Foreword
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Force announced at a press conference yesterday that they will cease all investigations on the case dubbed 'The Halloween Murders' by the press and public.
The horrific discovery of four college students murdered at an abandoned mansion shook the nation one day after Halloween. According to the coroner, the four victims were murdered within 24 hours from the discovery of the bodies. The police has refused to disclose the cause of deaths, citing the lack of evidence to make any conclusions.
The victims were 22-year-old Choi Siwon and Lee Donghae and 21-year-old Choi Sooyoung and Kwon Yuri. The victims were believed to be goods friends attending the same college. Because they are from reputable families, there has been great interest in this case by the public and additional pressure on the police to bring their attackers to justice.
The announcement to cease all investigation was met with violent protests from the families of the victims. However, the police commissioner has admitted that the lack of potential suspects has hindered any further development in their investigation.
