RECOVERY
SLEEPLESS IN SEOUL II
“Jess, if…” Her voice got clogged in . She looked away from her before she continued, “If you want to leave me, I’ll understand.” She hoped that Jessica didn’t notice her stammer and pain within her message that she passed across. She would be selfish if she insisted to drag her love down her terminal path.
“I swear I won’t blame you if you leave me. I…”
Before she could finish, she felt a pair a warm lips which engaged with hers. Her heart melted as she felt a strong sensation electrifying her body. Something she had not felt for the past few days. Something she missed so much.
“Tiffany…” Jessica whispered in her ear, “Don’t you ever think like that again. I’ll be by your side till the very end. I promise you that.”
Tiffany gazed at Jessica in the eye before hugging her. Both of them cried, but not of pain anymore, but tears of comfort and relief. When the world was falling apart around them, they realized at least they had each other. Tiffany was about to kiss Jessica again before the latter stopped her.
“Wait. Don’t forget to send the rest of our wedding invitations tomorrow,” Jessica interrupted excitedly.
“Jess…? You…you would still marry me?”
“Of course.”
“But…why? I am at death’s door. I…”
Jessica put her finger on Tiffany’s lips before she could continue.
“I love you and I will always will. Even after you are gone, you will always be with me. Here,” Jessica held Tiffany’s hand and tapped her chest, pointing at her heart.

So it was set. The wedding would be held two weeks from now. They sent invitations to all of their friends and family. The one thing that made Tiffany even more delighted was that her father finally condoned her wedding, and agreed to attend. Jessica was happy that Tiffany’s father-daughter relationship had recovered.
They planned their honeymoon to Italy. Jessica was especially excited as she always wanted to visit the land of romance, now she could, with her other pair. They were supposed to depart the next day after the wedding. The air tickets were all set and booked. First class. All they had to do now was wait.
