It's All Lies
B.A.P Song DrabblesSong: It's All Lies (전부 거짓말) [english translation]
Pairing: broken!Daehyun/Youngjae
Like a fool, like a coward
I couldn’t tell you I loved you
I feel like I know about your love
The words “come back to me”
The words “everything is a lie, I can forget”
I know you the best, I know you well
I know you better than anyone else
We loved each other
There's a fly hovering above Daehyun's head.
Yet somehow, he can't bring himself to care, staring up at the ceiling, his eyes unfocused, his head bent at an odd angle on the wooden armrest of his couch.
He's known for a long time that his relationship with Youngjae hadn't been going well. They were young and stupid and (Daehyun'd thought that they were) head-over-heels in love.
But after a while, Daehyun had grown overly confident—going out for drinks with friends a little more often, flirting a little with other people, turning off his phone so he wouldn't be disturbed during a night out—certain that Youngjae would remain faithfully by his side.
He was wrong.
Oh, so wrong.
He shouldn't have been surprised when Youngjae approached him one night and told him that he didn't love him anymore.
"Can you look me in the eyes," Youngjae had said, a peculiar emotion hinting in the depths of his dark orbs, "and tell me that you still love me?"
I do, Daehyun's mind had shouted, screamed, shrieked, as his mouth opened. I love you. I always have. And I always will.
But he could make no sound come forth from his lips, and Youngjae had merely half-smiled, hiding behind his usual facade of cocky sureness to mask the hurt in his heart.
"Perhaps our love had been real in the beginning... but I can't bring myself to keep loving a lie. I deserve better, Jung Daehyun, and you know it."
And Youngjae had walked out the door with nary a final parting glance.
Come back to me, Daehyun had wanted to scream, but his body had remained frozen in place, shuddering sobs the only movements his body made.
Somehow he had managed to find his way to the sofa, where he'd collapsed and hadn't gotten up for days, wondering where the younger possibly could have gone, wondering who his love was with, wondering how he could have missed this, despite thinking that he'd known Youngjae better than anyone else.
Although, Daehyun decides, whenever you think you know someone, you've really only brushed the surface.
He'd never known that this would have been the person he'd become.
Nothing more than a broken liar.
