“So, I think it’ll be the end of this case. We’ve destroyed the chip, Minseok.” The CIA, Jason White, said, “Take care of the cut from the surgery on your shoulder blade well.”

Minseok nodded, rubbing his own shoulder blade.

“And for you,” Jason looked at Kris and Yixing, “I think I can find you places to work.”

“What do you mean?” Kris raised his eyebrows.

Jason clasped his hands together and rested his chin on them, “You’re known as the best shooters, Kris, with Tao. And Yixing, I really appreciate it if you agree to share your skill in computer. So, I’m offering you to be one of us, how is it?”

Kris smirked, “Thanks. But, no thanks. I’m sure even though Tao isn’t here, he won’t agree on it either. We’re pretty much content to live as assassins.”

“Too bad, it means I have to arrest you.” Jason sighed, “But, maybe not now since I’m still working to close this case. So, next time I meet you, guys, I’ll arrest you for sure.”

“Wait.” Minseok interrupted, “What about my real father? You said he’s still alive, right? Ca-can I meet him…?”

“Yes, he’s still alive and he’s been working with us again. But, I’m afraid you can’t see him.”

Minseok’s face fell in disappointment, “Okay…”

“So, until next time, then.” Jason smiled, “Be prepared because I won’t go easy on you.”

“So do we, see you, Jason.” Kris smirked and pushed both Minseok and Yixing out of the CIA building.

Minseok entered the room where Tao was being hospitalized and saw the younger male was staring blankly out of the window. He cleared his throat to gain Tao’s attention. The raven haired male turned his face to see Minseok and smiled. Minseok gave Tao a soft kiss on lips and sat beside the bed.

“How’s your feeling?” The older of the two asked.

Tao sighed, “It’s still burning as hell.”

Minseok placed his hand carefully on Tao’s bandaged abdomen and rubbing it softly, “You’re going to heal soon.”

“How about your surgery? Was it done well?”

The chubby male nodded, “Nothing was out of the line. It would leave a small scar on my shoulder blade, but it’s better than being a walking data that could be blown anytime though.”

Tao chuckled and Minseok’s soft locks lovingly. Minseok leaned closer and let the younger to lead the kiss. Tao deepened it by pushing Minseok’s head closer to him. But, then their sweet moment was interrupted by the ring of Minseok phone. Tao groaned in dissatisfaction while Minseok sent him an apologetic smile. He saw an unknown number on the display of his phone. He pressed the green button and brought his phone to his ear.

“Hello?”

“Hello, Minseok.”

Minseok frowned as he heard an unfamiliar voice, “Yes, who’s this?”

A silence.

“Hello?” Minseok tried again, “I’m going to hang up if you do-”

“It’s been a long time, my son.” The deep voice softened.

The chubby male stood up abruptly, “Dad…?”

“I’m glad you’re fine, Minseok.”

Minseok’s tears fell down, “I’m not ing fine, you irresponsible father! Where the are you?! Why did you leave me when I was a baby?! Why didn’t you visit me?! Why did I have to know the whole situation after I have been grown up?!”

Tao, seeing the tears rolling down non-stop from Minseok’s eyes, pulled the older closer and wiped them all. He kissed Minseok’s cheeks to clean the tears, but Minseok kept sobbing heart-wrenchingly.

“I’m sorry, Minseok…” The man on the other line said, “I know you’ll be fine without me by your side. You have people to protect you, right? Kris, Yixing and especially Tao.”

Minseok nodded, “I know but…it’s still hurting that I don’t even know how your face looks, Dad…it hurts…”

“I know, Son, but I’m sure your life will be pretty much fine without me. You’ve gone through it before, right?”

“It was because I didn’t know that the parents who had raised me weren’t the real one…”

“But, you’re all grown up now. Stand on your own feet. I know you can.”

Minseok wiped his tears, “Where are you now? Can we meet just once…?”

“We can’t, Minseok, a job as CIA is no joke. I’m afraid if I meet you there will be some people chase after you because they know that you’re my weakness. But, I’ve been always watching you since I left you. I even know you fell when you were six from the second floor because you were too naughty to climb the roof.” Minseok could hear the man chuckle and it sent a warm feeling to his chest. At least, he knew that even though he’d never known the other man, his father was always there to watch him.

Tao saw Minseok’s lips curled up into a soft smile and he sighed in relief. Suddenly, he saw a flash outside the window. He turned his face and saw something glistening on the high room of the building beside the hospital. He saw the tiny silhouette of man there. And he couldn’t help but scoff mentally.

He’s really watching his son. But, from up there, really? By binoculars? Aish that old man…

“Here.” Suddenly Minseok shoved his phone to Tao’s face.

“What?”

“Dad wants to speak with you.” Minseok explained.

Tao received the phone, “Hello?”

“I know you’ve known where I am, Kid.” There was a hint of protection in the other man voice, Tao noticed. The injured male smirked and turned his face to look at the roof again, “Yeah, your hideout isn’t the best place, you know?”

“At least I could see how you both kissed from here.”

“Such a ert old man for seeing his own son making out with his boyfriend.” Tao chuckled.

Tao could see Minseok frowning questioningly, “I’m going to protect your son no matter what, Mr. Kim, and you’re leaving him on the right hands.”

The man on the other line sighed, “I know. I hope you’ll keep your promise, Tao. Don’t ever you break his heart or I’ll chop your .”

Tao laughed, “Don’t worry, it’s not going to happen.”

“Good. Now, can I speak to my son again?”

Tao handed the phone back to Minseok. The chubby male talked for a while before hanging up. He sat on the edge of Tao’s bed and the black hair of his boyfriend with a heavy sigh.

“What’s wrong, Baby?” Tao asked, giving Minseok’s chin a light kiss.

“Nothing. It’s a bit sad that we’re moving back to Korea tomorrow but I still can’t see my dad.”

Tao smiled, “You’ll be fine. He’ll be fine. I don’t think the phone you received earlier would be the last one. He’ll find a way to contact you again.”

Minseok nodded and hugged his younger boyfriend.

He knew he had made a decision to follow Tao’s team as the assassins. He knew the risk that he could be caught and arrested if they were found later. He knew he could be killed by other mafias if they were ready to be active on the field again. And he knew his decision would make him on the opposite side from his CIA father.

But, he didn’t care. At least he had Kris and Yixing as his family and Tao as his loving boyfriend and his protector.

He didn’t need anything anymore.

Life would be better in the future.

“Baby, can you move for a while? I need to pee.”

“Aish! Tao! You ruined the mood!”
