You will see two guys that have just got off from the departing bus and are running towards me, hand in hand. They are my best

bastards since primary school, Hyesung and Eric.

Don’t give me those curious eyes! Just spill it.

Wanna know why two boys are running hand in hand? Quite fishy, right?

Bingo!

If you think the one I’m thinking that you may think.

They are a couple.

Yes. A couple. A couple who are falling head over heels for each other. Like every other couple that you can see in streets.

Except there are only two guys and NO GIRL.

Are you against them? That what you asked?

HELL NO!

You know how long I was waiting them to end up like that?

Don’t make a confused face. You heard right.

I was expecting this relationship like for a decade.

Ok. I admit I am being a bit exaggerative here. Not a full decade. Maybe a quarter or half of it?

 But it’s true I knew them for a decade since I was 8 or 9. I was too young to know about the possibility of romantic feelings of a guy

to the other guy at that time but …

Hey! I always got that strange vibe whenever I was near them. Although we are all guys, Hyesung has always been a gentle and

delicate pretty “princess” … Don’t you dare to tell him about that name in my back! You’ll turn into pieces before Hyesung beats me

up into a pulp …. Ok … Where were we? Oh .. and Eric has always been a knight in a shining armor for Hyesung.

Carrying his books …. Walking back home … Taking him to amusement parks …

If you say Eric is protecting Hyesung in a man’s way, I’ll say Hyesung is taking care of Eric in a girl’s way … DON’T tell him that “girl”

thing too in my back! Understand?

But … It’s not my fault to call him “a girl”.

Which boy on this earth packs a lunchbox for his “friend” who is also a boy and takes care of his long nails with a nail clipper? Plus,

ONCE, HE EVEN STOLE RED GINSENG FOR HIS DAD BECAUSE HIS “FRIEND” IS NOT IN A GOOD SHAPE!

See why I’m saying “in a girl’s way”?

And I have been experiencing them for the last 4 or 5 years. Always being a third wheel.

Oh my! Don’t you want to pat my head? For some condolesense?

But! They are not bad friends to me.

They take care of me, of course. After all, I am the only one who has been with them and withstand their “seemingly-

bestfriends’-way-of-taking-care” actions for these years.

I usually have a roll of kimbap from Hyesung while Eric’s having a full lunchbox made by the same person who gives me kimbap. And

they take me along with them to amusement parks and buy me an ice cream before leaving me with a heap of coins for arcades.

See? I’m not saying they’re my best friends without a reason.

What? When they realized their feelings to each other???

Let me tell you this.

They realized their feelings almost since we became teenagers. And yeah, those bastards just acted like they were so dense and

didn’t have a single clue about what was happening between them.

Try those tricks to someone else! They don’t work with the smart “Lee Min Woo”.

You don’t know how much I went through to hit some senses into their heads.

Talking with Eric in a PC room while playing games. Talking with Hyesung in his kitchen while stealing some cookies he was baking.

Wooooohhhhh… I really did a lot of work for them… using my precious time to flirt with my crush and read mangas…  

But … Guess what? They forget my efforts when they became “boyfriends” a year ago.

Eric thinks he was so lucky to claim Hyesung’s love in reply and Hyesung thinks Eric was so brave to confess him like a man.

Well, guys. It’s ME who was behind those scenes all the time!

What unthankful friends they are!

Ok. Calm down, Min Woo. Calm Down. You’re Cool Guy. You don’t get mad with that kind of small, unimportant actions. They are just

two lovebirds who cannot see any other thing except each other.

They just cannot get enough each other, literally. Even me, the closest friend of Ricsyung couple, cannot understand how they

cannot be tired of being together for nearly 24 hours a day.

Hey! I really mean when I say “24 hours a day”.

Well, as you saw, they go to school by bus together every morning. I’m the only one who lives in the other side of the town while

their houses are in the same neighborhood. Every morning, Eric would go to in front of Hyesung’s house and wait for him there until

the “princess” have done with his hair and get out.

They would walk to the bus stop and take the bus. You know? Till today, I cannot find out the way how they can have the mood to

look at each other with those “Oh-I-am-loving-you-like-crazy” gazes in the super crowded bus with students like us. They even play

with each other’s fingers and do not give a damn about other students beside them sweating a lot in a sea of students and glaring at

them.

How I know about this? Ok. I unfortunately ended up sleeping over in Eric’s house for a project one day and unfortunately had to go

to school together with those two lovebirds and unfortunately had to smile back to all the glares giving at them in the bus because

they did not care about them.

Since that day, I decided not to go to school together with Eric and Hyesung. Never! Even if they offer money to me.

Ah? You’re curious about other things they do together?

Let me tell you this for your information.

They do EVERYTHING together. LITERALLY EVERYTHING.

They are in the same class taking same subjects. But, it’s fortunate for them, for me and other classmates and for teachers, of

course, that they don’t have a chance to sit side by side. Actually, their desks are quite far from each other due to the unknown

seating plan by our homeroom teacher. Thank You, Miss Kim! If not, I bet on my mangas that all the class including themselves would

never have a peaceful study time.

How can we concentrate on lessons while two of our classmates are sitting side by side, interwinning their legs, playing with each

other’s face and whispering and giggling?

No. I’m not being a drama queen.

They will surely do like that if they sit side by side.

But! Don’t worry! You will see the big affectionate time between Eric and Hyesung during the lunch break. Eric would come to

Hyesung’s desk and Hyesung would bring out the lunchboxes for both of them and there they go! They would share everything, even

a grain of rice or a strand of kimchi. You know that scene from romantic movies? A newly wed couple eating a meal together? Putting

the last piece of meat into each other’s spoon alternatively?

Yep. I see that scene every lunch time.

Then, after school, they go back home in the same way like when they come to school, lovey-doveying all the way and getting glares

from others, until they reach Hyesung’s home and say goodbye.

Oh? You think this is the end of a day for them being together?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I’ll laugh my head off if you think they’ll stay like that for the whole evening and night.

When they say goodbye in front of Hyesung’s front door, they are saying this for the next hour which they sadly have to spend for

changing clothes and showering.

Have you ever thought why hand phones were invented at the first place?

Talking, Texting, Chatting in Kakao …

They do all of them till the late hours or sometimes till midnight.

I once asked Eric what they talk about that much even though they have seen each other all day. And guess what he answered back!

“Minbong-yah, you’ll understand when you get a girlfriend …”  

What a loach!

Even if I get a girlfriend, I don’t think I will be like them. They are so … beyond the limit?

Now, because of them, I cannot even watch romantic movies anymore. Whenever I see the actor and the actress acting like a couple

who are falling for each other deeply and taking care of each other, I keep commenting like that in my mind.

“Tsk! That’s all you can do? Come on! Even sulking Hyesung can do more than that to Eric.”

See? And like that, how can I enjoy the movie when they keep popping up in my mind?

Oh! Wait! There’s a really daebak thing to tell you. Oh stupid me! How can I forget this?

One afternoon, I went to Eric’s house to borrow a game CD from him and guess what?

Hyesung’s in Eric’s room and they were in front of the computer, so being concentrated that they did not notice me behind them.

What were they doing? You ask?

THEY WERE WATCHING THE VIDEO OF HOW TO DO FRENCH KISS ON YOUTUBE!

Oh my! This naughty couple!

Of course. They got the greatest shock of their life when I gave a dry cough and Hyesung ran back to his home without even

greeting me.

This shy yet naughty princess.

And, a few days later, I asked Eric if they had done IT or not and he said it’s a private matter.

Fine. Anyway, he had already admitted without him knowing himself.

Stupid Eric.

But being a good friend, I told him not to bother watching them on Youtube because I have lots of them and I am gonna share them

with him.

Ooops! Topic change!

They are going to the same university (again?) next year and if they have the similar grades, they are even intending to take the

same major subject.

Good. Then, I’ll have to think about different subjects and universities with theirs.

No way I can withstand another 3 or 4 years seeing their toe-wiggling actions. I also have my freaking own life!

I am happy for them. Really happy for them and wishing that something bad would never ever happen to them.

But, still, I hate being the third wheel between them.

I’ll get a girlfriend and do all lovey-dovey things back to them.
