SHINee: The Reason

Minho was seated alone in the practice room.

Only the sound of his breathing could be heard.

Every group has a black hole, and for SHINee, it’s Minho.

He’s just the visual, meaning he basically does nothing except show up.

SHINee’s better off without him.

These words echoed in his head.

It was one of those times where haters would do nothing but bash at him.

People would say to ignore it but it’s easier said than done.

Their CEO has chosen him for a reason.

That’s what he keeps repeating to himself.

But that reason has never been clear to him.

Sure, he’s the visual and rapper and he’s worked damn hard to get to where he is now.

Minho has had a hard time in order to debut and once he finally debut, he got nothing but bad comments.

“Why am I a part of SHINee?” he asked himself but was surprised when someone chuckled.

He quickly turned around only to see his angel smiling at him.

“Because every group needs a good looking hottie with a y deep voice and incredibly amazing abs!” Yuri teased as she sat in front of him.

“You’re letting your erted side show again.” Minho warned while smiling back at her. Yuri’s presence was enough to lighten his mood up.

Yuri quickly covered with her hands.

Minho chuckled and pinched her cheeks.

“Forget what the haters say.” Yuri stared at him as she knew exactly what he was thinking about for probably hours now.

Minho rubbed the back of his head, “Stop getting in my head.” He scolded.

Yuri meronged him, “I’m your girlfriend, it’s my job to know what you’re thinking!”

“Well you’re doing great.” Minho gave her a thumbs up.

He was still spacing out and Yuri knew him to well to just assume that he’s tired.

“Why did you become an idol?” Yuri asked seriously.

Minho knew exactly why, “It’s my passion to sing and dance. That’s just who I am.”

“And does it make you happy?” she raised her eyebrow.

“OF COURSE!” Minho answered quickly.

Yuri smiled “Then that should be the only thing in your mind. It’s your dream; don’t let other people ruin it for you.”

Minho stared at her, admiring her everything.

This is exactly the reason why idol life is bearable for him.

Having that one person who you could lean on and knows your problems even before you open your mouth.

The girl who could make him smile just by her presence.

“Bwoh? Is there something in my face?” Yuri quickly spun around to look at herself in the mirror.

“Here…” Minho cupped her face and gave her a light kiss.

Yuri blushed madly.

“What was that for?” she asked shyly as she looked down on the floor.

Minho smiled at her and lowered his gaze so he could stare at her eyes.

“For always being my light when I’m in the dark.”

“Aigo, you’re so cheesy!” Yuri playfully pushed him.

“Stop ruining the moment.” Minho pinched her cheeks again.

Yuri held his hands. “Ara. Just know that I’m always here for you, ok? Don’t keep it all inside.”

Minho sighed, “I’m sorry you have me as a boyfriend.”

Next thing he knew Yuri whacked the back of his head.

“YAH! Don’t say that! I’m incredibly lucky to have you as a boyfriend!”

Minho laughed, “Well I’m luckier to have you.”

Yuri replied by curling up her fingers.

Minho laughed at her cuteness and kissed her hands causing it to go back straight.

“What would I be now without you?” He asked.

Yuri giggled, “You’d be admitted to a mental hospital for overthinking.”

“Exactly! I would have lost it.” Minho smiled at her as she laid her head on his shoulder.

They stayed like that for a while, just enjoying each others company.

No other words were needed to be said as they both know that they loved each other very much.
