“Soo… soo..sooyeon?” L stuttered as he looked at Jessica in shock.

“You’re Sooyeon?” L asked her as he watched tears form in her eyes.

“L… I can explain…” Jessica said weakly as she approach him. But her heart broke into pieces when L took a few steps away from her.

The mothers of the two looked at one another, confused.

Jessica let out a heavy sigh, “Mrs Kim, mother…. Could you please give Myungsoo and I a couple of minutes?” She pleaded towards the two women who nodded and scurried upstairs.

She watched her mother’s back retreating into a guest room that Mrs Kim prepared for her. She turned around and faced an angry L who was glaring at her. She reached for her boyfriend’s hands but he quickly shook her off.

“When were you planning to tell me that you’re Sooyeon?” L asked Jessica coldly. Although he may be angry with her and is treating her coldly, his heart was actually aching. He couldn’t bear seeing Jessica break down into tears in front of him.

“I wanted to tell you… but I was scared that ---“

L angrily cut her off, “Scared? Scared of what!? You know I’ve always been trying to look for Sooyeon!”
