Walking home from school has never taken as long as today. You did bad on this exam and you know it. How many are still left? You stop and stare blankly at the clear sky, then sit on the nearest bench, sighing hopelessly. The city appears grey even though the weather is okay.

You’re soon lost in your emotions as a voice startles you out of your trance. You glance around nervously. There suddenly are no people around, it kind of creeps you out. You try to focus on the voice.

Suddenly it becomes black before your eyes and you see stars and feel something crash into your face.

Painful.

“I finally found you.” The voice whispers, breathing heavily.

“What-”

The thing in your lap stares at you oddly. You regain your sight and notice that it’s nothing more than an ordinary pigeon. Who talks. And is currently staring at you.

“I travelled all the way here, and you ask what?”  The pigeon shakes its body and fixes its wings in place.

“I…” You blink continuously, trying to convince yourself that you’re not hallucinating.

“Come on now, hurry and take me home, I need to tell you my story. And eat.” It insists, tapping on your hand.
