"That day, when you first met them at my place and they refused to come, I..I told them that I promise to go study if they came to support me at the concert," I said, not daring to look up at him as he stared at me dumbfounded, his hands no longer holding onto mine. 

"...t-then why didn't you tell me anything until now..?" He asked, and I could tell from his tone then he wasn't too happy about it.

"C-cos I knew you wouldn't be happy like they way you're reacting to it now," I said, my eyes taking a quick glance at him. "Though they told me it's okay for me not to just now when we talked after the concert, I made a promise..and I think I should keep my words even if I don't have plans to be a lawyer. I know you wouldn't really understand why I'm doing this but-"

"But you should've told me, right from the start before you promised them." he interrupted, looking straight at me with a stern expression. 

I kept quiet, not knowing what to say any longer and whispered an apology. He then looked away, not replying me, but keeping his eyes straight ahead. Darn, guess I've made him mad.

"Then I guess I should tell you something too," he said, not bothering to look at me anymore.

I looked at him, curious.

"SJM will be having a long stay in Taiwan for our Perfection promotions for 2 months, but Siwon and I will be staying for 4 months minimum 'cos we have a drama to film," He stated.

I took some time to absorb the information. 4 months ?! What was I supposed to do for 4 months without him in Korea ? "When are you..leaving ?" I asked.

"When Super Show 3 ends, probably.." he shrugged.

"W-what ?! Why didn't you tell me anything ?" I asked, utterly surprised.

"It's like how you didn't tell me that you promised your parents to study law ! I mean, wouldn't that take years ? 4 years at least ?" He looked at me, his eyes showing a hint of irritation.

"No, it's different..!" I countered. "..you're leaving me alone in Korea without telling me ? I can study in Seoul University, so it's not that much a big deal compared to your case."

"I'm not leaving you alone in Korea, or at least I wasn't planning to. I spent at least a week talking manager hyung into letting you come with us so you can be their translator on variety shows since you can speak Chinese and now that he has agreed, you-" He sighed, "It's okay, just forget what I've just said."

DONGHAE'S POV

I really didn't want to argue with her, especially on a plane. It has been slightly over a year since we've known each other and half a year since we've started dating but we've never really argued, except for the night of her birthday. However, this time, I really couldn't control myself. I mean, I've spent at least a week, talking to manager hyung about letting her be our translator. I knew she would be upset, and I would too, if we have to separate for 4 months. Sometimes, I've even got called up by Lee Soo Man to negotiate about this matter since he explained it wouldn't be too safe for her to show up on variety shows. Now that I've finally got him to agree, she's telling me about her promise to her parents. Not that I wasn't supportive of her going to study, but I thought that she would at least discuss it with me first before telling them that. Sure, I've got my chance at studying in a university and I wouldn't want to deprive her of one too, especially for a smart girl like her who could qualify for a university much more prestigious than the ones in Seoul. However, shouldn't she at least tell me about her plans beforehand ? Even if I wasn't heading to Taiwan, studying in a university would mean even lesser time to meet up than our current situation, considering the clashes in my schedules and her timetable. 

"..translator ?" she asked, sounding confused.

"Well I thought you'd be glad to come along with us to Taiwan and I thought this piece of news would be a great surprise to you but it seems like you've surprised me instead," I said with a shrug. I couldn't help but let disappointment sink in.

Just like that, we spent the remaining hour to ourselves on the plane. She probably needed some time to digest the sudden piece of news, and time to calm down as well since she sounded quite angry at me before. I, on the other hand, was also giving myself sometime to cool down too. I hated how we weren't talking to one another right now. Even Eunhyuk and Yesung who were behind us had heard our whole conversation and had been kicking at my seat for the past 15 minutes to get me to talk to her first. If they weren't my fellow members, I swear I would have made a complaint. 

"____?" I said, turning to my left to look at her, but saw her back turned against me instead as she stared out of the window. "I'm sorry for raising my voice at you, okay ? ..Are you angry ?"

There was no reply.

"...___?" I said, reaching for her hand this time round.

She kept quiet for a while, before she finally spoke up, "I'm sorry, I should have discussed the matter with you first...". She was still staring out of the window, not looking at me. 

Her voice was shaking and then I heard sounds of faint sniffing. She was crying. 

"I'll explain it to Mr Lee for you when we get back, it's my fault so I'll be responsible for the inconvenience in the rearrangements.." she continued. "I'm really sorry."

"Look, I'm at fault too and I apologise. If I had told you about it earlier then things would be fine now.." I said, sounding gentler. At times like these when her voice started shaking, I'd always give in to her. Not that she took this to an advantage whenever we had arguments, but it's just that I really didn't like to make girls cry. Adding on, we were both at fault anyway, so..

She simply shook her head, and said nothing else. Not knowing what to do, I turned behind to look at Eunhyuk, hoping to get some help. Instead, all I received from him was a death glare. I rolled my eyes at him, before turning back to look at ____.

"Hey..look at me," I said, but she didn't budge. I reached over to cup her face, making her look at me. When she turned to face me, her eyes were red and her cheeks were wet. Then she avoided my eyes, shivering slightly. "..O-ppa, please..d-don't be mad at me anymore... I won't do it again.."

"I'm not..mad at you it's just.." I sighed, "I don't know.." It made my heart ache a little as I saw how guilty she was to the extend that she couldn't even look at me and simply started sobbing. I wiped the tears that started to roll down her cheeks. 

She just shook her head. "But you wanted to surprise me and I..n-now..studies.." she spoke incoherently, trying to control her tears from flowing.  

"What's done is done so..ohwell, forget it. Alright ?" I said. "Don't cry anymore, hun.. "

I pulled her in for a hug and patted her back lightly. After a while, she pulled back, her lips pouting a little, which only made her look more adorable than she already was, "So..we're quits now ?" 

I chuckled slightly, "Mmhmm, we'll never keep anything from each other every again, okay ?"

She nodded, smiling between her tears and I gave her a kiss on her cheek.

Ever since their concert in Singapore, the fan project supporting the couple has been trending on twitter, and there were also reports on the concert held then which included it, causing their fans from different countries to come to know about. As their tour continued, fans from some countries had started to show their support, but there were also quite a handful of them who still objected to their relationship. Thus, although ____ tagged along for their concerts in the different countries, she wasn't able to perform for all of them. Very soon, Super Show 3 had come to an end, and it was also time for ____ to start her semester in Seoul University. 

She had enrolled in the university earlier and attended the orientation, but only chose to start the next semester as she really wanted to finish up the Super Show 3 asia wide tour. Meanwhile, SJM was scheduled to leave for Taiwan and start their long stay the day before ____'s first day at her university.

"Have you packed your luggage ? Did you miss out anything ?" ___ asked as he beside her on the bed. Donghae's flight would depart in the early afternoon the next day, thus, they decided to spend the night together as they didn't know when they would see each other again.

"Yea, I'm missing you," he sulked. It sounded cheesy, but ____ simply let out a small laugh.

"I'll miss you too, oppa," she said and hugged his arm, resting her head on his shoulder.

"I won't be able to send you to school on your first day, I'm sorry," he said apologetically. "But if you have any difficulties you can look for manager hyung alright ? Leeteuk hyung and Heechul hyung are here to help you as well.."

"Ne.." she said gloomily. 

"Don't be like that, you're making me feel bad," he said. "I'll try to call you on Skype as often as I can, okay ?"

"Alright," she smiled. He wasn't at fault, there wasn't a need for him to apologise, this was just part of the many consequences of dating an idol. 

"It's getting late, aren't you tired ?" He asked, his fingers combing through her silky hair.

"Nope, I just wna spend as much time with you as I can. I'm going to miss you so much..." she said and looked up at him.

He pressed his lips against his forehead, closing his eyes. As much as the both of them didn't want to separate, this was part of his job, and the both of them knew that. 

After a while of silence, ____ pulled away. "Oppa..w-will your drama have...k.k-iss scenes...?" she asked, biting her lips. Though it was common for dramas to feature kiss scenes, she couldn't help but start to feel jealous and slightly worried. She didn't mean to be possessive, but the thought of her boyfriend spending 4 months with two actresses, of which one of them is a model, made her feel slightly inferior

"Mm..I don't know yet but..perhaps..?" he replied. Upon seeing a worried expression on her face, he said with a wink, "But if you want I can film an hour long kiss scene with you before I leave for Taiwan, if that makes you feel better !"

"Ya oppa !" she said, blushing and slapping his arm playfully. "I was just asking..."

He then giggled and pulled her in for a kiss nevertheless. The two then spend the night together, cherishing each moment they had together before the time for him to leave arrived.

After spending a morning together, the time for SJM to leave for the airport to arrive. Their manager would be picking the other members up before he came to pick Donghae at her dorm. ____ on the other hand was not allowed to send him off to the airport as there would be fans around, thus causing inconvenience.

"You have to remember to eat your meals on time, and get enough sleep. Don't strain yourself too much, araso ?" she said, adjusting the collar of his jacket as he prepared to make his move.

"Ne, umma." he joked.

She giggled, but at the same time she felt herself starting to get teary again. "I'm starting to miss you already.." she said, hugging him tightly.

He patted her back and took in the scent of the strawberry shampoo on her hair. He was going to miss that so much. How she hugged him, how she blushes whenever she took the initiative to give her a kiss first, how she would always call his name in her dream when they spend the night together. "You too, you have to take care and be healthy.. It's good to study hard but, don't overwork youself, okay ? OH, and don't you dare look at other guys when I'm not around !"

"I won't !! Why would I when I'm dating Lee Donghae ?" she chuckled.

It wasn't long before the honk of the car coming from downstairs could be heard, and their conversation about reminding each other to take care of themselves had to come to an end.

"..guess this is it.." he sighed.

The smile on her face was now slowly disappearing. He wrapped his arms round her waist, and she did the same to her arms around his neck, as the two exchanged a long and meaningful kiss before he reluctantly pulled away as the car honked once more.

He forced a smile and towed his luggage out of the door, waving to her, "Goodbye, keep in touch !! I'll let you know when I reach Taiwan safely, take care, baby.."

She smiled sadly, walking with him all the way to the elevator. "You too oppa ! Annyeong.."

Then the elevator arrived and Donghae stepped in, before the doors closed between the both of them, marking the start of their  long separation.
