Yuri woke up the sound of her phone ringing.

“Yoboseyo?” she answered groggily.

“Y-y-yuri ahhhhhhh… Anneyeoooooongg…” 

 

Yuri looked at her bedside clock, 3:25am.

“Minho yah. Where are you?” she asked patiently.

All she heard was a groan and loud music playing in the background.

“Are you with any of your members?” she asked.

“Ani. They’re all asleep. hehehe.” he laughed.

 

“I’ll pick you up. Stay where you are.” 

Yuri hanged up and checked his GPS status to find his location.

It wasn’t long until she found him throwing up outside a club.

 

“Aigooo.” she sighed out before rushing to his aid.

Minho smiled at her while she wiped the excess vomit on his lips.

“Let’s get you home.” she dragged him to her car.

Minho was just smiling his way through.

 

Yuri carefully buckled him up in the car before driving.

Minho was half asleep in no time in the passengers seat.

“What am I gonna do with you?” she asked herself.

 

 

 

KNOCK KNOCK

 

Onew opened the door with his eyes half open.

“Help please?” Yuri pleaded.

Onew’s eyes quickly widened and help Yuri bring Minho to his room.

 

“What happened this time?” she asked as Onew made her tea.

“She got mad at Minho for being protective.” he started off.

“Protective about?”

“Hyuna has a photoshoot which asks her to expose more than she should.”

Yuri made an O with .

 

“And then, this happened because Hyuna won’t talk to him now.” Onew sipped on his tea.

Yuri did so too.

“Hyuna’s not good for him. He’s becoming weak.” Onew confessed.

Yuri already knew. 

 

“But the heart wants what the heart wants.” he sighed out.

“If only you two actually dated then everything would be much better.” he spilled.

Yuri looked at her cup.

 

Onew mentally slapped his self.

He knew that Yuri liked Minho but he’s too naive to notice.

He remembers how Yuri would be excited in any MinYul article was released.

She would fan girl over it and Minho would just laugh.

 

 

 

THE NEXT WEEK

 

They were having rehearsals for Dream Concert.

“4Minute, you’re up.” the director asked them to start practicing.

Minho looked up at his girlfriend in awe.

 

Yuri nudged him.

“You’re drooling.” she joked.

“Oh, Yuri ah! Long time no see.” he smiled.

 

“How’s everything?” she asked.

Minho just shrugged, even he didn’t know where he and Hyuna’s relationship stood.

 

4minute finished their rehearsals and now it was SHINee’s turn.

Yuri and the rest of the girls were watching them set up the stage.

Yuri was looking at Minho as he was putting on his mic, but something felt weird.

She looked at the other end of the stage to see Hyuna flirting with one of her male backup dancers.

 

At first it was just laughing and rubbing elbows.

But what surprised her was the kiss.

LIPS TO LIPS.

 

Minho wasn’t aware of what was going on.

He was too into their dance to notice.

Everyone was occupied with their phones to care about what’s going on onstage.

 

Yuri couldn’t help it anymore.

She marched to the side of the stage and asked to talk to Hyuna alone.

Hyuna gave her a weird look before she asked everyone to leave.

 

 

EVERYBODY! EVERYBODY! EVERY-EVERYBODY!

Played in the background.

 

 

“What were you doing just now?” Yuri went straight to the point.

“Excuse me?” Hyuna pretended not to know.

“I saw everything. You kissed your backup dancer!” Yuri couldn’t control her temper anymore.

 

“What’s it to you? Mind your own business!” Hyuna was about to walk away.

“WHAT’S IT TO ME?!” Yuri yelled causing Hyuna to stop walking and turn around.

“YOU’RE DATING MINHO AND KISSING THE GUY AT THE SAME TIME! WHAT’S IT TO ME?!!!”

 

Hyuna glared while marching back to Yuri.

“I can kiss whoever I want to kiss. I can date whoever I wanna date. I can do it both at the same time. And you can’t tell me I can’t. Get that in your thick skull!” Hyuna poked Yuri’s head.

Yuri grabbed Hyuna’s arm and at that point Minho saw them.

 

Minho ran up to Hyuna and shoved Yuri’s arm away.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Minho asked angrily.

Hyuna quickly hugged him.

“I was just getting ready to get off when she grabbed me. It hurts Minnie…” Hyuna lied.

 

“Wh-what?! Hyuna stop lying. Minho she’s cheating on you.” Yuri started getting annoyed.

“She always hated me Minho yah. She also threatened me to stop dating you. I think she likes you and she’s trying to break us apart.” Hyuna pouted.

 

Minho looked at Yuri disappointed. “I thought you were my friend. I guess I was wrong.”

With that, Minho and Hyuna walked away hand in hand.

Hyuna looked back and gave Yuri a smirk.

 

 

 

THE NEXT DAY

 

“Y-y-yuri ah…” he heard a groggy sound on the phone.

“What do you want?” she answered rudely.

“I-I-I need you right now.” Minho’s voice started getting shaky.

“Jeongmal. I really really need you right now.” he sounded desperate.

Yuri clenched her first trying to resist him.

But it was of no use.

“Where are you?” she gave in.

 

 

 

A FEW MINUTES LATER.

 

Yuri wrapped her jacket tighter.

It was 2 in the morning and it was freezing cold.

She walked at the park where Minho was supposed to be.

After a few minutes of looking around she finally saw him seated on a bench.

It was dim so she couldn’t really make out his expression.

 

“Minho?” she called out.

“YURI-AH!” He shouted out loud.

Yuri shook her head. He’s drunk, again.

 

“Come on, I’ll take you home.” she offered.

“Ani.” Minho shook his head.

Yuri could see his face clearly now.

He was crying.

Minho doesn’t usually cry.

 

“Yuri -ah. hehehe. You were right.” he laughed.

“NAEGA PABOYAH.” He hit his head with his fist.

Yuri just watched him.

 

“I-I -I saw them making out. Hyuna and this guy.” tears were escaping his eyes.

He continued drinking.

“Am I that pitiful?” he asked while smiling with tears still falling.

“I am… I am…” he answered his self.

 

Yuri didn’t know what to do.

But seeing him like this made her heart hurt.

 

She waited until he fell asleep on the bench.

Yuri sat on the edge with his head on her lap.

 

Yuri his head.

They stayed like that for an hour.

It was dead silent.

 

But it was soon broken by Minho’s groan.

“Yuri ah…” he mumbled with his eyes still closed.

Yuri looked at him.

“What do you think would have happened if I asked you out instead of her?” Minho asked.

Yuri was taken back.

 

“To be honest… I was going to asked you out then… but I got scared…” he laughed still a bit drunk.

 

“I’m such a pabo…” he laughed at his self.

“I thought that diverting my feelings to Hyuna would make me forget about you.”

“But ani…ani.” he laughed again this time tears were escaping again.

 

“I always end up calling you in the middle of the night. I always want to hear your voice…”

Yuri was trying to let his words sink in.

 

“Minho yah… let’s go back. You should rest and it’s getting really cold.” Yuri helped Minho seat up.

He was drunk, and Yuri knew that he shouldn’t fall for a drunk man’s words.

 

She started walking away.

“Yuri ah.” Minho called out, he was still sitting on the bench.

“If I asked you out then… would you have said yes?” he asked.

 

Yuri looked at him for a while. 

“Yes.” she mumbled.

 

Minho laughed.

“Geurae. Let’s go home.” he walked unsteadily to her.

 

 

 

THE NEXT DAY

 

Yuri woke up to a smell of flowers.

She slowly opened her eyes to see a huge bouquet on her bed side table.

There was a note.

 

“Meet me at the park where we were last night at 7pm. ~ C.M”

Yuri felt uneasy but excited at the same time.

 

All day she’s been trying to figure out what to wear.

She doesn’t know why, but she felt butterflies in his stomach.

But then she didn’t want to let her hopes high.

 

 

 

 

THAT NIGHT

 

Yuri was right on time. 7pm.

She was dressed casually. She didn’t want him to feel burdened.

Carefully, she scanned the park. 

It was empty.

 

She walked to the bench where Minho and her stayed last night only to see him there again.

He too was dressed casually.

“Anneyeong.” he greeted casually.

Yuri smiled and sat next to him.

 

“So?” she asked after a moment of silence.

Minho was just staring at her.

 

“Remember that time when you visited me at the hospital right after you landed from Japan at 5am?” he asked.

Yuri was shock.

“And remember when you got your hair all messed up before an event because you ran from the clinic, to our dressing room to leave pain killers when I had a headache?” he continued.

“And that time when-“ he was stopped.

 

“Wait. How did you know?” she asked in disbelief.

“You were still asleep when I visited you in the hospital from Japan and you were at the toilet when I left the pain killers.” 

 

Minho tucked a few strands of her hair behind her shoulders.

“You’ve always been there for me. I know.” he smiled at her.

“And I’m sorry for not being there for you.” he held her hands.

 

“I remember all the times you would pick me up when I was drunk in the middle of the night. For always calming me down and making me laugh whenever Hyuna and I fight. For always laughing at my lame jokes. I remember everything.” he stared at her.

 

“How are you only seeing this now?” Yuri choked on her words.

“I’ve been waiting for 6 years.” she tried not to cry but a drop of tear fell.

 

“How could you only see that you belong with me after all these years?” she slightly punched his chest.

 

Minho laughed. “I always knew, but I thought it was you who didn’t know that YOU belong with me.”

 

“PABO YAH!” Yuri let her tears escape.

Minho pulled her in for a tight hug.

“What do you say? Shall we start again? Nae yeoja jingo?” he asked.

Yuri giggled. “I would love to.”
