop down onto her bed. She to her side and continued to look out the window.

She understood the danger of the situation.

Kikwang’s mother had finally found them and in order to keep her safe, Kikwang had decided to send Sohee away.

Sohee wiped away the sudden tears. She held her breath as she listened to Kikwang and Hyosung move about in the apartment.

She couldn’t help but think that everything would be in vain.

There was a knock on her door.

“Sohee…I’m ready”

Hyosung’s voice drifted into the room as the door opened.

Sohee didn’t move.

Soon enough she felt Hyosung’s weight on sink down on the bed.

“It will be okay” she said.

Sohee shook her head.

“I don’t want to go” she whispered.

Sohee sat up and turned her head to look at Hyosung.

Hyosung bit her lower lip and sighed.

“Sohee-”

“I’m scared” Sohee voiced.

Sohee once again wiped the tears away and Hyosung carefully reached out and grabbed Sohee’s face. She wiped away the tears and rubbed Sohee’s face gently.

“I understand” was all that Hyosung said.

She wrapped her arms around the younger girl and held her tight.

“You will be in safe hands and your brother won’t be alone…he will have me” Hyosung voiced.

They pulled apart and Hyosung helped Sohee get to her feet.

As they walked out of the room, Kikwang was carefully looking through the peephole on the door.

“Ready?” he asked as he turned to look at his sister.

Sohee nodded and Kikwang offered her a small smile.

“Hey…don’t worry about me. I’m going to be fine.”

Sohee slowly nodded.

“Hyorin will take good care of you. Once this is over, I will come for you” he said.

With those words, he hugged her tight.

Once they let go of each other, Sohee picked up her school bag and pat down her school uniform. She stared at Kikwang and Hyosung for a bit before she took a deep breath and smiled.

“See you soon” she said.

Kikwang opened the door and watched as Hyosung and Sohee stepped out into the hall and made their way to the elevators. He watched carefully until they entered the elevator and disappeared behind the silver doors.

He shut the door and stood staring through the peephole, his right hand going into his left sleeve and retrieving a small knife as he stood and waited.

Hyosung smiled gratefully at her friend.

“Thanks for doing this Hyorin.”

Hyorin shook her head.

“It’s not a problem” she replied.

They watched as Sohee situated herself into Hyosung’s old room.  She would be staying with Hyorin until Kikwang’s mother was finally dealt with.

Hyorin looked at Hyosung with a worried expression.

“Will you be okay?” she asked.

Hyosung nodded.

“I will” she assured.

She let her eyes drift to Sohee.

“Just take care of her” she said.

Hyorin nodded.

Hyosung didn’t stick around for long. She knew that the longer she stayed, the more dangerous it would be.

By the time she made it back to Kikwang, he was sitting in the kitchen, his eyes on the knife that was on the table.

He waited until she sat down before he spoke.

“Nothing….I didn’t see her…or any sign of her” he said in a low voice.

Hyosung reached out and took his hands and stared at him with a hard gaze.

“Then we wait” she replied.

So I finally updated. I know, I know…it took me a long while. I want to thank everyone for their kind words and their patience!

Anyway…so Kikwang’s mother is finally out and ready to attack. What do you guys think will happen now that Kikwang is preparing to confront his mother? I can’t wait until the next update! Can you?!
