Dealing....or not

Life is a game but this isn't

After the excited phone call and spazzing came the awkward conversation with the company and just like with Thunder and Sung-hee Delphine and Seung Ho were told to keep it quiet for now.  They weren’t told how long they would have to wait but neither were surprised, A+ were finally accepting Sung-hee and Thunder they didn’t need another explosion at such a crucial time.  Delphine didn’t complain about that though she did spend about a week and a half bugging Sung-hee about her little ‘present’ at the wedding.  After a rather intense pillow fight Sung-hee agreed to not play match maker anymore and to make no more jokes over the bouquet, out loud anyway.

With a sigh Delphine opened up her Star Wars Clone Wars DVD and was about to start watching Sung-hee practically ripped the door open an excited look on her face.  Before Delphine could even ask Sung-hee was right in front of her waving a magazine excitedly.  “Get that out of my face before I beat you with it.”

“It’s not in your face it’s in my hand.”  Nevertheless she stopped waving it around but a huge grin remained.

Rolling her eyes Delphine pushed the magazine down a bit, “Get what’s in your hand out of my face.”  Taking a seat on the couch she put the DVD back in its case to be forgotten for now.  “What’s with the magazine anyway?”  Taking the magazine from her Delphine looked at the cover and saw nothing of real interest.  A few mentions of articles for BEAST and 2NE1 all noteworthy and fangirl ensuing but not the level in which Sung-hee was freaking out.

“You know how I had that interview with Sanghyun like two weeks ago?”

“Oh yeah I half thought you made that up.”

Sung-hee raised a brow and chuckled a bit before taking a seat on the couch as well scooting closer to Delphine.  “Girl please I’m not that smart.”

Grinning Delphine shrugged and began flipping through the magazine slowly.  “Fair enough.”

“Okay rude your is supposed to disagree and be like oh no Sung-hee you’re so smart and wonderful and amazing and the best friend I’ve ever had!”  To Delphine sticking her tongue out Sung-hee shoved her into the arm of the couch.  “Just turn to page fifty-seven already!”

Putting the magazine on her lap Delphine shoved Sung-hee away almost pushing her off the couch completely. “Alright, alright don’t rush me you crazy person.”  Flipping through the magazine at an annoyingly slow pace Delphine almost laughed as Sung-hee resisted the urge to flip for her.  After a minute she finally reached the page.  “What no picture?”  Seeing Sung-hee’s glare she smiled, “Alright not in the mood I see.  So why did you do the interview anyway?”

Shrugging Sung-hee stretched out and took up the rest of the couch.  “Apparently some of the people in the company were browsing through tumblr and things like that and people still think its all publicity so Kaang-ssi set it up and was like, be brutally honest.”

Skimming through the article Delphine only half paid attention to what Sung-hee was saying.  “I find it hard to believe people don’t believe it I mean you’re a selca your twitter is covered with them.”

“Del you know they don’t follow me that’d just be weird.”

She snorted shaking her head and prepared for the smack that would follow after what she was about to say.  “Okay little miss a thousand followers.”

As expected Sung-hee did reach forward and hit Delphine’s leg feeling far too lazy to get up and actually hit her arm or any of her upper body.  “Oh hush you’re ruining my awesome mood.”

“Your mood is ruined too easily.”

“Bah I’m just a sensitive soul.”

“Nope you’re just crazy.”

“You kinda sound like it in the article.”

“Bs the lady told me she liked me.”  For about fifteen minutes the pair talked about the article and the potential reaction out of fans.  Eventually that died down and they were about to watched Star Wars as Delphine had been planning until Sung-hee arrived.  They would have watched it had Hyo not called Sung-hee suddenly and demanded that she channel fifteen’s news.  She resisted at first stating they were going to watch Star Wars.  That was until Hyo told her that either she watched it or he was coming over and making her watch it.  After that she finally listened to him, though she wished she hadn’t.

“Dae Hwuan’s trial will be held sometime next month under charges for kidnapping, fraud, and first degree murder.  Let’s go to-”

Without even hanging up Sung-hee promptly fell into the couch and passed out.  It took about five minutes to wake her up and Delphine, with terror gripping her, resorted to smacking her as hard as she could across the face.  “Yah you crazy !”  Cupping her now throbbing cheek she scampered away from Delphine hissing and eyes narrowed waiting for another attack.  “What the hell was that for anyway?”

Delphine’s usually sarcastic demeanor disappeared as she tried to get closer to Sung-hee who was inching away with every move Delphine made.  “Sung-hee you need to calm down.”  She used the voice that often one of her cousins used to calm down skittish horses and other animals.

It wasn’t working to well.  “I need to calm down?  You’re the one that slapped me!”

“Because you passed out and you wouldn’t wake up.”

“No need to slap me.”

“Sung-hee you need to just calm down maybe you should sit down.”

“I’ll sit down if I ing want to sit down!”

Sung-hee’s snarl surprised Delphine, so much so that she actually reeled back and stared at the older girl as if she had grown three heads.  “You’re not seriously thinking of going to see him are you?  I know you want to have the last word Sung-hee but that’s just going to start a cluster of problems for you.  Every time something from the past comes up everything goes wrong and you know that.”

“I’m not going to see him.”  By this point Sung-hee had backed herself up against the door and Delphine kept an eye on her hand which was still far from the door.  With nowhere else to run she couldn’t move away from Delphine as she came closer and closer.

“I don’t believe you.”

“I’m not!”

“Then why is your hand slowly going for the door and you’ve been backing away from me ever since you woke up?”

Startled Sung-hee tried to reach for the door knob and pushed herself up against the door.  “B-b-because.”  Mentally beating herself for stuttering she didn’t even realize Delphine come closer and placed a hand on Sung-hee shoulder.  Flinching when she finally realized it she looked over at Delphine with wide eyes hoping she’d understand what was going through her head.

Sighing Delphine pulled her off the door and took her hand surprising Sung-hee but she wasn’t away to get away from Delphine’s iron grip.  “You’re coming with me.”  Before Sung-hee could object Delphine shoves her shoes at her and dragged her out the door as soon as they both had their shoes on.  Despite Sung-hee’s constant protests about her arm and her wrist Delphine didn’t let go or loosen her grip for a second.

To Sung-hee’s surprise they got off the elevator on the second floor and she was dragged to last apartment on the left on the hall.  There weren’t many apartments on the second floor because that was where majority of the people who could afford larger ones but liked the area stayed.  Knocking rapidly Delphine let Sung-hee’s wrist go but before the other girl could even think about sneaking away Delphine looped her arm through hers. Okay I’m convinced Delphine is going crazy.

A few moments later while Sung-hee was trying to get out of Delphine’s grasp the door opened revealing a woman.  A talk woman with long legs, straight black hair and large expressive eyes that made Sung-hee, in a way, feel uncomfortable and inferior.  “What’s wrong Delphine?”  An angelic voice too.  What is her plan to make me feel so awkward and depressed I’ll want to stay home all day?

Delphine jerked Sung-hee’s arm gaining her attention once more.  “I was wondering if I could use your old paints and your art space.  Someone has some emotions to get out.”  She gestured with her head towards Sung-hee and the woman, Hye, motioned for the pair to come inside.  Sung-hee didn’t even get a chance to admire the sleek décor as she was dragged into a room that was actually closed off.  There was no furniture, only easels, paint cans and paint brushes scattered throughout the room.  Tarps completely covered the floor and it looked like fresh paint covered the walls.  All were a bare white but one had a large tarp hung up in the middle.

“I was going to use it for something else but since I owe you Delphine I’ll let you two go crazy on it.  You’re helping me clean up though.”

“Yeah I figured but that’s fine I don’t have-”

With no one paying attention to her Delphine looked between the two and finally barked in frustration, “Okay what is going on here!?”

Delphine turned towards Sung-hee and shrugged nonchalantly.  “This is Hye she’s got two paintball guns a tarp and a lot of spare paint.  And you are going to throw paint at it until you feel better.”

Sung-hee blinked in surprise, “You’re joking right?”

Rolling her eyes Delphine walked to the far corner of the room, grabbed a paintball gun and a can of paint.  Walking back she held out both objects to Sung-hee, “Does it look like I’m joking?”

Hesitantly Sung-hee took the paintball gun, observed it for a moment before taking aim at the canvas and fired off a shot.   A satisfying pop left the gun and a splat sounded against the wall and Sung-hee couldn’t help but crack a small smile.  Just pretend it’s Dae.  While she was hesitant at first to keep going after a while she got into it so much so that eventually Hye and Delphine joined in.  Once the tarp was covered they turned the paint on each other until all of them were covered in a variety of colors and the tarps on the floor got a new layer of paint.

“Once you two clean up and that dries you can keep it and put it towards your collection if you want considering it’s technically yours.  Now get out of those clothes I have some robes upstairs you can borrow until you get a shower.”  With that Hye headed out of the room trying her best to not track too much paint on her sparkling hardwood floor.

Sung-hee couldn’t stop smiling as she continued to play with the paintball gun as if she was a solider her mind completely off Dae now.  Well at least until Delphine brought him back up.  “Promise me you won’t go see him Sung-hee.”  Turning to her best friend Sung-hee gave her a ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’ look and scoffed a little bit.  When she didn’t respond Delphine sighed and stepped in front of her.  “I’m serious Sung-hee.”

“Why would I go see him?  It’s stupid and pointless to.”  While Delphine wasn’t entirely convinced she didn’t push the subject any further when Hye came back in with the robes.

“Alright fine just whatever you do Sung-hee don’t let it turn into another downward spiral.”  Sung-hee just as she was about to grab the robe from Hye paused letting Delphine’s words sink in.  With a small sigh she took the robe and nodded a bit signaling to Delphine that she understood.  Inside though was a completely different matter.  She knew she needed closure and there was only one way to get that.  But what’s more important closure or pretending everything is going to be alright?  Now that she wasn’t sure if she’d ever know the answer to.
