Kris paced slowly, taking his time with each step. Behind him, he could hear the running footsteps of his brothers and playful laughter from them. Then, someone ran passed him. He raised his head, changing his eyes from the floor of the forest to look at that person as he could feel their shoulders barely brushed each other’s – like feather touch. There she was, smiling at him from over her shoulder before she turned ahead again.

She stopped running and he paused on his feet. His eyes never left hers once she spun her body around to face him – she had her movement gracefully, almost like floating on the ground. She flashed her adorable smile again.

“Can I?” she asked him, slightly frowning even though the beautiful smile still pasted on her lips. Kris blinked for a while, scanning around the night wood. Someone tapped him from behind.

“Let her, hyung...nobody is here except us...” Tao assured him, smiling mischievously before his eyes shifted to her. She was waiting for his answer, putting her hands on her hips. Kris finally sighed and looked at her with a nod.

“Don’t go too high...” he managed to remind her before she winked and walked away. Tao, Lay, Chen and Xiumin followed after her – running like a group of dumb-happy-for-nothing kids. Only Luhan stood next to Kris, watching them with him. As Kris had his eyes fixed on her, he recalled a small talk he had back then with the other archangels.

“What...what will happen if an angel falls in love?” Tao slipped the question from his mouth hesitantly. Changmin and Yunho exchanged meaningful looks between them. Changmin cleared his throat and stared back to Tao.

“Once you’re a human, you’re given a heart...once you have a heart, you’re mingling with feelings...an ultimate feeling of human that similar to us is love...because angels have no philosophy but love...still, our love centered to our Father...so if you change your heart to love a human, you’ll lose your immortality...”

“What? Is...is that mean...we can’t never be back to Heaven?” Chen interrupted between Changmin’s explanation. Yunho glanced at him. “Yes...”

Silence wrapped between them before Changmin nodded his head and shifted his body towards Kris.

“So as the leader of this mission, you need to be aware of it...angel is forbidden to give its heart to a human...if one of you decided to do so, not just you will lose your immortality...but you’ll also vanish...”

“Die? Why?” Lay looked at Changmin through his anxious eyes.

“Because...angels do not except love from one another but from God alone...so if you started to love a human, it means...you’re betraying our Father’s faith...” Yunho let out a heavy sigh, tired of listening to the explanation.

“To make it simple...you can’t love the human...break the rule and you’ll just die in vain...”

“Well...what a shame to lose an angel just because of broken love with the human...” Changmin concluded after him and the six M members nodded their heads.

Kris bit his lips and closed his eyes for a minute. The moment he snapped open it back, she – the girl that laughing cheerfully in front of him was the one who filled his sight. Kris swallowed hard down his throat.

“You can’t love the human...break the rule and you’ll just die in vain...”

“But...what if I do not love a human?” Kris whispered inside his head as the girl now was having her back on him.

She stood still, took a deep breath before she spread her arms – letting go of her mighty silvery wings to both of her sides. The white feathers on it swept between the trees around her. Kris watched her in amazement as she glowed magnificently, lighting up the darkness inside the wood.

“...what if...I’m loving an angel? Will I still die?” Kris resumed the question that stuck inside his brain before the wings lifted up the girl away from the ground. The M members stared at her from below – Seohyun was indeed, one pretty angel.
