Daehyun glares at the pixelly Youngjae on his phone screen, who's adjusting his beanie and sighing.

"I miss you, that's all."

"I know you miss me, but that doesn't mean you have to call me every hour. You're not even that far away!"

That much is true - Daehyun's just in Busan, while Youngjae's in Seoul, but spending a week apart is practically unbearable for Daehyun, who's never dealt well with being alone.

Daehyun pouts, and Youngjae mimes throwing something at him, the camera going black for a few seconds before Youngjae withdraws his hand and his face comes back into focus.

"Don't do that," Daehyun whines, pouting, "it means I get to see less of your face!"

Youngjae rolls his eyes. "You're going to see it in a few days. Why don't you go eat something? Don't you have anything better to do than call me?"

Daehyun's stomach growls in agreement, but his mind, heart, and stomach all seem to want different things and the easiest thing to do at the moment seems to ignore all of them and just go to sleep.

"I gotta go, I think Himchan-hyung wants something. Have fun!"

Youngjae waves and disconnects the call, and Daehyun slumps down listlessly onto his bed.

He's no stranger to being alone, of course - when he'd first left Busan for Seoul for training, he'd cried himself to sleep nearly every night because he missed his family. Luckily, he'd soon found comfort in his fellow members, Youngjae especially, since the two were the same age and were set to become the two main vocalists. Soon, they did almost everything together, and spending any time apart was delving into unfamiliar territory for Daehyun.

With a sigh, he rolls over, staring out the window at the darkening sky, an arm reaching out instinctively to pull an absent warm body closer. His fingers close on his blankets, and he pulls them close, his eyes closing as he adjusts his body in an attempt to sleep without someone beside him.
