Our Roller Coaster Ride

Uhm... Chingyus???

I reposted this chapter since I've revised and added some parts.

The previous post lacked detail, so yeah...

I recommend you guys to read this again(If that's okay with you >_<).  Btw, I'm working on the next chapter now, hopefully I can post it before midnight (11KST)

Again, thank you and enjoy!  :)

Beats relentlessly assaulted the well cushioned walls of a small room while a lone man was seated at a table with a pencil at hand and a piece of paper on the said furniture, paying no heed at the computer screen which continued to illuminate his visage.

Jiho was again into one of his composing slash producing moments, with his back facing the door of the room as the speakers continued to blare a lyric less music. Jiho, also known as Zico, wouldn’t notice if anybody would step inside the room especially with the floors being carpeted.

Still oblivious to his surroundings, Jiho didn’t know that someone had been silently observing him at the slightly opened door.  Jiho was about to scratch out a word on the paper when a tiny happy voice had called him from nowhere, “Daddy!”

Jiho’s weariness had flown out of the window the moment he saw his son had tightly clung onto his dangling left leg. He then put all his composition material aside and picked up the little boy at once. Placing the three year-old boy on his lap, Jiho can’t help but smile at his child. “Hey buddy! Who brought you here?”

The boy looked at his father as he smiled a toothy grin, “Mommy did.”

Jiho’s eyes widened with worry. His wife was supposed to be at home, resting. And with that, Jiho stood up as he carried his son with him and went out of the production room and proceeded to where his wife would most probably be.

Just like what Jiho had thought, his wife was having the time of his life, drinking red tea while chatting with Jihoon, Taeil and Jaehyo at the pantry.

“Kyung, weren’t you supposed to be at home?” Jiho said as he sat beside his wife and their son on one of his thighs.

Kyung turned to look at his spouse as he stopped sipping his warm drink, deciding to refrain from chatting with his friends who he haven’t seen for such a long time. He had been cooped at home for the past months and with his son as an excuse, Kyung managed to find a way to leave the house and visit his husband at work.

“Channie’s been missing you. You haven’t been home for two days. I missed you, too. That’s why we’re here.” Kyung unabashedly stated.

Jiho looked at his little boy and ruffled his soft, dark hair which he inherited from his mom and pouted as he playfully pinched his little nose. “Did you really miss Daddy that much?”

The little boy nodded vigorously as he spread his short arms, showing how he missed his father. “I missed Daddy like this!”

Jiho chuckled at his child’s innocent remark and kissed its flushed cheek caused by the previous nodding. Kyung just silently watched the father and son interact and decided to in starting with a pout.

“Where’s our kiss?” Kyung whined, pertaining to him and their unborn baby. Well, more on about his neglected cheeks actually.

The Woo family… That’s how they spend time with each other. The moment they see a family member, they would most certainly build their own bubble, forgetting the world around them in the first five minutes before interacting with others. It was ‘Family Comes First’ in its most literal sense.

“Okay. Guys, I think we need to go now.” Taeil interrupted.

The other three were completely forgotten as soon as the couple saw each other. It was a common knowledge to leave, especially the two, before they could start throwing rainbows and unicorns at each other.

“Let’s go before things will turn too greasy for me to handle.” Jaehyo mockingly stated as he grinned at the couple.

Jihoon, the youngest, laughed heartily. Not caring about his booming voice that shook the walls of the pantry. He then offered a hand to the little boy, not wanting the innocent child to witness the utmost mushiness of his parents at an early age, “Heechan-ah, do you want to play with your uncles?”

Heechan immediately jumped off from his father’s lap and dashed to his Uncle Jihoon. “Yuppies!”

Jihoon turned to look at the child’s parents who just nodded at him, showing their approval and leaving their child under their care.

As soon as the trio left with Heechan, Jiho turned to look at his wife who was silently sipping at his straw, undeniably enjoying the drink that he’s been craving for months. Jiho smiled at the contented look of his spouse as he found himself drawing closer. Jiho then hugged Kyung, inhaling the vanilla scent with a hint of mint that the other had.

Jiho’s other hand then went down Kyung’s abdomen and felt the warm baby bump that was covered by his knitted shirt. Jiho couldn’t stop himself from grinning. Their second child’s going to be perfect, just like their first. He thought.

“Let’s go home?” Jiho suggested. He just couldn't bear to stay for another day in the studio if he had to worry about his wife alongside with his composition deadlines. He had to prioritize his family, too, especially the welfare of his wife and unborn child.

Kyung was told by his doctor to be in bed rest for a while, at least until the end of his eighth month which was only four days more on the dot. He had sudden complications in the middle of his seventh month that almost made him give birth to their second baby prematurely. Kyung looked at his husband as he put the tea cup back on its rightful place on the table, “How about your work? You’re not do—”

Jiho just shrugged, “Nah, it can wait.” And then gave Kyung a peck on the lips, “I can’t leave my babies alone at home for too long.”

Kyung was definitely silenced by the sudden kiss and definitely found his husband way too adorable being worried and all. And Kyung couldn’t keep himself from being grateful with his husband’s concern and consideration. “Okay.”

Letting his husband touch his swollen abdomen, Kyung lovingly watched Jiho when he suddenly remembered something that made him sat up and Jiho looked up.

"What's wrong, Kyung?" Jiho asked, completely puzzled as to why Kyung was now acting all worried as if there's a big problem that he wasn't telling him.

Kyung bit the nail of his forefinger as he looked at Jiho, "Have you forgotten about tomorrow?"

"Huh?"

Jiho was at a loss. He was working on too many things the past few days. He doesn't even know his schedules for a week if it weren't for his wife. And then it clicked… He had totally forgotten about a friend's invitation.

Myungsoo had actually called them before and invited them to Sungyeol's, his wife, baby shower party. Jiho then exactly knew why his wife's completely worried. It was basically because Kyung doesn't know how to tell the two significant people in Myungsoo and Sungyeol's lives – Minhyuk and Yookwon.

Myungsoo was a college friend of Minhyuk. They went to dance classes together where they met Yookwon who was a mere dance instructor’s assistant and the three of them became instant friends just by their first meeting. The three of them loved to hang out at indi-cafés during their free time and would sometimes visit the university library when they wanted silence and peace.

Sungyeol was the university’s student librarian by that time. Myungsoo practically went to the library without an excuse just to see Sungyeol. He even brought coffee drinks with him despite of the beverages being prohibited inside the library. Well, Myungsoo did it on purpose though, to catch Sungyeol’s attention. But with the help of Minhyuk and Yookwon, Myungsoo managed to take Sungyeol into another level of ‘social contact’.

And the rest was history.

Who would have thought that these people would be friends with Jiho and the other guys by the latter years?

Maybe they should thank Minhyuk and Yookwon. If the two did not decide to apply as dance instructors in Brand New Stardom, maybe they wouldn’t be able to meet such wonderful people.

That’s fate doing his work.

Being who the friends were first wasn’t the issue. Jiho knew that Kyung was finding ways on how to open up a conversation about the baby shower without hurting or offending the two persons who were close to his heart as well.

"Zi, how am I going to tell Minhyuk and Kwonnie?"
