A month passed without me realizing it and here I was, on a cab to our hotel in Tokyo! I looked out of the window and admired the sight of this beautiful city in the setting sun. Siwon, who was sitting by my side, was more interested in his notebook filled with the details of his baking competition.

For the past month, he had nothing on his mind but the baking competition that he was driving me crazy! Much as I was trying to stop crushing on him, I couldn’t help but continue to take extra notice of what he says or does even though I was still casually dating Yunho whom I must admit seems to be trying to get our relationship to the next level. I’m starting to like Yunho more but still, there was another man in my heart that I think it wouldn’t be fair for me to accept him just yet. 

We arrived at the hotel and checked into our room which was situated on the highest floor. The view was magnificent and I couldn’t help but gasp in awe as I stood by the glass window. Siwon too was really impressed by the room. It was getting late by the time we settled in so we had dinner in the hotel before retiring to our rooms to rest for the night. 

I was sitting in front of my laptop engrossed in reading travel guides while Siwon was on the bed reading his notes. 

“Siwon, shall we visit the Tokyo Tower tomorrow or would you prefer to visiting the temples?” 

Siwon grunted. “Anything is fine with me.”

I was getting pissed at him but I decided to keep my cool and ignored him for the rest of the night. I was looking forward to this trip so badly but it had to be ruined by this baking competition which I thought nothing of. 

After a couple of hours, Siwon gave out a loud yawn. “I’m heading to bed, Yuri. Good night.”

He picked up a pillow from the bed and headed to the couch.

“Why are you sleeping on the couch when there’s a bed?” I asked incredulously. 

Siwon’s eyes shifted to the bed and an awkward smile appeared on his face. “Well I thought you should have the bed. I’m not sure if you are comfortable sharing a bed with me and I’m sure Yunho wouldn’t approve of that.”

No I certainly wouldn’t mind sharing a bed with you, idiot. It’s not a big deal and I trust you. But whatever.

“Good night.” I crawled below the comforters and laid alone in the big empty bed as I watch Siwon make himself comfortable on the tiny couch.

The next morning, I woke up to find Siwon missing from the room. There was a note on my bedside table saying “Gone for a swim.”

How could he just leave without me? I pouted unhappily, got changed into my bikini and headed down to the pool. Before I could even see the pool, I could hear loud squeals and excited voices coming from it. As I approached it, I saw Siwon having a friendly chat with three beautiful Korean girls in the pool. The girls were shamelessly flirting with him and one even ran her hand over his abs! That stupid guy was being polite with them and he actually seemed to enjoy the attention he was given! Siwon caught sight of me and gave me a friendly wave. I threw him a patronising smile and proceeded to remove my bath robe to reveal my bikini. As if sensing I was a threat to them, the girls shot me death glares as I entered the pool.

“Morning Yuri!” Siwon greeted me chirpily which earned me fiercer stares from the girls.

A girl with a butterfly tattoo on her neck asked, “Siwon, who is she?”

Siwon grinned. “Well, she’s my friend and employee.”

“So you weren’t lying to me when you said you were single!” Another girl in a red bikini squealed as she placed her hand on his shoulder. 

I felt sick seeing how these girls were shamelessly throwing themselves on Siwon and how that idiot was loving that! Without saying a word to him, I swam to another side of the pool by myself. When I reached the other end of the pool, Siwon was by my side. Why did he have to follow me? 

“Hey Yuri, you seem upset. Why don’t you want to hang out with my new friends?”

OH MY GOD HOW DUMB IS HE GOING TO GET?!

“They obviously don’t seem to want to hang out with me. I’m not a hot dude with a nice body they can lay their hands on.”

Siwon bit his lower lip and looked confused. “Right… I suppose so…”

“Go back to them, you don’t have to bother about me. You were enjoying yourself, I don’t want to spoil your fun.” I replied spitefully. Of course I didn’t mean what I said. I got out of the pool, threw on my robe and headed back to the room. 

“Wait for me!” He called out before hastily catching up with me. 

“Yuri,” he held on to my arm and I turned around to look at him.

“Ya?” I asked. I noticed how close our faces were. I soon found myself drowning in his eyes. I was mad at him and wanted to just walk away, but I couldn’t! My body was frozen to the ground.

“I’m sorry about what happened. I didn’t mean to make you feel left out. I care about you, Yuri. I love being with you. I couldn't ask for anyone better to be on this trip with. ” 

He sounded so sweet and sincere in his apology that all the anger in me dissipated instantly. But I wasn’t going to let this go so easily.

“You’re going to have to follow me wherever I want to go for the rest of the day to make up for it!”

He laughed and nodded, before shaking his head. “I hope we’re not going to end up shopping all the day long.”

Luckily for him that wasn’t the case. I had planned a fun day out for us to visit numerous must-see destinations in Tokyo. We both had a great time together and by the end of the day, we were exhausted but still wore bright smiles on our faces. When we got back to the hotel room, Siwon was back to studying his notes for the competition. 

“Why are you always reading your notes? Don’t you get bored of them?” I stuck my nose in between him and his notes, as I crawled up onto the bed to sit by his side.

“I’m reading up on my competitors, their specialties and strategies to win. I really want to win this competition. I haven’t done anything in my life that I’m proud of. I’m 27 but all I got is a small cafe which I co-own with my sister.”

I shook my head sadly. “That’s not true, Siwon. That’s a big achievement, to be your own boss. Many people dream of that.” 

“Yuri, you’re going to be so proud of me when I win this.”

We sat in silence and were busy with our own respective reading material until I heard him snore cutely from beside me. He had fallen asleep with his notes still in his hands. I couldn’t help but think that he looked cute while sleeping and gave out a soft giggle. I carefully took the notes out of his hand and placed it on the bedside table before I laid on the bed beside him. I found myself staring at his features closely and my hand reached out to softly trace his jawline. 

“Siwon ah, if only I can tell you that I have a crush on you. I wonder how you feel about me.” 

Knowing he was asleep, I allowed myself to speak the words that I had hidden deep in my heart.

“I don’t know when or how but I started to develop some feelings for you. And then Yunho came into the picture. I like him but I’m not sure if I like him the way I like you. It hurts me that you kept pushing me towards him, as though you don’t have a single bit of interest in me.”

I knew I was crazy but I couldn’t help myself but leaned over and kissed him softly on the cheek. After doing that, I laid back on my pillow and giggled like a ditzy school girl in love before closing my eyes.

And then I felt someone kiss me back on the cheek. I must be dreaming.
